I went back to Willow today for a run. Sector 1 was rapid for once (22.171), but I messed up the left at the beginning of sector 2 - a corner I normally nail 9 times out of 10. I just...I don't know what happened. Maybe I got distracted seeing my first sector split pop up on the screen. Anyway, sector 3 was decent (around a .5 flat), though in subsequent sessions, I was able to dip into the .4s. It ended up being almost a tenth pickup. Tomorrow is the last day for that TT, so I figure I'll give it one more go.

In Willow I got stuck at 12,380! watching the best replays I realize that there are several ways to approach the turns here! I'm really surprised to see that some people don't brake at all in places, for example in T2 or on the crete like you Dolph Drago...it's crazy! I think I don't trust the car enough...I don't know...a little frustrated not to reach 11'

05:45...... the GT7 Alarmclock beeps again..... the eyes feel heavy from all the mornings chasing my fellow addicts here..
Stumbled down, put on the christmas tree made myself a double espresso and booted up.

did a few warmup laps to get the feeling, and to get my hand warm cause i just fired up the heating in the house and i takes some time, and the cats need attention otherwise they certainly are going to kill you fastest lap later on

I kind of got in the flow of consistently driving 20.7 and 20.8..
i remembered watching @half_sourly lap yesterday with a very smooth busstop so i tried to better mine, i found out that i can actualy brake later than the 400m sign and have some sort of smoother drift pass were i gain on Metal, ( i loose it on the right hander exit after that, his exit is realy insane there as he already mentioned ) but i can not pass it consistently that way...

But all my fast laps were distroyed at the last to corners, the last corner just didn't click today, i had multiple low .3xx S-time before the forlast corner but stuffed it up every time....

Optimum were .575 today when i ran a 620 which got me in the top 100 again at i think 84 or so...

Started again fresh an had time to do a few more laps, busstop was a little better now lap after lap.
But sticking it all is damn hard here, don't know why, but hunting you guys for thousands of a second is very hard here!
The leaderboard is insane.

Did had one descent lap but with a crappy first sector, but still got my PB down to a 1:20.608...
(@Evilmuffin has to be laughing right now ) which places me 77 at the time of driving, not bad, but kind of unsatisfied because there is more in it, but i don't think i have the time again to do a session before the next one is up, so i think this is it for me folks!

The leaderboard of terror :lol::lol:

I will upload my lap today but didn't have the time this morning, had to race to work already

At WG somehow I managed to do a faster lap with AT on the Remote Play Portal, than MT with a proper controller. Need to put in a few laps this weekend to correct the weirdness.

Had to abandon the America First experiment at Big Willow. Just too uncompetitive in the hands of an average joe like me. Got a solid silver in the BRZ on the first lap. May go for gold tonight if I have time - Cyberpunk and Baldur's Gate have taken over my gaming life, don't really play GT7 much at the moment.

Thats was a great run DOLPH, I am gonna try and emaulte your run, that exit run on Sector 2 and see if I can vastly impove my time today before the TT expires.

Very insightful and good to see you hitting the no brakes rule! :sly:

Share my results later on today if I see improvement, if not then revel in these fast racers till the next trial pops up.

I loved the Idea of American GT3 at Big Willow and kinda liked the Ford LM and the Corvette (golded the CE). But in the end I hadn't enough time to evolve but went straight to the BRZ. There is 0.5 seconds left to my optimum but unfortunately I'm afraid that I won't return before the weekend.

The alpine is a great car I would love to drive IRL. Maybe I can do better next week... Happy lapping everyone!

@half_sourly

I am sure you are quite busy already but if you still take graph ideas I have one - I am pretty sure a lot of people in this thread improved a lot thanks to expericences shared here. It would be cool to visualise this with a graph for certain user with X axis being consecutive TTs and Y axis being performance - either percentile or place. Please disregard this idea if that is too much work though!
I can do this, but given we have around 100 players I will do it only where someone directly asks me for it.

Is this the sort of thing you had in mind?

Final few cars under testing now!

I had to give the F1 GTR a shot, couldn't resist its pull. It spoke to me like "Tume, Tuummme...please drive me", and I did, and it was good enough for gold.

650S done soon as well, very stable to drive so it's an easy car to draw speed from.

Planning to still drive the NSX, Huracan and obviously BRZ. Maybe I can fit in one more car.

With most of the recent results admin out of the way, I've been able to spend a bit of time driving again. I didn't really enjoy Big Willow (decent time and safe gold set - 1.12.123) so have been spending time at Watkins Glen instead. I'm wildly inconsistent and today showed that. After hitting a few 32.7x in S1, including a 32.710, the lap I did my best S2 and S3 was a S1 of 32.946...!? So I suspect I'll be going back!

Slight improvement today, putting me in a @Gomario JSP @Evilmuffin sandwich.

It's rare that I have a fighting chance of a top 100 spot, so I'm piling in. Especially since there is another tenth if I could string three sectors together...
There is room indeed for me too, but time.....🤣🤣, I could set my alarm at 5am? 🤔🤔🤣..

I love it that GTplanet is so well represented in the top right now, we must be doing something right 😁

I hope you nail another lap and get yourself unsandwiched, go get it! 😁

I have been home for few days now, sick with high fever and everything that comes with it. No so much energy to focus on current two TTs.
Willow Springs is ending so I made myself push a bit last evening. What I wanted to say and ask quick controller aliens, @NAXEHT, @Gomario JSP @Evilmuffin ... you that are on first page in one of these two current TTs, what are your settings on controller, for ABS and steering sensitivity? I am asking because I had ABS on week and steering sensitivity on 10, and since Willow Springs is ending tonight, wifey asked me to get her gold, and when I play on her account I sense BRZ turns easier, and her settings are ABS default and steering sensitivity 3.

Got OK time, if I would put some more effort I could improve a bit, but this is also good, I believe.

Done 25 laps, part with no race info on screen to not disturb me, but it is a bit all or nothing, I don't know how much laps I've done, my lap time only if I beat my record and so on. So switched on race info around mid time.

No improvement. My best lap was a tiny bit better than record but invalid lap (and the next one too...)

Tried with a slightly quicker ghost, it seemed to help a bit, I'll use it right away tomorrow.

Optimal not going down anymore.

Looks like I reached my ceiling on this event.

What race info are we talking about and how are you switching it on/off?

I go in settings and to display settings (or something like that, my UI is in french) and I can select which info I want to display on screen. With all race info off, there are no numbers whatsoever on the screen, just the view of what's in front of the car (and the lap time record on the left, plus the chrono on the top)

ABS default and controller steering sensitivity at 10.

This is what I see when I go on settings, display. No race info here?

Spent a little longer at WG today. 30 laps was about all I could focus after picking up an extra shift at work last night.

I managed a small amount of progress over my time from yesterday but my optimals are now showing another couple tenths. I know I can get a 1:20 lap.

First of all, get well soon mate, hope you feel better soon!

FWIW, for both TT's I'm at ABS weak and controller sensitivity 6, the ABS has almost become standard on weak, I have the feeling that I feel more like this in combination with the weak haptic instead in strong.
I tried Watkins with default but was slower, then again, maby I got used to weak?
The sensitivity I almost don't toutch anymore and more adapt to what it is, only if it's mega snappy I'll change it , BRZ time is nice!

Ok so I tackled the BIG WILLOW TT one last time, I dont think I can any more time in and I only slightly imporved my time that I posted down a few tenths to 1:12.916! :dopey:

It is a much better run and will post images and video tomorrow, even tryied to dabble with the Renault RS.01 and the JAG F-TYPE gt3 racecars, but thats all I cud muster int he short time left.

Happy lapping guys!! Still gotta tuck into the Alpine one at Watkins.
