Try adjusting the rear springrates and rear stabilizers. And, of course, full rear downforce.
I will, although it seems I'm at the optimal settings for both at the moment...

Viper
maybe play a bit with toe-settings or so...
I have already, and I'm at the best possible toe setup too! :boggled:

Rayquaza
As i just found out sadly, it can reach only 244.1
Bet it can do more than that, but I'm pretty certain the SLR is not 300mph-capable.

topgeardude
Just did 256.69 in an SLR,but it won't go any faster.
Again, bet it will, but I don't really feel like buying one just for that. :p

I might get a bit more out of my RX-8 - or at least try to - tomorrow morning.

DE

Hi all :D
For a glad surprise, my grandmother now has a pc, (not new, but works fine!) and with internet access too xD So i could come here before i go back home =). Lots of comments.. So let´s begin

nice speed Ichi, well done 👍

Thankyou Viper! I haven´t more time yet to turn my PS2 On, but as soon as possible i will try to improve it more and more ;)

come on D.E., you can do it!!

Agreed! I did it and DE will do it too xD Go DE Go! \o\

2078TM
Come on, you can do it, it'll give me an excuse to get the RX-8 out of the garage

Thanks man! Be sure i will try a lot xD. If i make you take your Rx-8 out of the garage to beat a speed of mine will be more then a honour for me XD

Dark Elite
Congratulations, Ichi! Well done!
I know just how much work this car takes, and you've beaten me to it :D
Keep on improving!

Hope I've got here quick enough, happy Christmas to you too! 👍

Updating Leaderboard...
Through the very slow server...

EDIT @ 1050 - FreeWebs is responding too slowly, I've had it working for over ten minutes now, I'll have to leave the update for later :indiff: it's all ready, just needs implementing. The server's been on a go-slow recently, but now it's at an all-time low.
EDIT2 @ 1253 - And it's still loading. Hmm. I'll leave it going for another hour and see what happens :indiff:
EDIT3 @ 1601 - This is not good... :boggled:
EDIT4 @ 1832 - It lives!
Leaderboard Updated

DE

Thankyou DE. Really thx! I couldn´t done it without the help and incentive from you and of some other drivers here :D Anyway, i´m still sure that you will beat me :D And don´t worry about the problems with the leaderboard, it happens :D Ah, thx by the Christmas 👍

I will keep trying to improve it! But by now.. the things are getting really hard =]

The RX-7 LM racecar has done it too, Leon :p

When i got time to spent on a 4h endurance, (But just after i give up the Rx-8, what is not going to happen soon :D), i think i will try it too 👍

As for my RX-8, well, after almost an hour I've managed to get her up to 299.50mph. And now I'm really running out of ideas... I think a total re-gearing will be needed to get any more out of her.

C'mon DE. I have runned out of ideas at 293, 299.35, 299.50, 299.90 xD
I know you can do it :) You´re too much better in this then i am! And this car is normally hard.. but i know you will beat it!

Try adjusting the rear springrates and rear stabilizers. And, of course, full rear downforce.:sly: 👍

I would suggest it too.. but you have already said that you already tunned it up.. =]

good luck with the RX-8 LM D.E., maybe play a bit with toe-settings or so......

viper

I didn´t change toe settings yet.. good idea :D

I will, although it seems I'm at the optimal settings for both at the moment...

DE

Go DE Go :). You will make it! And If you want i will be glad to PM you with my setup.
And as a suggestion, if you already know (what i think you do, as you are too much more experienced then me), excuse me:

- Try R5 tires;
- Run close to the most inside yellow line of the road; The surface of the road in a more external line just KILL this car. :D
- Try to get a longer 5th gear. Then more it works @ 7k, 7.5k Rpm, better :)

I´m not going to suggest suspension settings, as of course that i trust you when you say that you are with the best settings as possible! 👍

Ps: I got to turn the PS2 on tonight, hope to get a little improvement. If i do, i keep you posted!

Cheers:tup:

C'mon DE. I have runned out of ideas at 293, 299.35, 299.50, 299.90 xD
 But, as you say, I've been doing this a lot longer! When I ran out of ideas, it wasn't a matter of trying out something I hadn't done before, I've done them all! Thanks for your support, though, I'll get her there soon!

Ichi
And If you want i will be glad to PM you with my setup.
Of course not, I'd much rather do it myself! Thanks for offering, though.

Done, done, and done. :)
Although, my 5th gear still needs a bit of work. It's running to 260mph now, would do more but the powerband doesn't really want to go right to the rev limiter. So, although my driving line needs a little work, that's all there is left. Don't worry, I'll catch you up :D Thanks a lot :p 👍

i got this advice from you some time ago.........
Yeah, that was my entire point. If I remember correctly, it was that very advice which helped you push the RX-8 LM Race Car over 300mph for the first time, hence why I feigned deja-vu! ;)

New project,300 mp/h W12 Nardo.
You should stick with that until you reach 300mph, rather than repeatedly starting 'new projects'. It's certainly capable of 300mph (I should know, I hold the record with it). It's quite a good project actually, as it clears 300mph with enough headroom that you don't have to resort to precision fine tuning and tweaking, yet it's not so fast that you can neglect the basics of high speed tuning. Good luck. 👍

absolutely right.......well said 👍

lot of time passed since the RX-8, and i was really glad for your help, thanks!

MS, talking to topgeardude is now officially a waste of time...

Nice to see some activity from you again MS, thanks for your PM. I was actually already using that method, so it must be something else. Probably some stupidly obvious thing I've missed, knowing me  thanks anyway! 👍

Well, I did not see that he was banned. However, I still hope he and others will read and learn from my advice.

Interesting. Feel welcome to send me parts of the setup, and I may be able to spot some things you've missed out. Of course, you don't have to do that, if you wan't to keep your techniques to yourself. Either way, I'm sure you will get there. It's difficult, but not impossible. 👍

Anyway, I don't have access to the vdeo capture card whilst I'm staying with the parents over Christmas, but before I left I managed to get a video of my Chaparral 2D doing over 210mph, just as I have recently claimed.

Chaparral 2D @ 212.19mph [video] [YouTube]

Not the best recording (it's a little jittery in places), but it's clear enough. If your wondering why my control is so bad, well, have you ever tried driving car with rear wheel steering at over 200mph!

Unless it totally and utterly beats me, I won't be sending any setting through to you - you know I don't like new members asking for setups, so I'm not going to just yet! Set an example, and so on :)
But thanks for the offer 👍
The rear spring rate might possibly have something to do with it. That and the LSD, which I haven't touched, I'll get to after my re-gearing

Of course not, I'd much rather do it myself! Thanks for offering, though.

You're welcome =]. And you are just like me, DE. I, just as you, feel that the only right and correct way is do by myself too. I offered just because of our friendship, nothing else :D

Done, done, and done. :)

I was sure that you have done it =]

Thought that might be the case. I'm with you on the asking for setups, that's why I never give away more than just the basics. For me, it's the challenge that makes 300mph tuning fun. Anyway, good luck, I'm sure you'll get to 300mph with the RX-8 soon! 👍

Thanks guys. Ahh, festive spirit has come over the 300mph Club as we all cheer each other on...

Well, as you all watch me drag my RX-8 around at 299mph  ;)

Chaparral 2D @ 212.19mph
You complete and utter madman
   That is ridiculous! But still spectacular. Huge credit to you for that!
And when you've completed it, with only a couple of wall-knocks, the AI takes over - and totally stuffs it. Classic :D

I've added a YouTube link now in the original post

It makes me wonder how fast some other cars can go in reverse! Guess I'm just a high speed madman!

Couldn't have said it better, myself. Congrats, MS. Your insatiable quench for speed--in any direction--is admirable and awstrickening.

Congrats to you, commrade!

I'm gonna try and get 300 mph out of a Daimler Motor Carriage. :p
No but let me think, ddid anyone get a 300 mph out of a Saleen?

MS, you're nuts - but entertaining. 👍

To all the 300MPH's - Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

I'll be gone until 2007 - we are going on a trip to Peru to see Machu Picchu (part of our list of places to see before we die :))

I just can´t wait to post this!

DE, hope you read this soon! Need a friend to share this!

So, here come the news:

I was just with my Rx-8 LM (Again :) ) running at 300.14Mph.
About hours after, i have just got .01Mph of improvement. But at this moment, i just see that my car was lacking hp again, at 874Hp from 877. This, of course, WITH oil change. Then i decide to tune him up to 300.20Mph even with less hp, before change to a new one. After more time training, i made a HUGE change in the gearing. "All or nothing, let´s go!" I said myself. At the end of the test, 299.55Mph. This, @860Mph, this time WITHOUT oil change. So..

If i had 17Hp more, and supposing it could give me 0.8Mph, i would have at least 300.35Mph, what would be a nice record.

Thinking this way, i could not wait and just entry in the Rx-8 cup again.
5 races later, New Rx-8 in garage xD
Tunned it up, oil change, the old pratice - "I wash you - you get faster" :D
Then i set him with the exactly settings of the oldest Rx-8, now resting in my garage.
I was hoping for 300.30Mph, with luck and a good run.

TIME TO TEST! 👍

I hit the X button at the start of the max speed power test. The RPM metter wasn´t going up fast.. but.. don´t cost to try, huh?
Second gear in..
Third gear..
gear four..
gear five..
A second before the NOS time, i was about 245~246Mph. Best speed ever in this moment.
NOS on, 6th gear at it´s full power.. keep going, you´re doing well..
287Mph at the end of the tunnel..
290..
295..
299..
300..
301??
WTF?

The big 301 number as fast as the car pop into my screen, to my big surprise, and extremely shy, give his place to the 300 number as i pass the endline.

Result of the test:

300.65Mph

Session RECORD!

My grandmother is just asking herself right now why i was so happy and screaming when i got this result xD

I think still there is a little more to get, even if it means just 0.05Mph, driving better, and tunning something in the gears.

Now the sad part: As some people know, i´m not at home. In my grandmother PC there is no web cam =\ And my only way to take the photo is my father cellphone. I taked it, and as soon as i tryed to send it to my email, the phone take my happyness away: "Digital signal needed to transfer images". Damn old city with analogic signal ><

I hate to post speeds without pics. Much more one that i needed 3 cars and about a month training to get. Much much more the best speed i ever get :D

So, i´m sorry by not post it right now. As soon as i find a way, i will post it here! And i will still try to make some more :) 👍

Anyway, time to drink something, and have some rest. I think i deserve it, i just have taken the Rx-8 LM to 300.65Mph! :D

Cheers, and Merry Christmas to you all =]
