@SuzukaStar I've seen a few people around here mention the odyssey.

I started playing on another account recently and using the Mitsubishi Lancer, the 70's one. Trying to use cars that most people don't use.

I kinda wish there were more minivans in GT6. A Dodge Caravan or a Toyota Previa would be a great addition.

That car is a beast. I actually had it in GT4 and fully tuning it, making it go about 220 mph. In an online race a few months ago, I was in a 550pp lobby and that Honda Accord creamed everyone in that race, even an M3 GTR. That's what I mean when I say that standard cars are more powerful than people think.


Don't get me wrong, though. I like premium cars, and a lot of them are really cool. I just wish that people showed more appreciation for the standards.

I don't think a lot of people think the standards are less powerful than the premiums. Personally, I avoid the standards because I often enjoy turning off all HUD elements and only use the car's actual instruments when I cruise around. It kind of sucks if for example the fuel in them doesn't work though :p, or if it isn't visible.

I mainly only accept that standards are in the game because it sometimes is fun to find your irl car among them, or one that is very similar. Without standards, some brands have an extremely limited selection of cars, especially cars that normal people could afford. I wouldn't mind getting rid of them, but if they did, they'd have to rework the premium car list and include a good variety from every decade for as many manufacturers as possible.
 
I didnt like the Audi, but I did win the Nurburgring 24 hr with the Odyssey.

I have a lot of memories with the Caldina. First, it helped me get through a bunch of Career Mode events in GT4, and I used it as a drift car in GT5. Haven't picked one up in GT6 though. I like the customizations you did to the Caldina in the picture. Nice yellow.

Surprised you did not like the Audi. It may be slow, but it's a unique, quirky looking car.
 
Just picked up a Volvo 240 station wagon. Handling and acceleration is not that great, but it is a BEAST at drifting. Gets 20k points at Tsukuba.
 
You should put an option like "all good sounding cars" because that is what I like regardless being a premium or a standard.

The Alpine A110 has always been one of my favourites, but in the past few days my love for this little French car has grown exponentially! The reason is that I've started to tinker with the settings: engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, weight and weight distribution. With these settings I'm trying to match the specs of the group 4 rally car and it's starting to shape up real nice. My latest change includes a limited slip differential, which is the key for powersliding around corners :)

It's a shame that it's so rare to see one of these cars online, the same goes for the Renault R8 Gordini. It would also need some more career events, like a Monte Carlo rally...

Thank you. Some people must have thought something along those lines before a 450PP race when they saw the Corsa on the grid ... But I´m pretty sure they didn't forget afterwards, suppressed maybe. :lol:

Thank you eran. This is why I couldn't talk standard/premium topics, I just have too many standards I wouldn´t want to miss. So I don't make a difference.

I hope you will post your Alpine Group4 settings, I'd love to try it.
 
I have sort of an obsession with the Auto Union Streamline. It's one of the most awful looking cars in the game, but it looks passable painted black like a depression-era Batmobile. It was my grinder in Like the Wind race 3 before the RB events were around, and I think it's still my highest milage car. I'm always tinkering with it, trying to make it drivable on as many tracks as I can. Through a lot of trial and error, I've managed to win the other two Like the Wind races with it. If you're ever online at SSRX, I just might turn up.

I really hope they put up another 500pp quick match. I liked going in there with some of my weirder cars, like my white Schwimmwagen.

Funny, that's one of the first cars I bought.

Haven't driven it in a while mind.

The most basic of tunes....SH tires, FCS set at 90 front and 100 rear, trans, full weight reduction, racing brakes 3/2, power upgrades to 400pp, set the LSD at 10/12/5 and gave it a go. Great turn in, excellent rotation, smooth through the corner, but holy guacamole, does this thing power out of the turns! I am sufficiently impressed enough to make it a favorite car!

I got one that I know for SURE nobody cares about...

This car, I mean "Ka" if you're from the Boston area, has a 1.3L engine putting out a massive 60 horsepower and 77 ft-lbs of torque! It weighs 965 kg which is a few hundred kg too much for having such weak power.

For perspective, at Laguna Seca on CH tires, it's over 4 seconds slower than the Mini Cooper 1.3i '98.

 
My favourite car in the game is the 03 Legacy Gt spec b sedan (I sometimes use the wagon for a change even though it's slightly slower), other cars I use often are the Daihatsu storia x4 and the Caldina. I almost always use cars I never see online, some more are the SLK at 400pp and the 120i at 400 and 450. And to the people who are saying they never see A110s, Gordinis, and Focus RS' online need to race more sub-500pp races. A110s are especially popular at 400pp.
