Hey Dark Elite,

Surely all land speed records should be videod to rule out the wheelie tricks otherwise how can it be called genuine and 100% fair?

I went to the effort to proove my speed was real and not a fake, surely those who want the record should do the same?

NOTE: I've just got 354.30mph in the 88C-V. Downforce settings at maximum and still tinkering with the settings but i'll post this video until i manage to be able to beat it or anyone elses record attempt.

Sorry, that's too much hassle for me. Don't have a sharkport etc for doing the videos, so my only method is to mail a memory card to someone, which isn't worth it just for a thread like this. (Edit: just realised that Couttsey's video is a rough, grainy home video. Don't have one of those either. But that quality of video wouldn't be good enough to pass scrutiny at a legit database, I should add, although the run looks just like mine does, from the driver's seat. You'd need to look at a replay from outside the car to make sure the tyres are always in contact with the tarmac.)

I'll be posting all my times at the HGT database in a while, and when I get a bunch of nice records in all vehicle classes organised, I'll get them properly verified using real replays, not rough videos.

Your "verified" listing based on the photos posted in this thread is of course almost worthless, and Couttsey is quite right to ask for replays for all. And his new 354mph time proves that you can indeed go faster, if you try. All you need most of the time is someone to go faster than you to give you the incentive. You can sit back and say "he cheats, must do wheelies to go that fast" or you can get back to the track and keep on tinkering.

All my speeds are legit. But as this is just an informal thread and not a real database, I think I'll call it quits with you guys. Well done Couttsey on that new speed, you seem to know what you're doing, and good luck to one and all.
 
DE, i have changed my mind...ima let your few tenthes of a secound faster R92 time go....maybe another day....im not feeling well lately....peace
 
couttsey, well done. You've quite rightly taken back your record, that run is 100% legitimate 👍.

Toronado, well done to you too. Keep at it, you'll get there soon if you persevere (despite that your 2D says otherwise...) :)

Ozmac. Sorry, but I have to disagree with everything you have just said. I can tell very clearly from almost any quality video whether a car is on the ground or not, you have to be an amateur not to (no offence). At no stage has anybody ever said 'he cheats, must do wheelies to go that fast' here, we only ask for verification to prove that you haven't if you want your records to stand properly. If you don't want to take this seriously then you should not bother posting here at all.

I didn't get 310. Ozmac got 310. I just got closer to him with 308.6.

DE, don't give up on the R92CP, it can go faster than that (maybe not Ozmacs speed, but I've gotten it to go 332+). And that 2D shot was cheap :) .
 
Oh, I'm not giving up on the R92CP yet. I just want to see if the R89C goes any faster, and that means eternally-goddamned mission 34 has to be done... I'm only 2.1 seconds off the Gullwing! If I don't get the mission cleared in the next few days I'll take my (thousands upon thousands of miles used black) R92CP out again. In fact, I think that's where I'm losing out - the car's so worn out... :indiff:

BTW there's a certain car almost nobody has tested, which I'm going for 225mph in to show I do still, have some talent for speed left :)

I would imagine the CTR Yellow Bird having more of a chance of getting there than the CTR2 as it has a higher documented top speed IRL than the CTR2 anyways. No updates on the 2D as of now.

well people, it would appear as if lowizle may soon be back in the game....things have been going well, i hit 75% last night, and as a bonus also turned over the calander to the day when the black beauties appear....i bought em all....and am left with a messily 1.4mill, but once i get my cash flow rollin again, you will see some broken records....peace till then

1989therat, many people said that Skylines can only do 260mph, my road R33 did 274.xx so the impossible is usually possible ;) the CTR-2 may well become a 300mph car!

Low, good to hear that you'll be back soon ( :scared: ). I ran out of cash at the first BlackBeauties appearence, thus missing out on the R390 :( but I did get everything else to console myself :). Thus, I can't try out an R390 because I AM NOT paying 4 500 000cr. for that thing. Even though it has a sweet engine note :indiff:

Anyhow, the BlackBeauties left me with only 800 000cr. so don't expect anything new from me either.

DE, not to steal your glory or anything man, but since your tapped out on cash, and i already had the R390 Gt1 race car(black), i decided i would find out if it was capable of the big three zero zero, indeed it is, i actually beleive its capable of more...but i manage to get it to 308.86 on my first run, (yeah im gettin good with my settings...) and it could have gone more...but i will leave that to you to find out, heres the pic for verification, and dont forget to add me and my new car to the list :sly: peace

{EDIT} i just got it up to 311.42, im done now...oh and its a really stable car at 300 with minimum down force....quite shocking...
 
Hehe 1989, mine's not Japanese! Guess again.

Lowizle, no problem mate it just means I've got a target to aim for when I finally get my hands on an R390 :)! I'm not surprised how stable it is really, what with it only being ... seven years old now. It's like the Zonda being super-smooth too. You'll go on the list as 308.86 confirmed, or do you want to be 311 unconfirmed instead? Just wondering.

EDIT - Oh yeah Viper, I'm using an R33 GT-R VspecII N1 (1995, I think.. yeah...) with ~700bhp. Obviously it's used though, with about 40,000mi on it :(

Finally completed the Formula GT Champ, so I've got the Sauber!! :) Plus I can change cars again now! It's tough finding time to get through 15 2 hour races. I'm gonna have a look through the thread and see what's begging to be done.

Edit: Just pushed the Sauber to 308.54mph. I don't think it's going to give much more, I ran out of laughing gas before the end of the run.

Dark_Elite do you need pictures to varify the speed of the cars I got to 300 + mph? If so will a snap shot of the records page do as all my 300+ cars are on there?
 
M5_dude, you been lurking all this time :sly:? Yes, for verification I need a picture really, and for exceedingly fast records I could do with a video too. Pictures are fine for yours.

Yo Eddie. Well done with the Sauber, that's the record for that car at the moment :) I'll put it up now 👍 We'll have to see if it can do any more (well... You'll have to... I'm NOT B-Speccing the Nurb 24hr to get the F1 car so it'll be a while until I can get it to get the Sauber!)

heh, alright, i wont be setting any records for about 5 more hours...im finishing my endurance hall, and unfortunantly..the last one i had to do was sarthe 1,i only have like 3 hours left, but when i finish it, ima be taking a good 2 hour break to relax....as i am aspecing it....but after that ill be back on track....
 
well, i have fallen in love, her name is.........Audi,R8....man i love this car...its so well behaved that i just had to try and shatter the record coutsey set with it...but to no avail, i fell short.....some ima let it go for now....but i did manage to hit 329.59....heres the pic, peace

Well done Low, superb effort at Le Mans there 👍, not sure I could cope with the full-on twenty-four hours! Congrats with the R8, and I hate to see you that close to couttsey but not quite there :ouch:

Oh and by the way, I've got another road car very close, so we'll have a new member soon for sure. I'll post a picture and some info when I do it (Saturday most likely).

Wow... That would be the road car record (my project mentioned above failed gallantly at 289.4xmph, by the way). Because road car 300s are so elusive, I'll have to have photo evidence before you go onto the leaderboard. Well done.

EDIT - I've just noticed you have clearly not read half of the thread :irked: please read the posts on (at the very least) the record you're going for :lol:
