Play.com says 4 December, is that old news and still speculation?
Amazon says December 29, 2009 and gamestop has it at February 2, 2010.

Good ol' mixed bag.

How possible is it for a company to supply stores in the entire world with GT5 in just one or two weeks?
I'm probably too optimistic but what if they'd release GT5 along with the PS3 Slim, during the first week of September..

BabelFish translation:

Haha, yes you probably are being too optimistic.

You made me laugh and I'm having a crap day, so thanks.:)

This is the line that still makes no sense. It's not good English any way you look at it. Do they have interior damage, interiors and damage, or something else entirely?

I read the Japanese as they have interiors and respond to damage.

Yep, it's still not making any sense, and this is by far the most important bit of news on that page, haha. I'm sitting tight until we know what the hell this means.

We have a Ferrari 599 with the interior view, so are we going to see it getting smashed into a thousand pieces, since it is a premium car? If so, I'd be happy, as that means that this is a time/manpower issue and not a dead-end licensing one, and I would guess they'd just work through the cars after the release to bring them all up to premium spec.

You can bet that this damage engine is going to be incredible though : D

While I agree about the optimistic bit, Kaz has said for months that they could release it at any time...

Sorry about your day, though.

If SCC can manage a Ferrari with interior view and damage, PD can do at least that.

What are you calling premium cars? Are those the cars that are cool? famous? powerful?
Are those the cars that will be available via DLC?
Are those the cars available in a special $100.00 edition?

The way I see it, premium cars can mean A N Y T H I N G.

But is that doable for a company to release a game within what, 12 to 15 days?
Or perhaps all regions of Sony already have the game and are ready to ship it to the local stores.. lol 💡

@ yaoming3000

That's what I believe.

Opinion : 830 cars will be in the standard version of the game, SOME ported from GT4, and 170 cars EXTRA in the "Premium version of the game.

Sounds good but at what extra price. Oh well doesn't matter, I could easily spend €100 on the premium version. As long as it has full interior view and damage that is.

Latest information concerning the game specification of GT 5 was announced on "gamescom" held in Germany last August 18.

This could also be the reason why the page was removed, as nothing was actually said about GT5 in Germany. It was said that the announcement was removed from the conference, and this info did show up soon after it was over.

Sounds right, the physics portion of the info makes it sound like all cars show damage. Oh lawdy, can't wait for tomorrow to see some videos. :dopey:

I'm gonna wait for the official English announcement before coming to any conclusions on hard facts.

However, right now, I think it would be absolutely absurd to think GT5 will have only 20 tracks. For a start if you include the rally class you'd have thought at least 10 different stages right there...AT LEAST! Then there's the GT5P circuits along with others that have already been spotted. In other words, already, that's more than 20.

As for the cars...well again it's easy to assume the worst HOWEVER think about it. 170 cars with full deformation...probably, and as most people reasonably assumed for a few months now, non production models...and the others are 'said to be from GT4'! PD may be using GT4 data but they will be up to GT5P spec. REMEMBER a lot of the cars will be the same make/model such as the Impreza WRX, Impreza WRX STI etc, etc... Hopefully you can see where I'm going with this.

I, as a lowly, humble consumer can get a package from halfway around the world here in a week. If the discs are already stamped, I would imagine that PD/Sony could do similar, but I would be completely shocked if they could pull it off without no one knowing and spilling the beans by now.

(Correspond to the interior and damage).

Would this make more sense if we thought of 'damage' as alterable, not necessarily deformation? If so, does it then mean for these "premium" cars, the interior trim color/pattern could be selectable, just like the exterior? For the standard cars, you get one interior color and that's it.

It would make more sense that way, I suppose we will find out soon enough.

The 20 tracks idea is just so stupid that I'm not going to discuss it anymore.

for those of you who might have missed it. The 170 "Premium" cars we're discussing were defined on the GT website as having something to do with interior and damage, as opposed to the remaining 830.

What we're discussing is basically whether that definition = interior and damage or interior damage ;) It's a big question.

I bet Amar212 is laughing out loud right now.

Why cant you guys talk about the other features? Everyone is repeating themselves about the number of cars. There is a lot more than 830 and 170 to discuss.

I just noticed the Even numbered winds have come true... hmmm what could that mean? LoL

This is what we do, for the previous 10 pages we were discussing tracks.

-random speculation-

lot of people have said 24th or 25th september, but that's TGS. I think that a special edition or PS Store code could be released there to those who pay.

yes, i know, completely absurd.

and wow, it's REALLY hard to type with a frikin sixaxis.

And if you stick around, we'll be discussing pit girls next!

Note: On second thought, don't start discussing pit girls. That is reserved for the premium section.
