My friend says that paying a fee for used games is a good market Strategy.
Unless you get less people buying your games because they think you're Satan Incarnate. Then it would be a poor market strategy.

You mean that not-at-all good news that had already been pointed out to not be good when Microsoft first announced and that just because there are one or two articles on the internet trying to spin it as good news doesn't make it good news?Isn't it funny when Reshiram posts good news from MS, everyone ignores it?
And then Nintendo ended up giving Philips the same free reign that they didn't want Sony to have.Odd how every one forgets the contract clause that Sony had added (and Nintendo missed at first) that would have given Sony the rights to all software released on disc. Which would have given Sony fee reign yo do anything with the likes off Mario, etc off they came out on disc.
That's why Nintendo went to Phillips, they didn't just throw away the development for a giggle.
Strategy. And if you can get people to do it, yes. You get more money, so... duh.
But it's horrible business practice and most consumers hate it. Even EA pulled their ludicrous system after the backlash and being voted "the most evil company in America". I think only Ubisoft retain a similar "passport" system at the moment - where you get a free content/online play unlock code in the box if you buy new or you buy one from them if you buy used.
But we've been over and over and over and over this many times since the very first reveal. Not news.
Speaking of the EA thing, I said at the time that EA will have an alternate plan to the current system. While we havent heard much from Sony, MS sure have stepped up where EA left off. Its very possible EA new these things where coming so they made a big deal of dropping there check knowing itd be useless soon anyway. Kinda fits right in with EAs style of business.

Microsoft is now the biggest threat videogames have ever seen. The Xbox One will introduce restrictions and a removal of basic rights that will effect us all.
WE MUST NOT LET THIS HAPPEN.

What you mention now (getting burglered and having your games stolen), is for you a good enough motivation to not even wanting to own your games at all anymore, but have MS licence it to you when you buy it? I find that a bit strange to say the least. So, if someone steals my games again they get to play at my expense? I am ALL for registering a game to my account where the disc is useless for the next person if I can download it if I lose the disc. All for that. And if installs are mandatory why would they allow someone to just copy over and over and over for free?
Online DRM, forced kinect however needs to be dropped like yesterday, I guess it doesn't really matter. No interest in this system.
Forza 5 looks good, can't wait to play it 3-4 years.
Bollocks online petitions do absolutely nothing. No one at Microsoft will ever see that, and less people will care.
Vote with your wallet. If nobody buys the thing, they might just get the message.

True hitting them in the wallet will be the best way to punish them, but anyway i like to participate in creating a :censored:storm for them on the net also together with gamers worldwide, so that's why i gladly signed that petitionThis. That's basically what everyone should to MS at this point, (if at E3 turns out to be a major disappointment)...
Yes but you do realize you do not own the product you buy anymore according to the strategies MS is trying to force on us? Don't you fear that this will set a precedent for many more products in the future also?mister dog
I'm talking about games, nothing else. Your analogy has too many flaws in it.
The example I gave you is one reason.![]()

No, no other product will follow this path since there are few products similar to Gaming Consoles, maybe razors with changeable cartridges. But even then the cartridges get used up and are not like new if used by another person after first sale. The sale of games is where Console makers make their money to stay in business. They will lose money with every system sold with no new games are purchased.
Heavy rain sold 2million copies but 3 million user trophies are registered, I would be one unhappy if 33% of people earned trophies didn't even support the developer/publisher.

It may not have been global, but it's not made up.You heard rumors. There are many rumors that we know of. The majority of those are just made up.I heard rumors that after the Xbox One reveal, Wii U sales increased.
If they've rethought their position, they haven't done anything about it yet. All of the policies they've shared reflect upon what they told us at the console reveal, and since uploading them to the official website, nothing has changed. That's why RESHIRAM5's "good news" article was nothing new. It's merely a positive spin on the information we already have.Thankfully, MS have rethought their original position on some of the issues, and reacted to popular opinion.
There's a difference between having a "pro voice" and being unwilling to recognize the issues that some people have with these policies. I've seen more of the latter -- "What's the big effin' deal, guys? You're always on the internet!" "We never owned our games anyway, they're just licensed to us. Read your EULA." "You have smartphones and use Facebook, why do you care about privacy now?"What has annoyed me is, that in this thread and others, it has turned into anti-Microsoft rant, there is very little balanced or pro-Microsoft arguements, and the negative opines seem to be the most vociferous, with very little balancing, apart from yourself F1 fan. Anyone with a pro voice, seems to get slapped down.
Senior vice president of Interactive Entertainment Business Yusuf MehdiWe believe over the next five years we can break a 100 million unit installed base, senior vice president of Interactive Entertainment Business Yusuf Mehdi recently told OXM. Thats something were shooting for, its not a financial plan as such, its just rough numbers if you will. To sell another 25 million, half of those will probably come from replacements, but half will come from new buyers and the way well break into those segments is by hitting new price points, getting new classes of entertainment to come with the Xbox, and breaking into new customer segments. So youll see the Xbox 360 continue to exist, even as we launch the next generation Xbox One.
We think you can go broader than a game console, thats our aim, he claims.
Microsoft is planning a huge announcement related to the Xbox 360 at E3 this year, one that the company promises will keep the console vibrant for years.
I wonder if a smaller and cheaper hardware revision will follow this announcement, if they get it down to like the size of the final PS2 then I would be interested because as its stands I'm not all that interested in getting a 'One'. The 360 back catalogue is pretty impressive.
I've always fancied Forza 4 triple screen. That may be a cheap possibility soon.
