Here is my take on this crazy, cryptic situation.
The fact that not all the vehicles will have damage makes me feel like we will be buying an unfinished game. Maybe I am alone in this, but I strongly feel that way.
Secondly, if 80% of the vehicles in the game are from GT4 and they are the fully rendered models [
the ones PD built for future use and then scaled them down for the PS2] - what was PD doing for over 5 years!?!?
If weather and night races aren't in the final game - I am going to be sickly disappointed. 1,000 vehicles is great [
I said a few weeks ago that I felt there would be 1,000 or more vehicles in GT5, so I am ecstatic about that], and all the other features sound amazing too - but I hope we at least get cockpit view in
ALL the vehicles, weather [
rain and snow] and lots of tracks.
The 20 tracks with 60 variations statement is ludicrous. Why would PD downsize GT4's track content and only include the roster of vehicles from the same game? 5 years is
plenty of time to create at least 400 new vehicles, right? Every Gran Turismo game features cars from that year or at least a year older [
and lots of classics and concepts] so why give us 75% of the same cars we have already seen before?
Also, GTPSP has cockpit view and I think it's for
all 800 cars - so why wouldn't we have cockpit view in
all the vehicles in GT5?
I dunno, I just
really want confirmation of weather and night races for GT5. I hope someone asks Kaz about that at GamesCom.
If those 2 features aren't in GT5 - it really makes me wonder what they did for over 5 years.
I'm not knocking PD -
I love them! I will buy GT5
regardless, but I am only being honest that I would be disappointed if there was no weather or night racing - especially since Kaz has stated numerous times over the past 5 years that they were working on those very things [
weather specifically].
Forza 3 is the main competition for GT5 and I really want to see a strong showing from Polyphony Digital against their rival - but unless that details list for GT5 was only half of the full features list, we may be a little let-down this time.
Remember, Kaz was asked to describe GT5 and he said there was so much content, that it would be very difficult to describe. Well, apparently so is listing GT5; as we all have been confused by that too!
