VIPERGTSR01Your police still using older cars?
Wolfe2x7Many areas of the U.S. use old, outdated cars, because they're too poor and/or stubborn to get newer ones.
Then, if you take into account that the ubiquitous Crown Victoria is a big, sloppy, ancient, creaky dinosaur, pretty much all of the U.S. uses outdated cars.![]()

Well, its not wise at all to buy a used cop car in the US. They're pushed very hard and are extremely worn out.VIPERGTSR01Wow over here when a new model Commodore or Falcon comes out within a year maybe alittle more all the police cars are replaced.
So when you buy an ex-cop car you still usually have a couple years warrenty on them, two of my friends got cheap good cars that way, one was a LS1 powered Holden SS Commodore and the other was a Ford Falcon XR8.
I guess its a case by case basis thing. A girl I knew in high school had a former undercover police Crown Victoria, the thing is they took out all the police package stuff and installed factory equipment. I dont know why they would go through the trouble of that, but she had the car for 3 or 4 years. I think it didnt have that many miles on it when she got it so it was in better condition than most former police cruisers.*McLaren*Well, its not wise at all to buy a used cop car in the US. You'll spend more repairing one than buying one.
ND4SPDOver in my town we got a navy blue SVT Mustang Cobra thats been supercharged to 490hp. I actually saw it once chase a car down the highway here. Chasing a fox bodied stang. At first I thought they were racing, the blue cop stang passed us and I heard the supercharger wine it was badass. Then it turned on its flashers, a pretty cool takedown as the f-body mustang thought it was just a race too.
Ouch, I've met a few cops that are pretty cool.THE ED3yeah thats how pigs work. bunch of low life tossers if you ask me...
Actually, they are usually kept to a higher standard than the civilian ones because they are constantly being taken care of to save the costs of replacing them. It depends on area mostly...*McLaren*Well, its not wise at all to buy a used cop car in the US. They're pushed very hard and are extremely worn out.

I don't know.... sounds like a lose/lose situation......High-TestThose lucky Japanese cops..Toyota Soarer....
My friend's Dad is a cop, and he says the high mileage cars are the best ones to buy, because if a used Crown Vic has low miles and is being sold, it's probably for a good reason.
