Me and Akmuq can't be a team can we?

Got to be in same car.

Infiniti, Mazda, and unexpectedly Nissan showed pace tonight, all taking turns at top of timesheets.

I'm still needing a team-mate

Panoz was after one as well.

I should be back for friday's test session after losing my save data earlier

So Furi, are you going to post the times?

I didn't keep track but fastest legit time was Yeratel 1:38.0 I believe.

Yep, 1:38.070 without draft (although it was with a fully broken in Mazda)...

I got a 1'39.0 without a draft, and I hit a top speed of 252km/h. That first sector is really killing me, though, I lose at least 0.4s there. :indiff:

I've still not turned a lap at Indy in any TOCA car, ever

I'm not sure I'll bother with this. Racing Medium tyres and 7 draft-fests only attracts newbs.

Team Announcement!

Team RCR have formed and entered the TOCA 9 Season! RCR will consist of GTP_raceorama and Conbon14 driving the Volkswagen Golf! Team colours will be confirmed ahead of this Fridays test!

Agree the cars are way over tyred. They feel disgusting in the corners, far too much grip and no feeling. Don't think i can stomach a whole season of it either. BTCC run a similar spec (305hp) and the sports softs used give more than adequate grip.

You can give my place to someone else, I'm sure I won't be missed  Good luck with the series 👍

If anyone wants a broken in CR-Z with a setup message me.

sports softs

I am wondering why you want to get horrible understeer and wheel spin in the FWD cars. Also the real BTCC use slicks not treaded tyres 👍

I was merely wondering how a video game CRZ can make you feel sick...

That's such a Furi answer, I assume you haven't actually tested Sport Softs.

And they may use slicks IRL, but that doesn't mean they have near this level of grip.

Meh

Ah I see Furi starts listening (only 9 seasons in not bad:sly:) and begins to get the cars somewhat close so it must be time to attack something else. I guess tyre choice is an easy target.:p

The real BTCC?!? Well I guess that settles it then, because after all, we ARE the real BTCC

If you're using a pad you wouldn't understand anyway.

There are 700, 800, 900hp racing cars in the game. Using racing med for what is a relatively low 305hp is just not realistic. It's 5 grades softer than the std tyre! I know that understeer/wheel spin is the affliction of the noob but jeez!

CR-Z doesn't make me feel sick it's just not at all rewarding to drive.

It's fine, I'm out now, forget about it.

With respect Rob this is no ordinary series this is Toca it needs all the help it can get.:scared: Grip being one item on the list I still doubt however it will help much.

So, how come your entering a series that you don't like the specs in? Okay, I get the Scirocco thing but the tyres are listed from the get go. Mind you with that attitude I don't think you'd be missed. See you :)

#robmoan.

With your attitude you wouldn't have lasted long anyway.

I'm not entering if you'd bother to pay attention. No, they're not the specs i'd typically go for but I have an open mind and I figured I'd give it a go as there was plenty of time to back out. And being in it's 9th season I was certain it would be a safe bet for a well thought out series. Meh!

... but the tyres are listed from the get go.
Yeah, and so were the car specs (305hp for everything) and look how many of those have proved to be wrong.

TOCA just isn't the series I thought it was going to be. Sorry.

Personally, I wouldn't mind reverting to RHs, but that would probably upset the balance of these cars. :indiff:

Not "wrong". If you have sense you actually make changes and adjust based on peoples feedback, why else have I had 8 testing sessions? And quit the attitude. Being bitchy about it on a formula 1 thread in another forum was bad enough. Giving other people it here is bad enough. We lasted this long so we've obviously done things right.

With all due respect, Rob is a sound guy and a fun clean racer. And tbh I agree RMs are too much, I have said that already though. Less grip is always more fun, an FF with 305bhp on SS it requires alot more finesse than with RMs where you can plant the throttle very easily.

But.. I knew the reason for swapping, not that it was a great one.. (Tyre wear on hards was non existant so Furi changed to RMs to keep the Rwd tyre wear advantage etc. Akmuq was the first to laugh at this saying something along the lines of "Just like Furi to do this instead of keeping hards and using fast wear" ;))

*There was a tiny bit more to it but that's part of it :P*

Paul, you have a point. With no tyre wear, there's no point for RMs any more, but with about a week-and-a-half to go, it might be too difficult to re-balance all of the cars if we were to revert to RHs.

I know that, as we know with Furi by now he always leaves things too late :p.

I intended for the final season cars to be fastest. And yet again, we have 8 test sessions that have worked.

Well then let's have them all be the fastest...
