Think you have a good zoom on your camera?

i remember watching a video do that (the one it mentions on the site might be the video i saw in physics class, my favorite class)

that shows me just how beautiful our galaxy is and how powerful the God i serve is that He created it all with just the sound of His voice...everything from the huge solar systems to the tiny electrons

speaking of electrons...i remember an illustration that if you had a perfect scale model of an electron and nucleus 'lifesize' (no pun intended) that the space between the electron and nucleus would be miles apart...can someone give me more specifics on this? (i really need a refresher on my physics)

I believe that if the nucleus was a pea on home plate in a baseball stadium, the innermost electron cloud would be at the top of the light posts.

I've got a great zoom for what I payed. ;)

That's seriously cool, though. I need to send it to some people. 👍

By my reckoning, if a model of an atom were made, with the nucleus the size of a ball 10 cm in diameter, the electron 'could' would have a diameter of anything between 1-10 kilometers... typically, an atom will have a nuclear radius in the 1-10 femtometer (10-15 m) range and an atomic/ionic radius in the 10-100 picometer range (10-12 m)...

I always wondered, what force is keeping the electron orbiting around the neutrons and protons? Is it gravity? Electromagnetism? I guess I should do a search.

Doh! :ouch:

I did search for the link though (well, the last word of it, which is common to both links) but it seems html links are excluded from searches, and I joined in November 2003. :indiff:

Actaully, I wanted to post the same response...but then I realized I'd seen this before, so I just linked my said response.

Nuclear force if I'm not mistaken. I had my chem class a while ago and I don't need to know this stuff working at GM.

Anyways, cool little video thing.

So the same force, that keeps the neutrons and protons together to form the nucleus, is causing the electrons to orbit? The Nuclear Force is very busy and powerful.

I'm not 100% sure, just look it up on wikipedia.

They must have used my 10x optical zoom Canon Digi to do that! 💡

I like the ones where they make a movie and its a smooth transition through the universe---->cell. If that makes any sense!

Integra Type R
BlazinXtreme, you are correct. It is the "strong nuclear force" that holds it all together.

w00t! I remember my edumacation!

Try this :D

...ok, perhaps that's not from an actual camera (unless a K-Paxian sent it).

Can people see that and truly say their is no other life forms in our universe?
