Thirdly, I cracked into the 280's with my Cerbera Speed 12 last night. 282 is my max. Can't get it any higher :(. Heeelp.
After you answer opendriver's question, answer mine:
Have you a spoiler?

BTW 05GT05, clean up your grammar
Unnecessary.

Thanks MachOne.

The Cerbera Speed 12 is a notorious car for first-timers, it takes a fair bit of tweaking - or so I'm told. The two most important questions for that car have already been fielded, so I'll leave the guys who asked them to help you out :)

Opendriver, you really shouldn't tell anyone to 'clean up their grammar' after using an abbreviation, then starting a sentence with a lowercase letter ;)

Anyway, nice speed Pyrelli - I'll check out your video and, hopefully, get the Leaderboard updated 👍

EDIT - I've watched your run, Pyrelli, and although the camera doesn't show great detail there's enough to notice any obvious wheelie, and we know the car is well able to do such speeds legitimately, so... Legitimate run! Nice work :)
Even better, the server is working for a change :doepy:

Leaderboard Updated

Y'ello everybody.

I've been following the thread for a while, and did infact attempt a run with the TS020, but got bored with it. And since I'm even more bored then back then, I re-tried this stuff with the TVR Speed 12. Oddly enough, the Toyota wheelied all the time - yet the TVR managed to keep the front wheels down all the way to 290MPH (which is my current standpoint after 3 runs).

Currently on the Turbo, I'm not sure if the low-down torque of the supercharger is better or not for this stuff... I need some help with the settings. I reckon LSD won't change much, but is a locked one perhaps better?

Update: 293.7. Getting better...

Update 2: Got it :D

303.49MPH using a red, supercharged TVR Speed 12. replay available on request.

EDIT: Whoops. Seems like I need a picture even for such crappy runs... Can I just post the (PAL) replay? It's easier than getting the camera from the other house.

EDIT 2: Attached the replay. Could anyone verify, or make an unneccesary (always struggled with that word) vid?

Hey DE, I will sell you my maxdrive so you can see all of these peoples replays!:D

:::::::::::

But as of now, DE doesn't have a maxdrive(yet), and you don't need a replay for a car like that, or for any run under 350MPH for that matter.

What is your best run in the GT1 so far? You said you got bored, which I think is kind of odd seeing as it is one of the funnest cars to tune IMO. But thats just third place talkin' :D

I got it up to 330MPH, but it wheelied all the time... Got bored of it after a while.

Though, the TVR was really fun. The engine sounds great in the low revs (as long as 4000RPM are low), and it held to the inside line easilly cruising at 255MPH. Veyron my ass.

There's a good reason the rules say, expressly...

All speeds must be proven by photograph of the Session Record screen showing maximum speed in miles per hour
Everything is made pretty clear in the first post. There are no exceptions made.

I'm told that LSD does make a difference, although I don't believe locking the diff is the best way. I don't know an awful lot about 300mph LSD tuning, so you might have to ask one of the faster and better among us ;)

Right. So here's the picture, hope that one's enough:

Picture of proof - already obsolete

Still working on it.

EDIT: Broke 305.95, limited due to the revlimiter. Now trying with widened gears. BTW, do you guys use the tranny-trick?

EDIT 2: 306.97 - out of nitrous this time. Wasted a bit too soon... 307 is my final goal. Any suggestions for next fun car?

EDIT 3: Any help getting another 0.03 out of the car? I did about 20 runs, I guess something needs to be changed with the settings... Currently on softest-everything, minimal front downforce and maximum rear, highest height up front and lowest on the rear. LSD installed, left stock. Nitrous: at 45 clicks, it runs out by the end. Less, doesn't get the power to pass 305MPH...

Sorry for the darkness, but the flash is just too powerfull - needs to be covered with the finger. If you look good, though, you can see the car as well.

1) Of course - and that is just as a starting point to get whatever gear spacing works best

2) Just check out the leaderboard and pick a likely candidate.

3) 20 runs ... BWAHAAHAAHAA - I used up 2 Bentleys and was on my third (total probably around 3000 miles of runs) to get my current speed. I don't think I have a speed on the board that took less than 50 runs - it's those last tenths and hundredths that are the killers.

Keep at it - you'll get there (you know there's at least another 4 MPH in it)👍

I posted a time for my GT-1 but, its not on the leader board. It went 351. I still have the picture if you need it.

Oh and any suggestions for the gear settings or other settings on the GT-1.
*cough* 2078TM *cough*

Cheers... I mean, I did 20 runs with the same settings - so I guess I've hit my limit for those settings.

I've got lots of things that need figuring out, and I don't know - Hard Vs. Soft springs/dampers/stabilizers, especially on the rear... Any hints from the current reigning 300MPH ruler?

If you ask slightly more politely, I might respond in kind. As it is, I will tell you to read the rules in Post One.
Anyway, I can find no such speed posted by you - 352.22mph, yes, but the video was from the inside of the car, which does not provide sufficient clarity of movement with the GT-One. Moreover, the only thing that can be seen is the digital speed readout, rendering the video yet more useless.

I'm told that dampers affect things more than my setups would suggest, and apparently so does the balance between the front and rear springs. The only type of tuning that still remains in my head is 300mph Skylines, and they were rather different to anything else we've had. So, although I was once in the top ten, for really high speeds I'm not much use ;)

But at least I don't beg for help :sly:

Sorry DE i wasnt trying to be mean. I just needed to know that my video was useless a little sooner. Thats all

The same thing happened to me a while ago with the bentley, and yes, I re-did the replay the right way and got my speed up on the board.

still doing some other things with GT4, but I can talk about them in this thread (DE will flog me)

i think we know to who this is addressed!!! *cough*MasterStorm*cough*
Thanks for the props! 👍

Back to the original question, LSD settings do make a difference. This is because when you set it right, the car should be able to deliver a little more traction/acceleration through the corner. The difference is quite subtle on most cars though, so you may not notice it. I don't think LSD deceleration will have any effect for high speed tuning, as it's only applied when the car is slowing down (which isn't something you want to be doing).

Hope that helps. :)

I've got my phone here, so I might get a video up today, if it comes out legible. I might just need to ride the breaks to keep the speed under 350 :yuck:

Ugggg....my phone only records 15 seconds.
