Yeah, in the latest interviews just before the delay news, he seemed so sure of the March release date. A delay till summer is still reasonable.. but a delay till the end of the year? unlikely, i hope

This stopped being cute about 2 years ago.

Whether it's false or not is currently up in the air, but the persistent need of wanting to polish everything 18x over, and wanting this and that to be "perfect" is getting a bit repetitive.

hmm:) that's already better than release at the end of the year..
now there's still hope it will be earlier.
BTW nice to have a japanese speaking person on this forum!

I understand what he's feeling, but when you produce something (be it a game, a movie or a documentary), there's always something that could have been done better or be polished up.

There's a reason why deadlines exist, otherwise we'd never truly be done...The rest of us just have to deal with it and learn and improve for the next product.

He is waaaay too attached to this thing to ever call it "done."

Yamauchi says "release it within this year"
not "delay till the end of the year"

Time will show. That’s something Sony and PD seem to have plenty of...
They are not bound by any due dates, deadlines, timetables or schedules.
Whenever it’s done, it’s done and even then it’s not quite done so they will work some more till it's really done before its finished.

Great point really. Giving yourself a goal of "perfection" and a deadline of "whenever it's done" is epic and romantic and all. But that's lost all of its charm at this point. And I wasn't charmed by that in the first place. Now it's just silly.

i dont believe KAzunori anymore..Yesterday He said 90 percent complete now by the end of the year..
He told a lie much before gt5 proologue release.

They words have the exact same meaning.

Proof/Evidence = SAME THING. Get my point?

They aren't the same thing so please stop telling people they are. Just because they are synonyms doesn't make them the exact same thing.

We'll see. I think RUF are in, but i don't think every car in GTPSP is in GT5. Mainly because some cars in GTPSP were duplicated to accomodate multiple regions. In GT5 there will be the model specific to the region like in previous GTs. Although being pedantic, that isn't confirmed either so i could well be wrong.

Which GT game exactly had different variations of cars from region to region? My GT4 has japanese models of cars (J), euro cars (E), and Usa models of the same cars.

Skidmarks and reverse lights!:sly:

I don't understand why anyone would want these.

Racing doesn't involve going backwards, so I don't see any use in reverse lights.

Skidmarks do have a few uses, like showing where you locked up or showing your drifting line, but there not completely necessary either.

They become necessary every time you are watching a replay. Then you see it all naked - things being present in real life so obviously that it's more ridiculous not to have them than talking about them.

most if not all tracks already have rubber buildup on the corners to show you were to brake and things like that and what the general line of the corner is.

Pd should put black tarmac on every track. Nobody would care about skid marks.
End of story.

Reverse lights are necessary because other drivers ( a.i or online ), need to know what you are doing. Therefore can react to it.Skid marks give an indication about the level of tyre wear.

First of all, you can not reverse on the track circuit. As well when a driver is going over 120 MPH he does not care if you have reverse light on or not, you should be off the circuit either way if you spin out. This is not a traffic simulator..

Sure it should of been there, but not needed.

if reverse lights and skidmarks are not in GT5 due to them "not being important to the racing" then why are the cars being painstakingly modelled? Why go for 1080P as that doesnt help the racing?

Kaz only cares about the bits he wants to get right (driving physics and car modelling) and doesnt give a hoot about the rest of the facts of driving, which games of 10 years ago included (reverse lights, skidmarks)

GT5 will be competing with Forza 4 by the looks of things...Maybe when Forza 4 is shown at gamescom this summer GT5 will be delayed while they start again from the ground up to compete with FM4? (joking...but maybe....)

Looks like ill be buying shift and F1 2010 to keep me going, and if i come by some money i may get a 360 and forza 3

Are you for real? You would prefer skid marks and reverse lights to night racing and weather? Are you mad ???!!!
