-We need an auction house (similar to what we saw in FM3) to trade cars online! even tuned ones.

-An ability to test drive a car before buying it

-More credits for winning a race when racing with harder driving settings (all setttings off would possibly give you like 25% more credits per race)

-A special event where everytime you win you would be gifted a random car!

-Option to run a series of races in multiplayer mode.
It would be really nice to be able to pick 2 or 3 or more tracks then be able to set the number of laps on each track and have the race run as a series with an optional pause in between each race. Scroing here should be done as it is in championship events with points awarded in each race of the series to determine the overall winner.

As in F1 2010 game

I want more tuning upgrades:

* Ability to Turbo/Supercharg all the cars.
* NOS modds any one?
* Livery Editor. Or anything just anything to customize.
* More, more, just more tuning options.

-Be able to preview the car when choosing a paint chip.

-Unlimited amount of unlocked paint chips.

-Start the photomode out in 16:9 mode.

-All premium cars need race modifications.

-Try and fix the aliasing around the cars when rain, smoke, dust is involved.

The GTAuto Repair- I know this is a sim but are they also taking the cliche that all mechanics are crooks to heart? The repair feature is so overpriced it's broken. A Delorean from used cars is over 500,000 credits, to repair the chassis is almost 250,000 credits, and to repair the engine is almost 250,000 credits. Over a million credits for a working Delorean? It has to be an oversight and something that will be patched to work correctly.

Cars are dry in rain- Sure the cockpit view looks nice in weather, but any other view the cars look exactly the same as they do any other time. Is there not a way to at least add some moisture to the car?

Sounds- Why does my car sound the same when I go through a tunnel? Racing games have been getting this detail right since the Genesis and Super Nintendo.

- Off road sounds. You rumble going over rumble strips (with barely any rumble from the controller) But gravel and grass sound exactly the same as being on tarmac. Can they not transfer the Rally off road sounds over?

No penalties for going off road- I can track cut all I want. In fact I was beating the AMG test times gold at Nordschlieffe by seconds. I can see online play turning into who can cut the track most effectively to get ahead of everyone.

Handling off road - I can drive off road almost as effectively as on tarmac. In Shift (and in real life) if you get a tire or two in the grass you're done. But in GT5 you can get rediculous times by cutting the track and going off road.

And of course the Shadows are 16bit bad.

PLEASE: customizable HUD.

With the gorgeous interiors of the premium cars, I should be able to turn off all the redundant, unwanted junk that litters the rest of the screen. I should be able to turn off the shift light, the gear change indicator (and/or flash), turbo boost meter, tire condition indicator... anything, everything, or nothing.

This game needs a LOT of updates but we all know it wont happen. The most important is that they really all should have been premium cars.

-Standard cars are TERRIBLE. Should be removed from the game or updated to premium.
-Standard car graphics are a step backward from GT4/GT3
-No inside view with standard cars

I'd have to disagree on that one. Just dont use them and let the many that do like them, keep enjoying them. And I can't agree about the graphics, only some cars seem worse, not all.

- damage system way more sensitive in full pro mode (one hit-> very much damage)
- way more physical damage ( as a hard hit means to pit in and repair it)
- fast forward and rewind-feature in replays
- slow motion feature in replays
- pit menu need to have a "repair"- option
- reflections on wet surface
- topography setting- feature for track editor
- some more locations for track editor (as a DLC later)
- weather-ability on more tracks

ALL cars should have been premium. 20% of the cars being premium is not acceptable. 👎
Only 20% of the cars were made Premium because of a) time and b) space. Kazunori Yamauchi said he wanted to make all cars Premium, and would have if he could, but the time it takes to render a car in Premium detail would have meant that doing all one thousand cars would have delayed the game almost indefinitely, and there was allegedly not enough space on the disc to make all of the cars Premium anyway. A line had to be drawn somewhere, and so Polyphony settled on making two hundred cars Premium. Be thankful that you got as much - when it became apparent that there was not enough time and disc space to make all cars Premium, Polyphony seriously considered abandoning the concept altogether and making all one thousand cars what is now Standard.

Possibly the best explanation I've read I also understand that 6 months is too long to make 1000 cars and being able to release the game before the end of the console generation. Not having the cars is much worse than having them.

While I agree with the time constrains being a limitation as well as being happy the standard cars are there myself, I have to say the disc space excuse isn't a valid one. Models don't take up that much disc space, the textures take up the majority when it comes to cars. The textures are good but not that good, so my guess is that each car would take somewhere around 20MB. Sure if there were 1000 premiums that's 20GB, but the game as it is make up 19GB, so adding 800 more premiums would only bring that to roughly 36GB. A dual layer DB is 50GB.

Anyhow no point arguing over that since I agree there was no way in hell they would have had the time to model 1000 premiums at the detail they've decided on. What they need to do now is hire more talented modeling staff and get the number up to 500-600ish for GT6 so standards aren't needed.

1. Have an option to disable Auto-Save. It saves at every junction (at least 3-4 times when claiming a prize car, and even getting a car wash), as though the PS3 would shut down prematurely.

2. Get rid of the pre-game prompts that remind you not to power down the PS3 (I mean really, who would do that), and a reminder that the game clock is not sync with PS3 clock (why is it not sync to begin with).

3. Revamp B-Spec similar to GT4's B-Spec. I'm not interested in developing a AI driver personality where the idiocy defies belief and knowledge in basic driving procedures is nonexistent. Managing multiple drivers and their 'experience' and 'personality' is tedious and is equivalent to spoon-feeding the AI, rather than the passive quick-cash method of GT4.

4. Arcade mode car selection needs to be similar to that of GT4 based on manufacturers, and not only a handful of cars from selected classes.

5. Online races should net cash and points rewards. It was implemented well in GT5p so why get rid of it. :indiff:

1. have the option to just boot straight into GT Life
Have it auto click all the pre-game pop ups.

2. Save multiple car setups

3. I dont mind the standard cars, would just be nice to have the option of wheels for them.

4. Kick/Ban option for online multiplayer.

5. Some sort of collision disable option for idiots online who think its fun to go the opposite way on the track.

6. In game message invite so you can easily tell your friends to join your online game without having to exit all the way out.

Optional : Some sort of online rewards system for good racing.

I have a lot of things, but most have already been said. My main is more features for the replays, such as, changing the driver your watching with the dpad instead of having to use the replay menu. Fast forward, rewind and the ability to save replay laps instead of the whole race, plus the YouTube uploading.

Also, why can't you map look left and right to the right stick like most racing games, you can map it to the dpad and I think left stick but, it needs to be on the right slick.

Also, I love collecting paint, but it should not be a one time use and I want to change wheels on standard cars and be able to upgrade them more visually.

I love the game, just hope they patch in this stuff...and saves need to be backupable!

First and fore-most...though many of these are almost simple rants, I want to lead of by commending PD on all the amazing hard work that was obviously put in on this game. It will be stuck in my Station for quite a while! That being said first, now on to the...but,
There many simple things I feel PD just over-looked that really
surprised me this time, and if by any chance I just missed these
somewhere, I to am not perfect and will just be happy to find out that they're there. So here goes...(list by no means in order of importance)
1.Nascar but yet still no drag racing?....d*** it
2.Miles per hour...Thank you! Now why is everything else is listed in
metric?(length,width,ect.)
3.no HUD settings!!?? leader list, lap times, ect. are constantly stuck onblocking view and creating extra retention on my screen. I could care less if Mr. I.B.Anoname is in 2nd place. Maybe as a popup for when im racing my friends or nascar, but not permanent.
4. Some cars have no inside view at all, and others like the viper are to close to where you can see either entire mirror.
5.Most cars from inside the vehicle seem to lack a serious depth in
sound. Unlike the outside rear view, which I'm almost always impressed to the point of driving in the view I dislike the most for the lack of realism.(preference I know, but I own a wheel cmon!! helicopter view with R/C driving, no thanks) I'm in love with cockpit view!(wow edited that sounds wrong)
6. There's no fast forward or rewind in replay yet you can stop to take a picture. So if the pic we want is 20min into an endurance race, do we have to sit by the screen the entire time and hope to pause at the exact second? yey!
7. We have in game brightness adjust but no volume adjust. That's a simple setting.
8.What's with part time personal background music that cuts off directly at the end of the race? We can't listen to it whenever we want to? yey more bosanova!
9. Why is there no sort for NA or turbo tune anymore?
10.There's 0 turbo/supercharger adjustment!!??? JUST on or off???!! Before there was a wide spectrum to tweak it perfect, yet there's no waste gate now....OUCH
11. There's no g27, g25, fanatech support at all...Really? "sorry guys if you own more than a $100 wheel, you're just out of our league."...is that what they're saying?

And so far one of my biggest WT*'s...
Number 12. A transmission is completely mechanical...meaning...if I shift to second, even without clutching, I may grind gears,I may stall, I may do alot of other things...One thing that will never happen!!! I will never, ever, ever just sit in neutral!!!! Does anyone really think that a missed quick shift results in having to clutch back to N then back to gear? Really?
So in temporary conclusion...I've heard this will be the last installment of GT. Hopefully that means everything from here on out is updates and all of these issues, and follow-up postings can be addressed...
Thanks again PD.......Frag

p.s. fixing that occasional video stutter would be cool too....

for the love of your fans PD MMMMMMMOOORRREEEEE :

EVENTS !!!

EVENTS !!!

and EVENTS !!1

we already have plenty of cars guys let us get the events first so we dont get bored of the game i feel GT2 had more events

GT5 is very good game/sim and I though it would be nice to have a place for discussion on what makes it fun and challenging to play, and what might be done to make it better.

A basic guideline on what to post about...
What are your favorite things about GT5?
What features/characteristics would you like added, changed, or removed from the game?

Example:
I like this feature, but can PD make it do that too? (You get the idea)

Reminder:
This thread isn't for bugs, upsets, or for ranting, unless it's a happy rant. Be positive. Thinking creatively and being helpful makes life better for all :)

Well, I won't side track your thread sir..

I love the driving of the game, and the attention to detail. You really customize so much, and in that regard I want testing back. They need the 400m/1000m and top speed tests back so we can monitor what we do on our cars. Also with this, top Gear track needs a standing mile so we can benchmark on that track. It was brilliantly designed in the game, and I think we need to use it for more than a couple short races. Make a test course an actual test course. As great as it's the manage your car in GT5, a bit more would be fantastic.

As the other thread I wrote this in got closed - I will post my suggestion on some new events here:

Before I write my ideas for new events I just want to define some terms...

"Road Cars" - That should be quite clear- cars that are not race cars....
"LM Cars" - Race cars based on a actual road car (like German Touring Cars, Supra Race Car, NSX Race Cars, Corvette Race Car, Viper Race Car etc.)
"Prototype" - Race Cars that are not based on a road car - like the cars that compete in the "like the wind" challenge.

And like it seems usual in GT that there is a car that is "out of class" in nearly every race - that should definitely not be the case in the races I suggest - because one should be able to compete with a car that falls in between the respective category...

"Prototype championship"
- Monza 15 Laps
- Circuit de la Sarte 5 Laps
- Fuji Speedway 15 Laps
- High Speed Ring 15 Laps
-Daytona Road Course 15 Laps
- Indianapolis Road Course 15 Laps
- Nürburgring (GP + Nordschleife combined) (4 Laps)

"Road Cars vs. Race Cars"
Race Cars should be different "RM" Cars

- Nürburgring (GP + Nordschleife) 2 Laps
- Special Stage Rout 5 12 Laps
- Laguna Seca 10 Laps
- Grand Valley 8 Laps
- Cape Ring 6 Laps

Japan vs. US
"RM" cars

- Daytona (Road) 10 Laps
- Indy (Road) 10 Laps
- Laguna Seca 10 Laps
- Suzuka 10 Laps
- Tokio 246 10 Laps
- Fuji 10 Laps

Europe vs. US
Road Cars

- Monza 10 Laps
- Circuit de la Sarte 10 Laps
- Eiger Nordwand (Road) 10 Laps
- Indy (Road) 10 Laps
- Laguna Seca 10 Laps
- Nürburgring (GP) 10 Laps
- Circuti de la Sarte 4 Laps

Europe vs. Japan
Road Cars

- Nürburgring Nordschleife 3 Laps
- Top Gear Test Track 10 Laps
- London 10 Laps
-Special Stage Rout 5 10 Laps
- Suzuka 10 Laps
- Fuji 10 Laps

Also the "Not Tuned Cars" Event from GT4 was nice - but I am not certain if this would be a good idea for GT5 as you can't redo a lot of tuning options... So you would need a second one of the car if you already did this tuning....

All the events I suggested should be championship events and should pay out multiple (different) price cars. So there is more motivation to redo the event In the case of the "Road cars vs. RM cars" event it should be associated with the type of car you use for the event.

Standard > Premium textures and models, dashboard not really bothered about
All cars available from the Dealership a la FM3
Tracks all with weather, and time.
Brake upgrades option
Detailed upgrades list (not stage 1,2,3)
Headlights on off option
Major shadow upgrades, tbh it's simply unacceptable.
More Events!

Possibly the best explanation I've read I also understand that 6 months is too long to make 1000 cars and being able to release the game before the end of the console generation. Not having the cars is much worse than having them.

I call BS on that.

PS3 supports Bluray, yet Forza managed 600 cars out the box, all Premium quality on a 2 DVD's!!! so why not 2-3 blurays, the time fair enough but if you see what turn 10 are doing with FM4, it's making GT5 look like a retro game, and they've turned it round in what 2 years?

ok we can argue the toss over GT5 cars being more detailed, but tbh id prefer a 10% visual degradation on the cars to have the extra 800 boosted 90%
