The Veyron's Bad Rap.

With the release of Route X though, it's reputation is slowly gaining popularity amongst the drafters. The noobs who just use it as an "aiming machine" don't stand a chance now that people who can tune it properly have a circuit that can show it's true engineering marvels.

I made a challenge for the "Veyron Masters" in the marketplace. Try your hand at it in the marketplace. Simply drive the Veyron around three circuits, Suzuka, cote d'azur, and the Nurb.

This thread is filled with comments that reflects what I think about the Veyron, yet I get hated to moon and back because people keep telling me "where is the proof that 1% are good at it etc".
Same thing in drag rooms...
People are both stupid and hypocrites.

I love the veyron, however I see it more like a luxury cars made to be fast. It wasnt made for racing and I think you can see that on how it behave (in the game at least).

Apart from the stig I never saw anyone driving the veyron to the limit on a track, you dont have any nurburging time attack with this car, because racing isnt the point. The point of the car is beeing able to travel ultra fast wihtout the skill needed. Actually I bet a grand dad could go to 400km/h with a veyron if you give him a long straight. All other cars capable of going at that speed you'll need a race driver to drive it.

Nice piece of technology, I would love to have one, however it's not a racing car.

Everyone hated the Veyron until the new X track came along. Now it's being driven again.

It's loved by the guys on Top Gear, yet when the same show interviewed a F1 driver, he admitted to be trying to sell his Veyron.
I believe it's a technology marvel, yet as far as fun to drive or "thrilling" many other choices.

It's not a matter of people hating the Veyron, it just shouldn't be someone first choice of vehicle when the rest of the room is racing cars that are 300 to 400 less hp. I get just as upset when everyone is racing high powered cars and someone brings out a 150hp car.

The veyron I guess will always have a bad rap because most people think its just an expensive rare car. Which it is, however it is also a volkswagen and the R&D time that it took to make that car is impressive in itself. They veyron in a legend. Haters will hate it because they are misinformed and usually ignorant to the information readily available for it.

I think the Veyron hated because of the same reason the X2010 and X2011 are hated. The Veyron is an over powered machine that is used by many "inexperienced" drivers, much like the X2010 or X2011, simply because it has over 1000 HP stock. This, in turn, gives the Veyron a bad reputation on any game. I've only witnessed a few people who can actually drive the damn thing. I personally don't like because it's too heavy. That doesn't mean I hate it, it just means I don't prefer it. It's not very stylish either in my opinion.

But to call someone a noob, a "Dumb*** in a Gayron" and being kicked without even getting a chance to exhibit your driving skills to be evaluated is just immaturity on the hosts part. Best to forget and move on.

I allow the Veyron to be run in my lobbies only if you meet the criteria!

-You have to know how to drive it.
-Constantly crashing into barriers and other drivers is strongly prohibited.
-Extreme caution is to be taken when coming up to slower traffic.
-You have no bragging rights if you are in a Veyron.

The same also applies if you are in an X2010, X2011, or FGT, except I have a zero tolerance rule for the two X1s. Usually, I don't allow the X1s to run because most people who do run them do not know haw to drive them.

Also because it's a prize car, just like the X2010!

That's another problem IMO. The Veyron is very easy to get, you can get it very early in the game... :dunce:

Not me, I've loved the car since the 1st time I saw it and drove it in GT5... :) I just wish it was premium...

Yeah, the pictures are great, you can find more. Just google mercury cougar veyron. Dunno if he did actually sell it

Wouldn't be worth the money to me. I don't like the Veyron anyway. It just looks like a tank to me.

And yet in another blunder, Polyphony decided to gift everyone the X2010 S. Vettel! The reasoning is there...but still! Great, now I have three of the S. Vettel models just collecting dust! And I can't sell them (I really don't want to delete them either) or trade them!

Why does the Veyron get such a bad rap? It's understandable in drag racing because of it's insane speeds and maybe even during racing online, but I was in a room just cruising around in a stock Veyron, just testing it out since I fully tuned my other one, and the host began yelling at me and called me the "Dumb *** in a Gayron" and kicked me. I mean I wasn't even doing anything. So why is the Veyron so antagonized?

This is typical of the public lobby scene recently. Its gone downhill....possibly its because the {old timers} who used to race have moved on to other games & all the players online now are newer and much worse.... :sly:

I too notice that there's less and less quality racing anymore. Atleast 50% of the rooms seem to be "drag, dirty boost strong, etc."

A sign things are getting even worse is when I saw today that rooms were entitled "clean racing" with boost on weak, or boost on strong. Another room was entitled "dirty nascar, pros only." This is a very very bad sign that the online open lobby scene may be in the final stages of its cancer.

Illicit conversations of Pedophelia, sex of all kinds is also on the rise. There is a wide variety of creeps that seem to be trolling online in GT5. The mics are becoming verbal weapons....

Veyron has no soul, 16 cylinder Quad turbo will surely get you fast from point A to point B and that's about it, it's just a steroid version of VW! I wouldn't even put it in the same sentence with McLarenF1 (tho i just did), the F1 has a deep legendary past (tho it's only known to racing enthusiasts) and it still crushes veyron in a half mile drag!

probably the biggest mistakes, you can always pick out the bad drivers if they're in a S. Vettel, or maybe the 2011 Prototype since it's downloadable.

there is nothing legendary about the McLaren F1
and it doesn't even come close in beating the veyron in a half mile drag

If the people at VW had trouble making a car do 250+ mph while maintaining street car credentials, then that F1 doing 240+ in the 90s is damn impressive.

The F1 was the Veyron of it's day. I wouldn't say one is better than the other, though, just different.

Can't wait to see what McLaren's got up their sleeve for the F1's successor.

Many people hate it online because many noobs drive it

But the more stupid people are the ones that hate it offline, complaining about the handling. It is always the same 'it slides like soap in a prison shower' or something like that, but it is because you are already going 150mph... so slow down to a speed you would take it in anything else.

Simple as that

I agree. Velocitization. It's actually kinda nice, but does have a boat feel to it, likely from it's weight. Once you get used to the speed in the corners, it's not bad at all.

It's just your opinion, Get on Wiki mate ;)

Also, here's a mile drag race http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JdVZU96gkDM

the video doesnt say anything, the driver did not use launch control... If you are the wiki user you say you are, then you can figure it out...

check from the Veyron Wiki at the Review section:
A few episodes later, James May drove the Veyron at the VW test track and took it to its top speed of 407.16 km/h (253.00 mph). During the second episode of the 13th series, Richard Hammond raced the Veyron against the McLaren F1 driven by The Stig in a one mile (1.6 km) drag race in Abu Dhabi, commenting on Bugatti's "amazing technical achievement" versus the "non gizmo" racing purity of the F1. While the F1 was quicker off the line and remained ahead until both cars were travelling at approximately 200 km/h, the Bugatti overtook its competitor from 200 to 300 km/h, and emerged the victor. Hammond has stated that he did not use the Veyron's launch control in order to make the race more interesting.

Exactly. Would you take a 90-degree turn at 100 MPH in a Elise? No. Then why would you want to do it in a Veyron?

And I'd like to get into some clean online Veyron races. Nobody would ever even think of doing it though, because they've brainwashed themselves into relating the Veyron with rammers.
