Good luck to ones being optomistic? I'm a fan of Gran Turismo and want the best possible results. And saying stuff like "the slow death of Gran Turismo has just begun" isn't saying anything as a fan of GT. People hated on PD because GT4 was taking too long and that online play was later ditched. Some of you just like the GT series, but don't show any heart. Most of you seem to give up on a franchise in its 10th anniversary. You don't want to give PD or GT a chance, and it hurts me because I feel like I'm the only one giving things a chance. I'm not going to viciously attack a racing series I've loved since playing it in 1998 or so. If I wasn't such a devoted fan and wanted some hope, I wouldn't have signed up on GTPlanet. I wouldn't have offered my most expressive and detailed comments if I didn't love the GT series. When you love something, you want the best for it as well as always hoping for happy times even in tough circumstances. If you want to give PD and the GT series a bad rap just because of the slow progress of GT5, go right ahead. Just remember that not all people are bitterly disappointed and always want things like a spoiled brat. You love the Gran Turismo series? Show it and prove it. I know some of the previous comments are jokes about "Gran wait-a-mo," but I'm personally disgusted that people will love the GT series when a new game is in the works (albeit slow progress), but willingly lash out and show little or no love for PD or GT all because a game is taking too long and with very little positive progress. I'm really disgusted. As an analogy, wouldn't you want your children to do their best and to have the best possible results life can give?
Having said this, even if nothing truly positive shows, at least give them a chance. This wait is good for me because I don't have a PS3. I have heart for this series and hope for the very best even with slow progress. I've consistently defended GT4 while GT4 was in the works. Same will go for this game. I want to play GT5 when it's (eventually) released. Even I worry a lot about things, but I'm not going to find something negative to say about PD and/or GT when the chance arises. So yeah. Wish ME luck in being hopeful. But that's only because I care while others don't.
What really keeps me, and I have said this before, is the little details, things that could;ve done so much for the game, private rooms, dedicated servers, things like that, I'm no programmer but I don't think it's really that hard, or at least not that hard for a team like PD, who knows maybe they've spoiled us giving the users very good content in the past.
And the reason why you see so many negative comments on this site is specially because people who post here are fans of the GT series, people who have devoted hundreds of hours into the games, so they actually take this seriously and having such devotion for something and (as someonesaid earlier) getting so little in return.
To explain a little of my point it's been almost a year since it originally launched and apart from SpecII which was released upon NTSC release, we haven't seen anything, a change in the tyre physics, 3 more cars, and that's it, no new tracks, no new events nothing.
And comparing the game to the child development: yeah but you can't certainly hope the child to be the best he can be if you don't give him the tools to work with, he needs books, and certainly PD isn;t giving books to this prologue.
@The Grither: You see they didn't have to release a prologue, but I really don;t think they're doing us a favor, I mean GT5P has sold a little over 2million copies, so releasing it is no charity work in favor of the gamers.
