I think im going to go for the non nos record now. That seem a little more in reach than the other records. Does anyone know what it is. If its still Rac3rX's 320 something, I think I might be able to
 
After about four hours of runs I just increased my 88-CV (88C-V? can never remember...) record to 365.75 MPH:sly:. I'll post the vid up in the next few days, as i'm pretty busy at the moment. This I time it felt like having to re-invent the wheel, with extremely slow progress. But what the hell, 0.25 off 366 is good enough for me:). Probably be taking a break for a while while I work on using all six gears push up to 366 which seems a little optimistic at this point. Good luck Opendriver, with your pursuit of another Rac3rX record:tup:. Great speed Viper, gotta love the Cien...

This thread sounds like fun. I never played GT4 enough to hit 300mph yet so I definetly want to try this. I will go over the rules and see what I can do about getting a car to go this 300+.
I am going to dust GT4 off and play for at least 1 day this weekend. Hmm what car to start with. :confused: Mabey the 69 Camaro for the heck of it? I dont think it has the aero to hit 300 but I could try for fun.

well, I don't have slow settings available for 300ZX, so you have to start from a scratch, unfoprtunately.. and my sister borrowed my PS2, so I can't send you my record settings either. :ouch:
 
thanks FormulaGT, i don't really like the gearbox, and i have some problem with the traction.....maybe i can increase it! we'll see, and nice speed with the Minolta.

Am I correct when I ask if we have 1 lap at the test course to set these 300mph+ speeds? Just want to make sure I follow the rules when I attempt this over the weekend.

Yep. The rules in Post #1 outline most of this, you have to do it in Top Speed Test, so you won't actually get a full lap.

Nice going with the Cien, Viper, reckon you can push it all the way to Sucahyo's record?

I just tried my R8 out for the first time in over 3 months and had 357 but I dont think it was legal. Just for fun, I messed with the down force and got 365 out of it. THAT was nowhere near to legal. Ill see what i can stir up....the pot is brewing!!!! :trouble:

Hey guys,:cheers: sorry I'm off topic here, but this is more for Dark Elite, I think this thread should become a whole forum now, it possibly has become the most frequented thread in GTP, every time I go into the tunnings and settings forum I see new posts on this baby. When I say "forum" I mean, having a thread for only 300MPH set-ups for various cars, another for the Leaderboard, another for reports on different runs...etc. I love the intro (first post) and congrats to you Dark Elite, because without a speed challenger like you, many people wouldn't have waken up that hunger and curiosity for speed that they have now (including me)...personally I think this is the best thread of GTP and hope it keeps getting better ;)

I just tried it with the 69 Camaro. I had 514hp and I only hit 219.46mph in 5th gear. While that is quite fast, it is not fast enough for this thread.
Time to try something a little faster. :sly:

Not to knock you or anything but that thing has a lot more in it. At least another 30 mph or so.....

Keep in mind this is my first attempt at trying 300mph.
I just tried the Nissan R92CP and hit 314.57mph. I know its not record breaking but at least I am part of the 300mph club now. :sly: My car got slower and slower each run and kept loosing hp.
I dont know at all what to do for settings. I tried a few things. I turned off all the traction control and took off the downforce. The driving aids are also off.

Congrats on your 366.19! Thanks for the postive feedback. I probably wont come back to this thread much because it really takes a lot of time and adjustments. You guys have a lot more knowledge about this than I do. I could sit here for an entire night and not even get close to the record. Congrats to those at the top of the Hall of Fame. You truly deserve it. 👍
But here is one last one for the heck of it. Mercedes CLK-GTR 305.83mph on 2nd attempt. :)

Just broke my last speed with 366.31, maybe the GT1 doesn't have such a stranglehold on the rest of the pack after all...

That's something I hadn't thought about, it might make things a little easier, but to be honest I like things the way they are - I could make an entirely seperate forum for all this, seperate from GTP, but I think it's good the way it is: it means everything is all here (assuming you can find it :p) and I can keep it all under control, most of the time! :dopey:

It's well deserved indeed, you're almost 12mph ahead of the great Couttsey in his record-breaking 88C-V, and giving the GT-Ones some serious worries! :sly:
I think this may become a battle between FormulaGT and Opendriver, to see who can push closest to the World Record, until one of you breaks it! Keep it going 👍 👍

I myself cant stand the minolta. It's a while new ball game to me, im used to tunning the GT1 back in the GT3 days:sly:

Ill try again on monday to see if I can better my record
