They wrote out a character they had written into a corner.

So what?

Actually make that two, with T-Dog. Actually, they should do the merciful thing and write out Carol too since I've no clue what she's there for.

Loved the newest episode... Such drama and action through the whole episode.

Wonder what they gonna do with all the zombies getting together outside the fences, due to the alarm?!

Make hole or a ramp, put a big industrial grinder on it ala

Put a speaker on it, a scare crow.

Problem ? Zombie apocalypse?

Damn that episode was 🤬 intense. I would have expected a body count like that would have been saved for the season finale or something, not the 4th episode. Kudos to writers and actors for easily one of the best episode's so far.

Ibonibo
a gun doesn't make someone smart.
She trusted Shane
She shot Daryl
She threatened the group with the walkers in the barn
She helped Maggie's sister commit suicide.
She wanted to commit sucide.
She threatened the group with how she handled her dead sister
and many more
....
And most importantly she disrespected Dale.
And now she threatened Michonne life by trusting the governor and Merle. Seriously she trusts Merle, the guy who lost a hand because of that group, her included. She's not even suspicous. ?

She probably is, or at least was. He's doing a fantastic job at putting on an act of sincerity.

And besides, maybe she figures he understands they had no choice.

Other than that she seems to be doing pretty well as far as decision making this season.

So no one is upset that Tdogg is dead? I know I am. He wasn't the most talkative member of the "core group" (understatement) but still I was really looking forward to see how will his inevitable meeting with Merle play out. At least he went in style.

On the other hand Lori had it coming. I must admit, for me she was one of the most irritating characters in the series but her last words shined bit more positive light on her persona. Also props to producers for going all "Prometheus" (if you saw that movie you know what I'm talking about) with boiler room scene. Even beginnings of life in post apocalyptic, zombie infested world aren't easy.

As for the rest of the season 3. I think the series is going in very good direction. Carl developed very nicely. Michonne is just great. Governor is evil (it shows that Basic Instinct 2 was not career ending enterprise) and from what we saw in next episode teaser, Rick is about to get angry. Like, really angry.

Yeah, real shame T-dog died. (Or became undead)...

Gonna miss him...

Looking forward to see what Merle will do about his search for Daryl.

So what?
Her own, very young son had to put a bullet in her head. It wasn't the death, since she was arguably the most irritating character, but anyone with a family feels for her family and the situation around her death.

Sorry you don't get it,, but even professional TV critics have called this an amazing episode. It was designed to evoke an emotional reaction in the audience and, with the exception of you, it worked.

The writers underutilized his character, almost forgetting he was there many times. It's hard to have an emotional reaction to the death of a character who we rarely get to see as more than background and the token black guy in the group.

I just watched 4th.

Spectacular. I was trembling the entire episode, and the end was simply smashing. Like someone said above, this episode HAS to win something. Incredible.

He did a heroic feat by saving Carol, but his death had a bit less impact on me then Lori's, even though she was irritating.. :) Can't wait for the next episode, because it looks like Rick is gonna go a bit crazy trying to deal with Lori's death.... It'll also be interesting to see how the ex-convicts develop in the group since one of them proved his allegiance by blasting his crazed, old cell mate in the head.

No need to get so indignant about it. Lighten up.

And I'm sorry, but the way zombie genre has saturated the market does not make me take stories based around them seriously. Zombieland and Shawn of the Dead approached the genre with a much better attitude IMO.

So your issue is you aren't much of a fan of the gritty style of the show?

It is the closest thing to a real representation of how a zombie apocalypse would go. There is no happy ending, no end of the story until the disease is cured and all zombies are re-deaded. No zombie movie can properly tell a zombie apocalypse story. Walking Dead is a "continuing tale of survival" which is the only kind of survival story that can really be told in an apocalypse setting.

Sure, comedy is more fun. But it is horror, not comedy. No one shows up looking for fun.

My issue is with gore for the sake of gore, misery for the sake of misery and pretentious drama for the sake of drama. Which is why I dislike the horror genre in general because I cannot imagine what kind of sick minds come up with imagery like that.

Any form of entertainment is meant to do just that, entertain. The two movies I mentioned make the genre, horrible as it is, accessible to an audience just looking for fun by injecting humour and some satire into it. IN TWD's example, the background is apocalyptic/stupid/silly and the main story focus is depressing. Where is the fun?

So, in effect, I don't take it seriously. And if I don't take it seriously, I'm not going to sympathise with cookie-cutter characters.

Excellent episode last week. RIP Tdog and Lori. I'm wondering if she is actually "dead" since we didn't see Carl actually shoot her. I'm betting undead Lori makes an appearance and Rick has to shoot her. Hmmm the plot thickens with the Governor.

Episode Summary:

Rick gets mad. Maggie and Daryl get baby stuffs. Michonne kills some walkers. Andrea acts stupid. The Governer throws a 🤬 up "party". Michonne rage quits. Rick gets a phone call.

The end.

That was what, the 5th episode? There are 16 episodes this season and it's split up into 8 episodes, with the next 8 airing sometime next year.

^that is correct. and as Kirkman said, episode 4 was not the climax, both finals will be interesting.

I started reading the comics. Awesome, a different take on the same story. Remember my last week rant about Andrea. I love her carac in the comics but not on the TV show (though the actress does a pretty good job at pissing me off). On TV she seems to be a combination of Patricia, Carol and herself.

What happend to Carol by the way, did she really died offscreen, which would be really lame. I expect to see her again.

I also expected Lori's head in the Z. Thought Rick needs to see prove, or wants to get the wedding ring or stuff.

On the whole discussion we had on the infection and why blood doesn't matter the comics gave a good clue:

The bite or scratch is not what turns you. It kills you and since you are already infected you turn.

Her is my take on the phone call, which is completly imagined, but spoils on the comics so,..:
Michonne in the comics is talking to herself, probably because of the shock. My take is that Rick is hearing "voices". Though I really don't know and knowing show and comics, everything is possible.

Everyone not already reading the comics but loving this show. Do it!

Aww wtf so this is only a half season than a long ass break? I hate when they do that. Breaking bad is doing that and it's a whole year break but I'll let that one slide since it's the final season and I want it to be good. This show better be amazing second half than. Last time second half was way crazier so hopefully they keep the trend.

About the scratches and bites eventually killing you and you turn since you're infected already I get but who dies from a scratch lol. Even if you got bite in the shoulder like tdog you still wouldn't die with minimal treatment. As far as know a scratch hasn't turned anyone tho. I can't think of a character off the top of my head who did turn by just a scratch so maybe they are all just being paranoid.

^ Yes it was :D

I'm liking the way this show is headed plot-wise. There's just one thing I don't get.

Where's Carol? Did she really die? I don't recall them ever finding her body in the previous episode. But they did dig three graves to bury Lori, T-Dogg and I assume the third is for Carol. They wouldnt bother burying the crazy prisoner who messed everything up of course. Through-out the whole episode I was constantly asking myself, "Where's Carol?" Not that I really care about her character all that much, but I just really want to know what happend. :)

I'm now thinking of the possibilty that it was Michonne looking on from the bushes within the earlier season 3 episodes. Perhaps not, but there's a possibility. I'm really really enjoying this season! 👍

Alright, so I watched the latest episode last night and it was pretty good. I guess Rick was going crazy with the phone thing, hell I even started to believe it at first but when the "people" on the phone knew his name etc, then I was like...yeah he's crazy.

But do you think he is going to be okay now? Seems at the end there he snapped out of it.

Ok I got a theory. First of all Rick is crazy and there is no one calling he just can't accept what happened. However if you remember Carol was supposed to perform a c-section on Lori and was practicing on walkers since Hershel couldn't anymore do to his leg. It even showed her cutting one and fixing them up again. Than randomly she got separated and Lori had the baby to which they left to die. Rick than went back to see Lori but she was no where to be seen and they made it look like that fat walker ate her. We all know that is impossible tho since even a girl still weighs a lot and you just can't eat all their bones and everything by yourself. Rick also picked up the bullet that his kid supposedly shot Lori with but there was no blood on the floor where it hit. If the kid did shoot Lori there should be blood and brains everywhere. I think the kid pussed out and just shot randomly to make it seem like he did it. Than Carol heard the shot and walked there but found Lori and began to stitch her up. Making Lori and Carol still alive. Carol didn't talk at all last ep but we will see what she says about it all.
