Beautiful...
Does anyone know what the performance stats are on this car, and is it really AWD...???

It's a Toyota and Subaru platform collaboration. So it's powered by a Flat 4 boxer engine. The FT-86 is NA and rear wheel drive, but this one looks to have a turbo on it. Pretty sure it's still rear wheel drive, otherwise it wouldn't be drifting like that :)

Subaru have their own version

I just realised we haven't seen any flames coming from exhausts yet.:(

Yep, thought we didn't see flames out of the exhaust and brake heating until the last week or before the release of GT4, in Hong Kong IIRC, It was also a full featured (final version) hands on.

So I don't think it will be that powerfull with 4cyl and NA, maybe just fit in that category with the Evora, 350z, or 135i, or maybe z4, GTI and Ford ST.
It looks suited for handling physics, so it could be a car to be reckoned with...👍

It's meant to be a cheap car, a successor to the iconic AE-86 :)

I hope that is the case, love the sound of backfires as I downshift in a modified V8.

Looks like a very good source of TAS news although I have to thank Jay for pointing me in the right direction with the photo of the FT-86 info. Hopefully they'll post something about the GT5 stand

Tommy Kairi Prius and Insight made me laugh!

Damn always the same things, why don´t they never show something new? Everybody who is interested and has an PS3 can play the GT Academy demo @home...

There seems to be a few different events happening with Kaz over the weekend. I'd be patient.

Translation tools aren't that good for Japanese, but later in the event there seems to be either a real time race on stage between a real driver and a fan, or between a real car on a real track and a virtual one at the exhibition. Not at all clear.

It's a race between a fan and Juichi Wakisaka. It's been done before:

The 3d thing that's being talked about in the news section that GT5 will be in 3D is very nice. Earlier this week I asked when the first 3D tv's came (from sony) and they said march, so we may have it earlier. But I dunno about buying a 3D tv right away, it's gonna be pretty expensive I guess.

I dont see why a 3D version of the game was mentioned when so far Sony are saying the 3DTV works with current games not new 3DTV Specific versions of the games.

who ever said it was AWD?

Subaru have their own version

No they don't. They said a week back that having a RWD car in their lineup wouldn't work since they only sell AWD cars.
