I have 3 digital cameras...
But I forgot, so.......I 'll have to try again...
Now I'm trying to break 300 mph with the Nardo Concept...

hey, what are the rules for entering the top speed thing? and, i got my toyota race car (the one that does the wheelie) to 332.66 without doing a wheelie by disrupting the wheelie settings in the downforce tuning. at first, the car was impossible t steer without spinning it out a couple dozen times, so i tuned it where it turns good, but i think its trying to do a wheelie, but its not making it all the way. the nose lifts up, and the gap inbetween the tire and wheel well top is increased a bit, but it still turns easily while its doing this, so that suggests that its trying to but its not making it. i took a photo slideshow of this process, the front nose goes up, then down in 1-2 second increments. one photo in the slideshow is it moving and at the peak of trying to do a wheelie, the other is it standing still in the exact same place on the track. i have the replay saved, too. and the car hasnt been tuned at all since the race, so im ready to do it again. ill try and get all the pictures up soon. tell me what you think about it.

First of all welcome to GTP!
You can find the rules here

Wtf, I got the Nardo to 298.73...... :dunce: and I don't know if the hp that are lost after some mileage (about 143 miles , not at a oil-change mileage) affect my top speed.... :indiff:

Oh and something else: The Toyota 7 sucks. I can't get over 299.8.......

Hey Guitar, welcome to GTPlanet.

Yeah, that car does have a lot more in it, its current record is just over 366MPH. At a minimum you should have the Stage 4 turbo as well as Nitrous (and set to max power). That's all I'll say for now other than don't assume anything as far as what settings will be faster - just experiment with everything.

Certainly does... But I thought my record was just under 267 mph @ 266.79 :D

Oh, and well done GT_Jim, as a new member of the Club, to refer someone to the Rules!👍

thanks for welcoming me :)
i finally got my toyota race car to 346, and im leled off there. :yuck:
ive maxed out the transmission and changed the downforce characteristics to where it just barely stays on the ground. the nose rases up and bounces on the ground alot during the final stretch, but the wheels never leave the groud. i spent 30 minutes las night with the replay just to prove that :(
anyone have any suggestions for tuning my toyota?
aand, the bentley speed 8's record is at 350 MPH
i tried forever to get that thing to go faster, and all it reached was like 293  im gonna wreck my speed 8 against the turn wall on the test course just to get back at it.

we should have a seperate leaderboard for the las vegas dragstrip, that would be fun :D

we should have restrictions on it though, like, your only allowed to use road cars. racecars would be too easy to use on the strip. I wonder how fast i can make a 69 camaro go on a dragstrip:sly:

hey, does anyone else have a plain white ford gt, one without the racing stripes or gt logos on it? i found one in my garage, and i dont remember where i got it from :D i went to the dealership, and they only sell ones with racing stripes on them. its not a racing model, just a special color.

There is already a thread about the Vegas Dragstrip here
(This is the second version)
About your settings: Try with the final ratio. That's very important. I did 300 with my Nardo by getting the final from e.g. x.x50 to x.x30. Also try different settings to your spring rates etc.

There are restrictions. Well, there aren't but your top speed with a road car is written in the road car leaderboard.

Oh and something else: Edit your posts. You could make these last four into one.
And your last post should be posted in the GT4 General Discussion Thread. :)
Friendly of course. :) :) :) :) :)

It's a bit more than that. ;)

Then your technique is wrong. It shouldn't be too hard to reach say 330mph with the Bentley if the general technique is good. I'm pretty sure I broke 350mph the first time I took it on the test track. Either way though, good luck with that, you'll certainly find that it's one of the more difficult records to beat. 👍

I guess I meant significantly over 366MPH

(And that first digit IS a 3, isn't it?)

Musclecarchris - as MS said you must be doing something wildly wrong, without trying very hard this car can get deep into the 300's. Both MasterStorm's and my videos of our (many) runs with this car are in this thread - watching them may help.

hhmmm. its propably the downforce characteristics i have it set to, that and the suspension. i noticed its extememly unstable entering curves.

Reminds me of my first attempts in a Minolta Toyota - very jittery on the curves.
If possible give this car a chassis refresh, and perhaps a cage.

I agree on the refresh, should that be needed.
I would shy away from a cage as it tends to induce some understeer (when it has any effect at all) and understeer is what you battle in this competition.

hmm...it might need the refresher plan. ive driven it qute a bit trying to break the 300 mark. actually, with most cars i use, i tend to set the downforce characteristics to where i WISH i had more understeer. barely turning the wheel caused me to slam into the inside wall =( hmm...any suggestions on what i should tune my suspension to?

Increase your front downforce. Drop your rear spring rate to 4.0, and the front to 4.2.

I have the RX-7 LM Race car at 299.64 arghhh..........
I know I can do it.... :dopey:
I have a question: Could someone tell me if the LSD affects in some way the top speed? 💡

Yes it does, to a certain degree. You might be able to gain about 3mph if you are very lucky

You will not post multiple messages without breaks (of time or other users' posts) in this, or indeed any, thread.

The Leaderboard is still being quite temperamental...

I suspect he is refering to MusclecarChhris who posted four messages in a row Jan 21 2007, 1:45 PM - 1:54 PM, then triple posted at 3:23, 3:24, 3:25 PM.
