I have some kind of deja vu from the Audi R8 TT now... 🤪😂

IMG_20250908_163320.webp

Strange thing, sometimes you drive hundrets of kilometers without getting anywhere and than there are three 2:04,1xx within 20kms.

Lost quiet some time at the final hairpin due to my suddenly wet pants, but at least it was good enough to safe the 2nd place. 😬

I was once again about to give up and go for a drink... 😂😂

It's definitely not going to be enough and I'll have to go back, but even if I don't improve, at least I'll have had the gold medal for a while...

This car is killing me... I'm too old for TTs like this... 206 km and I'm dead...😅

Tonight, it's time for the Clio...😂😂

Don't be me.

Me: sets highest TT time ever
Also me: G29 dies

I'll be out for a good while if my testing and diagnosing comes back as feared guys. Almost feeling like my G29's swan song...
That's a real shame buddy, very sad to hear!
Hope you will find a way to replace some things soon, cause your haulllling with them big boys lately 🙄🤪🤣

But now is the time to beat you Seca time on the pad then..... 🤣

Hope you can fix things very soon mate!

@Ed_Night well....that kind of a descent result 🤣💪👌🙏🙏
Crazy fast German 🫡

Would this be the first 1 - 2 for GTP leaderboard members ever if it holds?

Well fellas, seeing what @A_Higher_Place and @Ed_Night have achieved with the Clio it’s fair to say I won’t even be attempting that one 🤣

But I did have another go at everybody’s favourite trial today and boy was it frustrating! It was one of those where I made real progress almost everywhere yet couldn’t improve much at all. Sometimes robbing Peter to pay Paul on corners… but we did a little
Improvement. I might revisit on Wednesday but I need my blood pressure to return to human levels first!!

Hey guys,

very short on wheel time atm, so I have to choose wisely where to spend it. At Laguna Seca I am still not even two tenths into gold at 1:06.158. I think a 1:05.5 would be possible with a bit of dedication, but I really don‘t enjoy the combo, so I guess I‘ll take the gamble and hope there‘s no last minute miracle lap 🤞… I mean even more of a miracle lap than the current WR.

There‘s still more than enough time for the NSX, and I have a safe gold from my first session, so … that leaves the Clio.

What a fun car, and an almost Zen-like experience compared to the Corvette mayhem. Precision is key here. Given the low power output, the long straights punish any ever-so-slightly botched corner exit. The room for error in hitting the right shift point is equally small.

Mission accomplished for now, which is to enter the top 100 and contribute to @Gomario JSP ‘s Leaderboard of Terror™ 😜

However the lap was close to my optimal already, so when he inevitably hits back, I have a problem 🤣

Sorry to hear that. But at least it went out with a bang. What a lap!

Only if Ed decides to join the board. @Ed_Night please don‘t 😅

No screenshot today, but I did an initial few sighting laps in the Corvette just to see what I was in for without actually setting a lap.
Didn't actually set a lap time yet as I'm not sure I really want to enter this.

Only managed 30km before the car started to make me feel motion sick. This might've been because I was too tired having not slept properly the previous night, but I think its more dramatic to say the Corvette is so fast, it made me sick.

Of the couple of laps I completed, its looking like I'm between 2-3 seconds away from gold. Although I was seeing big improvements in the first 2 sectors even after the short stint. However the final sectors weren't looking so good.

The left hander before the corkscrew seems particularly difficult to judge. Getting the turn in right was a big struggle and then trusting the car enough to put the power down on the exit without running wide. I think I lose 2 seconds just in that corner and following straight alone.

I'll have another proper go of it tonight and see how I fare, but may end up just not putting a time in here. This track is just too small for this car, and the sausage kerbs like to send it understeering off track.

Also my brain can barely keep up with the speed things happen driving it.

@linksracer I ran off a few 4-7 lap sessions this evening myself and discovered this combo is not good coming off driving in VR once in the last 15 days. I'm a bit farther off gold than you report and am in fact a few tenths away from silver. Got kinda sweaty and had to turn on a fan after that first session and after the third had the ol' VR headache coming on. Being fattygewd from 2 weeks straight of home improvement projecting hasn't likely helped the "VR legs" much I reckon.

Did a fourth session and dipped into the 07s. Thought I'd do another session tonight but have since talked myself out of it. May have another bash at it tomorrow though, since I'm less than 4/10ths away from silver. This car is my kind of mental, even if I'm not fulfilling my dreams (read delusions) of golding it.

I'm not part of the gtp leaderboard. 😉

Back in the days nearly every fast driver was around here. It was a comon thing, that guys from here ended up 1st and 2nd or even 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

In GT6 we already had a leaderboard, but only podium places did count. 🤪
Crazy times 😂

Given that this forum has rules I don’t even know what to say about the Corvette CX.R at Laguna right now. I am sitting on an unsafe gold with a pretty poor lap which happened after 133 kms but now the odometer is showing 890 and I got absolute zilch to show for it. This is utterly disgusting.

I was expecting this though....., thanks for your contribution to my stressfull terror-board, i realy realy appriciate it ☹️ 😂
Nice buddy, quick as always, you realy went flying for my feeling after the Genesis VGT at Saint -Croix? and are getting a bit to fast to handle these days 😂
I haven't been lapping the Clio anymore but will do another run tomorrow morning, my sector 2 was mind of bad on the PB lap but getting it al flawless isn't easy at all 😂, we will see!

Yeah it's terrible, i'm at 3.0% exactly and i'm totally fine with it, not going back even if it drops into silver, worst we had so far on the pad if you ask me

Is it just me or is it much harder to bronze the Laguna Seca time trial with the new CX.R VGT? I like the car but damned if I can get 1:10 something. Best I managed yesterday was 1:17.

Thanks mate. I couldn't pinpoint an exact event, but it's true that something must have clicked this year. I had some good results before, but now they seem to come with more consistency and less effort, which is a good thing because, like @GT_Tuga , I definitely wanted and needed to dial down my play time a bit. Feels healthier now.

About the "too fast to handle" part ... yeah nice of you to say that, but we all know the truth ;)

How about this, you and partymix007 battle for the controller P1 honours, while you leave me in-front . I seriously don't wanna have to try this again but going by the rate of your improvements, I believe I must! Awesome result mate! xx.53x at split 2 is totally on it.

I asked partymix to join gtplanet so we can have a podium lockout.

:gtpflag:

Sardegna looks kind of easy. It didn't take long to secure the gold

On the other side I still haven't tuned yet with Lago Maggiore. The car is fun to drive, but I'm nowhere near to extract its potential.
This looks very hard for me and i'm still sitting at 104,8%
Need to work a lot on it

yes you can say that PD did some 💩... with this VGT (moreover with practically all VGTs). And in addition to putting this thing on Laguna Seca is a monstrous absurdity. As much as PD puts a dragster part on oval or straight line with these VGT but not on normal circuits. Like what GT7 is indeed a simcade and not a simracing game. This will be my worst result since the TT90 at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta and their famous Red Bull X2019 Competition with a bronze medal.

1.7% in to gold, that kind of says it all after almost 2 weeks, we just have to let it go amigo, nothing we can do about it,
just not our thing, you got very quick in the TT's so definately nothing to feel beaten up about!
i'm positive it get's lowered again so only one thing to do...... forget about it 😂 😂

Thanks a lot my dear Jomar.
Yes, these TTs are really not for us. We prefer ordinary cars that are slower but where we are fast. You too are getting faster and faster (even if you already were before 🤣🤣) and seeing you at the top of the rankings competing with @Metalgear9493 ge or @Ed_Night is a pure pleasure. Congratulations to you.:bowdown::cheers:

Yeah, kinda feeling like I’d rather drown myself than return. Slight exaggeration, of course but we’re thereabouts. Well, I’m not really going to take the gamble at 2,91%, and the lap was too scruffy.

I’ve had starts of the lap that are actually quite decent but it all falls apart brutally right from T6 into Rahal Straight and from there until the end. T6 is just pure lotto and then the corkscrew is abysmal, the following left is abysmal and the penultimate corner, that right-hander is just utterly insane. I’m at a complete loss on how to get through there — as soon as you hit that apex (on pad) it’s like we get a puncture, it just stops steering, has a weird bounce and goes completely straight into the sand.

Some VGT’s have honestly felt fine (The Genesis at Sainte-Croix for example was quite alright) but the Corvette CX.R is a bit much and yeah, it clearly doesn’t really work at Laguna Seca. Perhaps it could’ve worked okay elsewhere but not here.

Anyway, the main issue is PAY2WIN here. Or really, PAY2PARTICIPATE.

Yeah, i think you still have all golds right?, my start wasn't all that serious so i did miss some already, that lessens the pain a bit if my gamble turns out the bad way, but i still got room with my .303! , .304 should be gold to right! 😂😂

For me it's all corckscrew and further, i see the topguys yeeting it in 4th, de Bruin almost only uses 4th while i have to enginebrake in 2nd to even get a little rotation....sometimes, it just frustrated me more then it was fun, then it's time to move on 😂
I would feel save with a 2.91% , pray for my 3.00% please 😂😂

Good luck mate, you got this 👌👌

Yeah, I do have all of them. A few others who also have all and are in the line of fire (hope y’all make it) are James_08_07, @Hasnain282, @Exosum. I do think Hasnain’s .157 and Exo’s .214 are probably alright but feeling pretty uneasy at ~250, I wanna say that really is borderline. Are you two still pursuing some improvements or are you done and just hoping it holds?

Exactly.
One thing I've learned so far is that Time Trials almost make you come back to them time and time again, even if you're "just" playing them for the credits... that's only the 1st step of the ladder.
Then suddenly you start getting faster and better and you just wanted to get back in to improve your time to beat your slow friend's times, then beat your fast friend's times and so on... the challenge, it just never ends!

It's important to not let turn into an obsession, because if it does then things will start to go south pretty quick.

My point is: There's absolutely nothing wrong in being competitive, and I have a tremendous respect for all of you guys here for posting such amazing times on the track and for showing such commitment (and should I say friendship and kindness to each other!), but it's also important to keep in mind that this is only a game, do not let it do more harm than good to you.
