Every one of you guys complaining about GT5 'S release know that the first day it's available you'll have to have it. Sure I would love to have it today,but at the same time understand that things take time& the tremendous financial workings going on.These guys at PD & Sony are in buisness & from looks of things have managed to do pretty fair even without my help. So do you really think they dont WANT to release GT5 & rake in all the 100s of millions. And besides as long as periodic updates change things a little we'll all be just fine.💡

Hell yeah, man. I'm probably going to spend the first hour I have it just looking at the cars and tracks in showrooms.
 
My point exactly,I can remember when GT4 came out I dont think I blinked for a half hour,the huge difference from GT3 which at the time did the same thing to me compared to GT2 I expect nothing less from GT5.

Hey we need to sort you out right sort out a way we can all transfer a £ or a Dollar to your account be it via pay pal or somthing (do a pay now auction on ebay and just let us know the address)and we'll sort you out a a ps3 and a copy of GT5p - I'll put in a £ - will everybody else?

hey we could be onto somthing here who ever writes the most amusing/funny post in the week or month we all chip in some cash to get them a steering wheel or somthing.
That would be cool plus it would pas the time while we wait for Gran wait-a-mo or the new improved version Can-You Wait-A-Mo' :)

I know its a bit of a long shot but I've had ha;f a bottle of wine and hey I'm feeling the love.💡

GT4 was quite a step from GT4 Prologue as well, so we will be blown away!

Nah, I'm still a bit concerned (who isn't!?) but it doesn't show as much as it did yesterday. :sly:

And I have 7 other GT games. Played a lot of GT1 and GT2 today for example, brings back some good memories! GT2's engine sound of some cars is amazing! 👍

Like the Alfa 155 DTM car :D I do admit I struggled getting back into GT2 after playing GT4 for so long and then GT5P, which is why I eventually sold GT2. GT4 however, still maintains a lot of it's appeal even with GT5P around.

I'm one of the ones here though who aren't distraught that GT5 proper doesn't seem to be here any time soon. I rarely get enough time to play even Prologue at the moment, so I can wait for the full game or any announcements on it.

I still believe, that SpecIII updates will continue. There is mentioned that: '...SpecIII updating has begun.'

It's only vice to give it in few parts, cause that downloading has been littlebit problematic for so many. One big update-package would drive many of us grazy.

Sure it has begun.. and ended after approx. 12 minutes.

Ah, and regarding the release of GT5: The older ones of us should have to be concerned if they are still alive at release date..

Heh... maybe.

English is not my own language so I may understand that wrong way too... but, I think/hope, it will continue with some new features.

If that 'Big update' was that. They should type it like: 'Spec III is now available.'

And thats it. No futile hopes for nothing.

It's much more easier to live in hope.
 
I have to be honest, I have had more playtime out of my £18 prologue edition of GT5 than any other ps3 game in my library.

On another note I am more than happy to wait for further updates, editions or full GT5 because the longer it takes, the better it will be.

Its as simple as that, there are so many games which aren't finished nowadays. GT5P is polished to a degree most full price games can only dream of. If you feel let down by PD well to be honest tough on you.

Give them all the time they need to make the game I love.
 
Still remember this: Duke Nukem Forever is the ultimate case of waiting. A potentially great game killed by delays and lackluster gameplay was Malice for the XBOX. So remember DNF and Malice as far as upper-tier games and long time making them. DNF (to my reckoning) STILL hasn't been released and don't have a set date ("when it's done" doesn't count).

For what we know, GT5 may be released "when it's done." I'm 25. So even if I have to wait until I turn 40 on January 15, 2023; then so be it. Have patience and faith.

Why aren't you satasfied with what you get , instead of complaining about what you didn't get ( yet ) .

For me any update with new stuff is fantastic!, You have to keep in mind it takes them 6 months to do a full car, and who knows how long it takes for a track.

So why not appreacite the stuff you get!. and just be patienct.

Ofcourse i'd like to have alot more cars and tracks , and we probably are , later.

I love PD but i am a bit skeptical regarding the time it makes to design a car for GT5. If in fact that was the case (6 months per car) it would have taken them 30 years to design the 60 cars for GT5:P.
 
Look i find it riduclas how people claim they are a fan of the series and somehow now they find time to blab on about this stupid Duke Nukem Waiting game. If you were a pure fan of the series from the very beginning you would be patient and just get back to playing the GT Series over again. I've restarted Prologue Yesterday for example and when im on the go. Im always playing GT2 On my PSP, If you cant wait to play a game that will include damange and could possibly be a bad descion of damage in the Gran Turismo Series then go play Need For Speed, Because they bring a title out every year and every year it sucks because there is no effort behind it at all. For all you people complaing just shut up and stay positive and be patient that's all there is to it. I'm not going to say anymore about you complaining whineo's after this but even the Mod agrees about this stupid behaviour of *Opinion* over the game at this time.

BACK ON TOPIC!

Has there been any more news from TGS? If not then i don't really care by the end of the month we'll see if a nice surprise pops up on our GT News Screen!

If Polyphony only has one modeler on his +120 people team then yes.

they take 6 months to fully design a car as a team working on multiple cars at the exact same time. They dont have just one person doing one car per 6 months. Come on...

So people can't be a fan of the series AND question the way PD communicates their release schedule at the same time? Now, thát is a ridiculous statement.

It was a means of putting things in perspective, meaning that 'waiting' is nonsense, it's not like your PS3 is sitting there doing nothing, just like I seriously doubt that people's pc's have been sitting around doing nothing 'waiting' 12 years for DNF. Besides that, we know that GT5 will arrive at some point. ;)

There's plenty of stuff to do, even in GT5P, to keep you occupied for a long time. If you're feeling bored, go check out a custom event like the Evora Cup or the Ferrari Street Challenge.

Ontopic: people put way to much hopes on the Tokyo Game Show. Based on what? False hopes only. Sony/PD never stated they were going to show something big. I'd rather have them working on the game then wasting valuable time showing a demo at some show. Remember, if they would show something at the show, that something would have to be created first! I'd rather have them working on the game instead. ;)

When you look at the complexity of creating a Game. You have to look at all aspects, Its simply impossible to put a release date on the finished Gran Turismo 5, Not even Kaz too. And of course everyone can question it but when someone is saying that PD have their thumbs up there arse and just put all their effort into creating these 3 Cars as the fall update is simply ridiculas. Sure you can question it Did i say you couldnt? No? I'm saying all these people who are saying that you'll be waiting forever and that PD are not bothering to do nothing it at all frustrates other members on GTPlanet. Because that's an obvious lie. Like i said in my post, Just get back to playing the other GT Games of the series and dont get your hopes up until something comes along. How surprised were you that they even did the October 3 Spec III Beginning Update? I think everyone was surprised to see a Major Update on the GT News Page. For people just complaing about the game why dont you bother enjoying it for what it's got in it at the moment?

As a matter of fact they have 30 modelers. 6 months is en excessive estimate of how much they take to model a car, regardless if you want to believe it or not.
 
I fired up the PS3 lastnite, GT5p starts up and what do i notice during the new shiney movie,

it still says spec ll in the top left hand corner!!

I downloaded the last update no problem.
Now it might be my old TV, but im sure it still is spec ll, i thought that would have changed. If the three cars was to be the fall update with nothing else coming then im sure PD would not have missed this!!!

You have downloaded the Audi R8 Intro Spec II Update. For some reason it hasnt promted you with the Spec III Update the 3 Cars and Spec III are already out? What do you mean? Give more info?

Not if you're starting from scratch with each car and want to get an insane amount of detail. All being true to life. It's not just the modelling, it's also reviewing it, making small changes, reviewing it again, etc. etc. I'm sure they could get 80% of a car done in 20% of the time, but it's the final 20% that is going to eat up the remaining 80% of the time. Most of the time will be in the little details, not the general look of the car.

Like you said i think that the designers have great expirience already so they can make a scratch of a car fast, and didn't we read somehwere that they laser scan cars?
I then comes to put that al into a car for the game, and yes all the fine details we have ingame on the cars.

ive got the audi intro and the three cars exiting the transporters but the top left it still says

Gran Turismo Prolouge Spec II !!

Sure it says Spec III? Seems like it might be a glitch? Everyone else is screening Spec III, This is first i've heard of it if your experiancing the problem,
 
ive only got a standard deffinition tv so that might be the problem, what im really hoping for is that there is more to come from the fall update!!

but it looks like it says spec II.

It's like Pixar saying there are 2000 men years of work in the last Pixar Movie. Anyone who has made a Car in a 3D Program such as Maya, 3DS Max, C4D, Softimage or similar, knows that is will not take 6 months to model a car, even with the details polyphony are modeling the cars. And Polyphony has the advantage that they are getting most of the cars fully modeled from the car companies, so they have "only" make the necessary adjustments.

And by the way, if that was the "Big Fall Update" what we get with the last update, Polyphony has to put up with critics from the community as well. It was them saying, there will be Lobbies, Damage and many more...

Sorry but i'm afraid your wrong there. It took PD the same amount of time to create 1 whole car for Gran Turismo 4 the same amount of time to detail one headlight for a car in GT5 Prologue. You dont know how long it takes to create every single detail to you? Kaz is a perfectionist and he will not release something that he not satisfied about. And no the car companies do not give PD a 3D Model version of their car already. PD Has to build and create the car from ground up on what spec information the car companies give them Thats why it takes so long just to create one car.

And for the *Big Fall Update* Even Kaz himself said they were aiming for damage for the fall. Though Private Rooms was brought into the open by critics and word of mouth personally i dont see private rooms coming but damage is certainly is.
