My times (all without draft):

Focus, Civic: 1:10.7
BMW: 1:10.5
Mazda: 1:10.0
Scirocco: 1:08.8

I did a little run after everyone had left and managed to do a 1:08.8 with the VWS as well. In my Civic I can run a 1:10.2. 10.2 - 8.8 = 1.4 seconds a lap...

Something needs to be done here, and will be done. Expect news before next test, going to try something.

Don't mean to be a party pooper that's not my beef but the Scirocco feels more trouble than its worth.

Scirocco and CRZ are fast at this track, and Monza, but have little pace else where. I think if the cars are levelled more it will effect them else where. Maybe they should be restricted at these tracks? Perhaps we should have have a Friday night test before each round (which i'm willing to host if you can't Furi)?

Anybody be up for a Friday night free practice before each race?

I recognise in advance the VW has a speed advantage for HSR and Monza, so we can simply adjust its performance for that race weekend.

I'm sorry if I was a little rough tonight, I'm using a standard definition TV so my view of the track might not be so clear. :indiff:

You wasn't as ruff as some people, that reminds me, Furi you have PM

I apologize for my driving tonight. I was trying my hardest to keep up and realize that some people may not have been totally happy with the driving standards I displayed during tonight's test.

Hmm quite a similar post there.. :p

I did. Messages are primarily about someone else.

Whilst testing is fun and there is going to be some gamesmanship and silliness, driving like a total asshat will not improve your chances of getting to Cape. Doesn't matter if you are a series veteran or a rookie.

First World Problems. :P

Anyway, I have to make do with a 17" screen CRT.

I'm not actually going to have the time to race in this as I thought I would do. So I'm pulling out, again!

Ok, well I hadn't seen those figures before had I?
Enough people were there in most of the cars, it was a prime opportunity for recording times. It's obvious some cars aren't suitably levelled yet. Almost makes me suspicious about concealing the true pace of certain cars. And it's amazing in how many of these things the host/organiser ends up in what is blatantly the fastest car. Funny how that works eh?

CR-Z wasn't the fastest. I only managed a 1:09.7xx so almost a full second slower than the Scirocco! And I would fancy my chances lapping faster than 8.8 in the Scirocco. In fact any track, in the same car I would.

Between all the cliquey p!ss taking, less than ideal driving and mismatched cars I think I'm pretty much fed up with this already and it's not even started.

Understand some of our concerns now Furi.:D

We'll have to wait and see at other tracks, the Scirocco was right at the back until the fast tracks last season. I also know that pole positions at HSR aren't race wins. Almost all of the cars were equal in the draft. Once theres 16 drivers going at it that almost 1 second becomes no seconds and you draft past that fast car. Having the fastest car over a lap at HSR makes no difference over a lap with GT5 draft. Nissan could do with a boost though.....

You do realize that it's impossible to overtake Furi apart from Turn 2, right? If he ran a high line through there, you can't get past without being bumped from behind.

Red he used the Scirocco in 4.2 when it was ridiculasly OP and still couldn't win.. It was 7-11mph faster back then and that was on the 2nd best cars straight line speed.. It was what killed 4.2 in the end..

Also even though HSR is a draft fest (And silly for these) in the reverse race it will plow forward easily.

Can I bring a V8 instead then:tup:

And I agree with Paulmac (for a change) HSR and Toca must be a recipe for disaster surely.

So I didn't miss much last night then? Phew......

You missed out on awesome draft racing. Who cares about driving skill when you can just blitz past the opponent at a much higher speed? Boom. :sly:
