Lower the sound effects of the game and turn up the music volume. Gran Turismo's soundtrack list is AMAZING

And how would that help you? You need to hear the engine and the tires in order to drive properly, turning up the music would just be a distraction and hinder your driving.

Also If I wanted to listen to music instead of the game sounds I would just turn down the volume on the TV and crank up the stereo which has a much better choice of music on it.

The soundtrack is worse than the engine sound itself. I don't want to fall asleep while racing

I turn down the music and use Pandora on my phone thru a Bluetooth speaker....gives me more music options...

Racing is not the right moment for jazz. To be honest though, it never is.

tire noise>GT soundtrack and since I already have that off, I'm in a pickle.

Tire noise never bothered me until GT6. It needs a separate volume adjusting option. Sometimes the tires screech so loud that it mutes the engine for a few seconds. It's annoying.

^^ya agreed. With comforts, they screech through out the race. Sounds like a stupid soundtrack from a classic 60s era film, wherethe directors trying his best to make car chase scenes more interesting by adding squeals and screeches anywhere possible.

Mute the sound altogether then make the sounds with your mouth.
edit- not "work safe".. Some minor swears so URL instead of vid box.

GTPLANET's fault. I put in url tags and it still pops up in vid box automatically..

I'll try spoiler tags

test

WTFGTP .. spoiler tags broken, and url tags broken if url is a youtube vid.

Not really considering that there's automatic transmission, and that most of the engine sounds are terrible.

Really there is an automatic trans? Do you think i did not know that? Of course I don't use the auto trans and even if I did I would still want to hear the engine and the tires. This is important if you want to get the most out of your laps and be as fast as possible. Any engine sound is better than none.

If you want to be fast, turn off the music, learn how to drive manual and use the engine and tire sound to help you get the most out of your laps.

First thing on my to do list on all racing games is to set trans to manual and in race music off

It would be nice if they had a separate volume for your car and the other cars on the track as sometimes when you get close to others it is hard to hear your own car.

That is damn funny. But seriously how is this thread still open?

I whacked up the EQ's on my TV to full throughout the frequency range for a more distorted sound which helps a little.

I found a load of clips of races filmed from the track side on youtube, converted them to MP3 and put them on the PS3 HD. Instead of listening to music, I play the racing sounds quietly in the background. It just helps to make it feel a little more realistic.

Won't work for me. I always turn the music off in any race game first thing.

I just stick my headphones on and play my own music, unless I'm listening to the LFA.
