Oooohhhhhh, this looks like a reason to break out my harlequin-style Audi TT and give it some Tsukuba Time Trial facelifts...

Yes! Golded the Nissan Fubu one. I wasn't so sure as I was struggling big time. Thought I was in trouble but managed to get within .060" of gold and thankfully the top time didn't move as I hadn't touched it again since last week. Didn't even bother on two of my accounts to attempt to gold from a solid silver as I didn't like this combo at all. But all it takes is one account in gold!

Now, onto wet Tskuba! This should be interesting, but I see the same Saudi is at it again.

It was a new personal best after grinding away tonight of 1:15.797. I put in over 100 miles, about 50 more than planned trying to find that extra tenth. This is my first time breaking into the top 100, and I'm praying it will stick for a few more hours. Regardless, it will be my best finish ever in a TT. :dopey:

That said, I was frustrated I left some time on the track. On my fast lap, I evidently nailed the banked turn because I never was able to replicate that sector time again. Unfortunately, my final sectors were only so-so on that lap. I never could match my best time despite gaining roughly 2 tenths every lap in the final two corners alone. It felt like I would lose at least those 2 tenths and then some in the aforementioned banked turn. Optimal lap was 1:15.449. sigh

Look ma, I passed a Finn!! But I still couldn't best @Dan_Tes. :irked: Worst of all, I forgot to save my fast lap replay. :banghead:

Great time Sir Drago! It feels good to be the special relationship meat in the Finnish Sandwich! Congratulations on your Top 100 finish too, that is no mean feat! Being on the first page is such a good feeling, I'm still amazed every time I manage it.. An unfamiliar/unpopular car and track usually do the trick as I think 99% of people don't have the patience to grind them out leaving the door open for losers like me :dunce:

I've watched a few track guides for Le Mans using the C9 as I tried a few laps and didn't even make it TO the start line . I did read a comment on Tidge's video saying do a few laps so the Hard Tyres can warm up; I thought that tyres were always at their optimum temp on time trials?? It looks pretty daunting to me, I will never be a fan of the track and I don't own the car sadly so I have to put up with that incredibly dull paint scheme too! UGH. I don't get why so many people enjoy this one and not Willow! But then again I am a very very strange boy :(

They are... Lots of world records are straight from restart from what I've seen (olympic one for example).... So 99.9% you don't need any warming up tires it doesn't do anything just placebo

Congratulation on the 15's @Dolph Drago and your best TT placement ever!, hard work payed off!
There are beeing clocked some insane times there on Willow!, i'm not mentioning any names.... @Blayney 👍:bowdown:

i didin't try again because i wanted to lower my Le Mans time and was happy with my 1.16.149 and place 341 :) , that said....on to le Mans this morning.

Like i say during every TT  i'll say it again...., sometimes faster laps doesn't have to look faster :irked:
I had somany cleaner laps than this that were so much slower, i can't get my head around this one....
If you watch this lap you'll see that i missed somany apexes it's not even funny, i had sector times way lower but eventually came out of the Porsche curves and thought... huuuh??..., this is not that bad timewise..?!! and crossed the line in 3:24.050, it's still not my '23, but for such a long lap i'm allready happy!

And even more happy because of all the errors i made, so i think a 23' must be possible for me, never thought that i could be fast on Le Mans, never worked for me, but maby the grinds helped :lol:

3:24.050

Go Mario!! How do you brake so late, yet not overshoot! Especially on Arnage corner, which always seems to lose/kill my lap - it appeared like you braked right at the 2nd sign and I feel when I do that, I go wayyy too deep into the turn. I'll have to watch that section on 0.5-speed to see your line and brake use. Congrats, 23-seconds is certainly in your grasp, especially if you consistently nail the dreaded double chicane at the end - it gave me some ideas!

I hope it gave you some ideas indeed! so you can claim that medals :-)
For Arnage i do brake "On" the board here and try to trailbrake just a tiny bit in corner otherwise i won't make it haha, i find this a lot easier than to be completely off the brake while turning in, BUT.....

I stuffed up the esses before that so your exitspeed could have been a lot higher, than i would brake a little earlier indeed :)
This one altho it hasn't that much corners is a real pain in the a*ss , and your lap looked waaayyy smoother than mine, so i'm positive you can get a lot lower!!

Just to add to the above, while there is always opportunity in braking later and mastering trail braking, given the rate at which these Group C cars build speed, I feel that there is more lap time opportunity in the apex to exit area of each corner I.e. work out how to get on the power harder and earlier.

Consequently a more measured approach into a corner to ensure the exit is nailed seems to make sense to me. Using the WEC cars is a different style based on the limited laps I did in the 919 as the lap time comes from the corners.

Maybe I’m wrong and YMMV, but that’s where my head is at on this TT right now…

Edit: I’m only at a low 3:24 so you’ll be better off listening to people in the 23’s and 22’s than me 😂

This new TT is a super fun combo and from what I have seen, should make for a very easy gold as well.
Hopefully this is the break away in difficulty for some people that they have been asking for. A crazy amount of my friends list is within 1.5%, let alone the Gold region.

Currently sitting at a 1:08.524 myself (0.91% from 1st but still only 7th on my friends list!). I can definitely squeeze a couple more tenths out of it but I have always struggled to be consistent in wet conditions so it might take a little to hook it together.

Delighted to see the back of Willow Springs - posted a 1:18:040 and a 1:17:873. Early days posted a 1:18.115 or so without "studying" lap guides. Then got a bit frustrated as was making no progress on this and Le Mans, so kind of threw the towel in on Willow. Improved on Le Mans over the weekend so went back to give Willow a go - I really felt I was driving better, was doing better 1st sectors, and picked up some time in other sectors - closer to the Ghost and even beat it occasionally in some sectors. The times did not tumble, optimum times improved but even they got nowhere near gold.
Anyone who needs a lovely Irish flag on their leaderboard - especially those currently on a silver streak like me - feel free to add me - PSN is n-o-cal - PSN symbol is a solid orange circle thingy.

Just finished watching wec hyperpole at lemans.
A was bit of surprised by the poor (for its standars) realization of the very lateral portions of Hunaudières.
On TV you clearly understand that they are not a drivable portion of the circuit on regular racing lane.
On Gt7 the visual difference is close to nothing, at least on Ps4. Forcefeedback on the other side tells you back that the surface is far from being smooth.

Can't wait for tomorrow.
It's payday baby, and i'm coming back with a vengeance! (read - box wine)
I'll be hitting Tsukuba, more specifically the first barrier, and cheering you all on as you drive past the flaming Audi wreck :sly:

Have a great weekend everyone and good luck!

3 more laps without race infos on the screen, a bit less slow than yesterday, optimum 2s below best lap... consistency is failing, but maybe with a bit of training everyday...

I face this like a Track & Field running interval training. You have to watch the clock in order to keep or increase the pace. It’s stressful but I think it’s the only way to be fast.

Thanks! I'm amazed I only dropped 1 spot in the waning hours. It's wild to get on the GT rankings page and see your name on the first page. I don't know if I'll be able to pull that feat off again.

That is a strange time at LeMans to say the least. Good, though! The lap was scrappy, but man you nailed the final chicanes.

Gave the new TT TT (not a typo :D) a go. All three accounts are in gold. Best time is a 1:09.3 (with a horrid last turn) and worst being a 1:09.5 (I don't think I'll have to revisit that one, but ya never know).

I've decided I don't like Tskuba. For racing it's horrible; for TTing it's not too bad. What I don't like are the slow, sharp turns... only because I gotta turn the wheel so darn much after a handful of laps my shoulders are yelling at me. And yes, I've got the wheel setup for min inputs = max angle. Getting old[ish] sucks.

Driving in the wet is cool and I am glad PD threw it in this TT for something different.
