No worries m8!
Dont always trust on Wikipedia! Wikipedia doesn't guarantee it's 100% accurate/correct.

I will proof, you're wrong about speed term kph! But I'll accept kph anyway, because I know it's purpose. I was only saying...
-The correct speed term should be written as km/h, if used in metric speed term as kilometer per hour!
:D

Is this proof good enough for you?

I stop here too...

You prove my point exactly. Kmh is the SI unit of speed. It is very important to write it as kmh or km/h or kmh-1.
The abbreviation kph is as regulated as lol, imho, rotfl, wtf? or any other tla. It's what the people make it. Such is English. Your insistence on there being 'rules' for such things is where you make the mistake. I pride myself on being very good at my language. Take a tip from me. I'm right. You are confusing a unit of speed with an abbreviation.
Swedish is regulated by Språkrådet so I guess you are used to there being a right or wrong in situations like this. English is not regulated. There have been many attempts but they just give up. We make the rules ourselves through usage.

Km/h
*snip*

Not to nitpick, but speed is derived from the base units of the metre and the second, and should thus be expressed as m/s :sly: Not using seconds and metres just irritates me in calculations outside of physics.

That was kind of nitpicking

Thanks a lot to Adrenalines tune, its a great tune!

My settings: Honda Loctite NSX'01 Motegi 1:48'001. LSD:9-11-9, AERO:30-55, TURBO: Default, Max Power:538BHP with engine tune S3, Weight:1150kg, TRANSMISSION: Adrenalines tune from Dome '03 @ Final gear 3130rpm. Suspension: Adrenalines tune used from Dome '03.

With AdrenaTune for TAKATA DOME NSX '03 I did 1:46,300, so I really recommend this setup :sly: but I had to do some changes, but only with aero. And I bought Turbo 3 lvl and I have dirty oil. No any balast.

Glad to see people are doing well with the tune. Just wish it wasn't so much better than I could do! :p

I tried some of your suggestions and I couldn't improve my time, even with ABS on 1. I guess it's a driving style thing.

Hmm, worth a shot.

The HSV and older NSX's seem to be equally matched in my opinion/tests, where track style tends to decide which car is favored.
Think about what your saying lol....
If the HSV and the old NSX's were evenly matched, why are the NSX's at the top of the leader board?

I think you either don't read, don't listen, or don't understand.

You're reactive, I'm proactive.
You see a single TT, a single car, a single track and a single result, so you just make assumptions, based on other peoples data.

I test multiple cars, on multiple tracks, research from personal experience and make educated statements based on my results.

So, I'll repeat, The cars seem to be equally matched in my opinion/tests, where track style tends to decide which car is favored.

Hopefully you can infer what type of track Motegi is, how that translates to which car excels where, and how to apply it to other tracks of the same, and opposite nature... but I won't hold my breath.

P.S. There's an HSV in 13th.

P.P.S. If we're nitpicking, kph is actually an Acronym.
Note that all Acronyms are abbreviations, but not all abbreviations are acronyms.

This thread has been pretty entertaining as well ass informative.

@Adrenaline: Everything you say just makes sense. I wonder why that is?

I think m/s makes speed easier to visualise.
When I'm driving IRL, I'm regularly calculating my speed in m/s from the km/h on the dash.

I wish there was a m/s dial on my dash :dopey:

Pls, don't put so much attention, for my location country referring language regulators etc. I'm finnish, but I live in Sweden! I do speak/write other languages aswell.

I also checked my PS3's @ Options-General-Units/Languages there looked up settings for distance for "km". Then I picked a car, transmission gear ratio/ top speed! It show as km/h not kph!! :banghead:

I prefer to use km/h instead of kph. That's it M8!

Stotty
I'm constantly scanning ahead and my mirrors for Police :D

I just like m/s for easy calculating reasons, that's all.

EDIT: My 1000th post is how much I like m/s .... How odd, and apt

Any standard NSX will work (Takata, Locktite, Raybrig etc) ... I think they are all very similar unless you have amazing skills and sensitivity.

Good idea the Raybrig, like the colors. But in the first sector i notice the Raybrig misses alot of straightline speed. Think the Takata en the Loctite are the golden cars here

So i jumped in the Takata again and improved almost .1xx. P21 atm. Within halve a tenth, mate :)

You're probably right, but for someone currently in c.29,000th place it probably doesn't make that much difference!

Well done on improving... gonna have to put a good session in next weekend or maybe take the PS3/Wheelstand pro/G27 away with me next week... I want a 45 :D

Knocked off Madrid in a Tommy K ZZII fairly easily, but I'm really struggling with Motegi. I'm frankly baffled by the array of different but similar eligible cars and the arcane reasons why old ones may be faster than new ones. So I picked the Nomad Diablo. I've put a Praiano tune on it and it feels great. I've learnt the track and can put in fairly consistent laps but I'm still half a second off gold. I'm getting the feeling I'm flogging a dead horse.

Could somebody help me out here. These are the cars I have. Which is the one to go for?

Mobil NSX 01
Loctite Mugen NSX 01
Raybrig NSX 01
Takata Dome NSX 06
Arta NSX 06

Toyota Denso Supremo Supra 00
Woodone Toms Supra 03
au Ceremo Supra 01

Nissan Pennzoil Nismo GTR 99

Adrenaline... check the toe thread ;)

I saw, if you'll forgive my rough interpretation this is what I remember it sounding like:

"Adrenaline's tuning methods and theories on toe are 100% accurate, and I was wrong, and I'm so thankful I listened to him because he helped me improve my lap times by 6 tenths on the current Time Trail and I owe him my life, because he's super awesome and the best and amazing, and super, and special and sexy and I wish I could find a way to repay him for sharing his knowledge with me and opening my eyes, showing me the light, because he's awesome, and awesome and awesome. /bow /kneel #awesome
With my utmost respect,
Stotty"

That sound about right? :D

@Adrenaline: Everything you say just makes sense. I wonder why that is?

Just lucky I suppose.

Any of these 3. The Loctite seems to be the consensus favorite.
Mobil NSX 01
Loctite Mugen NSX 01
Raybrig NSX 01

There is a slightly heated discussion taking place here and I'm not a part of it, yet.

I prefer kmh or km/h over kph, however note that mph, miles per hour, exactly explains the meaning as it uses the first letters of the words.

Why kmh isn't generally written as kph, kilometres per hour, I don't know. Can't see why we need be reminded that a kilometre is a thousand metres when we don't need to be reminded that a mile is 1,760 yards.

If we did, mph would be written as myh.

Really cool event next week in the WRS TT's. We are actually using this event, but using either the Nissan Calsonic Skyline '00 or the Nissan Loctite Zexel GT-R '00 powered down to the 600PP mark. Guess you guys know what I'll be doing. Love those two cars.

Hope to see you there Stotty and the rest of you WRS members here. It'll be a fun week for sure.

Last time I looked Cargo' (yesterday) you hadn't cracked gold at Motegi, 1:53 I think.

Are you just waiting for me to mention it so you can come out and do a lap quicker than mine, or are you really having difficulties there.

Perhaps the 'ass whipping' comment was accurate after all, ha ha.

That happened to be my daughter giving it a try on my account. I told you, I haven't been participating in these events for awhile now as I have been devoting my time to the WRS.

I think you are either giving yourself way too much credit or are underestimating my skill set. Not sure which, but either way your "ass whipping" comment may come back to bite you in the ass. :sly:

Only if you beat my time Cargo'.

Perhaps you should have allowed your daughter to use SRF.

And my posts with you are in jest, I thought you would have figured that out by now.

Beating your time will never be a problem.

My daughter will NEVER use SRF.

So are mine. :sly:

All good then.

PS, tell your daughter for me that I'm sorry she's not allowed to have too much fun playing.

So I gave this a go the weekend and managed the Madrid street race in A Lambo Gallardo with a sports exhaust, fully customized transmission and suspension with a few tweaks to the suspension and running TC was set at 4as I am a DS3 user and it works best for me.

The Motegi race, now thats a whole different story all together.
Of the GT500 cars I only have 3 Supra's, 1 Lexus SC430, the Lambo Diablo and Raybrig NSX that I can use.
Ive tried them all and can get down to a 1,52:8xx in pretty much all of them except the lexus with my best time coming in a '01 Supra although I felt most comfortable in the Lambo strange enough.
Will need to spend more time on this as that empty star on the main screen is haunting me!!!:ouch:

All good then.

PS, tell your daughter for me that I'm sorry she's not allowed to have too much fun playing.

She has all the fun she wants while playing. She especially has fun laughing at you guys driving with training wheels on. (SRF) Its not my choice for her to drive without aids, its hers. After all, she is 21, old enough to make her own decisions. :)

No worries Cargo', my little boys play GT5 sometimes but mostly Transformers (they do the Drift Trials occasionally though), and my adult boys, 30 and 32, used to play a lot back in GT3 days but they mostly play those war games ones now. Same for teenage grand kids, used to play GT but not now.

I think I mentioned before that back in the GT3 days I always played on Auto and NEVER used the brakes, ever, yet completed 100% of it. I think it was during GT4 that I started using them. Could be that ABS wasn't on back then and I didn't realise it's worth.
