I may not be here actively, but all I can say is to be patient and hopeful. I've said back in the E3 deal that E3 is NOT over. Well, TGS isn't over. Have some hope for once and not go attacking PD and/or Sony for not showing anything.

Personally, it would be lovely to hear damage, but I would prefer Private rooms with voice chat. What is good with damage when random people slam at you?

Thats exactly the point. They'd all eventually DNF each other.

Learn how to race with punters, and I'm sure you can learn how to race with damage.

Guys it's been one day! How many days left are there? 2! Be patient for crying out loud they will at least give us more info about the Fall Update at present i dont care if I hear anything about GT5 Until mid 2009. Prologue is the main concern and still people dont relise this...

Didn't we just get the 'Fall update' ?
As much I would like better online options ( friend invites ), I think there's not much more to come this fall...
It's really more a big beta than giving the fans what they want, it seems :(

Um...yeah? Most people have realized that Prologue is mostly a testing ground for Polyphony. And the recent update was not the big "Fall Update". Apparently it's the first update in a series of many to come this fall.

The thing is, Gran Turismo is like Sony's flagship. It's right up there with Metal Gear Solid, Ratchet & Clank, FF, etc. If you have something, anything, to announce about those kind of things you do it right away at the big splash press conference. Even if all you have is a single screenshot with a rumpled fender, you show it on the biggest screen you possibly can!! If you have a new track (even if it's not done), you show at least a couple teaser shots of it.

GT is much more than that my friend. Gran Turismo is THE all time best selling franchise in Playstation history. The GT3/PS2 Bundle is THE all time best selling bundle.

The problem is SONY is not putting enough pressure on PD to maintain contact with the GT fanbase, like other developers do.

You know you just may be on to something there. I personally could be content with what we have **IF** The online play could be improved,ie the ability to race in password coded events or invitation only events,it could be so much more satisfing without all the mess it is sometimes now.

I have a scary feeling that the GT series is going to an end. KY doesn't seem focused, like he don't know what he want with the game. Especially now according to the interview the other day:
Q: As good as Prologue is, what can we expect in the full version of GT 5?
A: To be honest, I haven't given a lot of thought to GT 5, so I don't have an answer. And it's too early to talk about GT 5 because we still have updates coming out for Prologue.

Q: Is there an ETA on GT 5?
A: It won't be this year and nothing's scheduled for next. It may be out in 2010, but like I said, we haven't really discussed it yet.

None the less, it was said on XPlay the other night that SONY will not be dropping the price of the PS3 this shopping spree season disguised as Christmas.

thats crazy,all world is waiting 1 year now only for this simple private room patch... in every game its standard,wipeout HD costs only 17€ and it works so perfect without any problems and lags... Damage is a standard since ps1 in racing games,i´ve had damage in F1 Racing simualtion from Ubi Soft already since 10 years or more ago...

I don´t know what these guys @PD are doing all day but something is going wrong... they got to stop designing concept cars and other things like GT-TV... or they got to stop making games completely and concentrate on buliding cars,maybe a new car mark...

I hate it to be a pessimist but that sucks really that they have no plans about GT5... and waiting so long for patches... and get nothing big... the california is a great car... but thats all... and for this patches they gave us since 1 year now was all? 3 more cars and different driving physics... come on...
 
When the main man at PD basically admits no focus on the series..what hope does it have? :indiff:

And how does the damage in those games look? Exactly, they're not even close to real, and no game has never done realistic damage on any platform ever (from what I know).

Nothing like sitting in a dining room of an expensive restaurant for an hour and a half and then getting a steak that you could have made better at home for $5.99 in about 8 minutes.

My point is, we wait and wait and then wait some more, get a bone to gnaw on which only lasts for a brief moment. All the while, our competition is hard at work with their counter attack to the GT5P bomb dropped over a year ago.

Since that bomb was dropped, what have they done for us lately? They've dropped teasers of 'Nurb and given no indication that the track will be coming anytime soon, if at all.
 
I can understand the frustrations because im feeling them myself. I purchased my PS3 earlier this year mainly for GT5 prologue and the full version of GT5. Now I had reservations even right up until purchasing the PS3 because I thought to myself "am I mad buying a console for a game" then I realised it is GT and will be money well spent. I was very disappointed when I realised there wasn't even private room option and the fact that we are now in october and I still can't have a private race is incredible. What makes matters worse is the possibility of GT5 coming out in 2011.

The trouble is I have owned an xbox 360 since release and xbox live has spoilt me with its vast features. Like I said in another thread the fact that me and my friends have to play UNO on our 360s to enable us to speak to each other whilst racing on Prologue is incredible. Also this is the only way we can race in the same room because we tell each other when to press start!

We're all frustrated with the speed of progress. Considering the amount of time that has passed since Prologue launched, not a huge amount has changed to improve the game. Either core features are missing (private rooms) or functioning poorly (penalty / collision system). I just hope some news appears soon or something significant (private rooms!) is implemented by Christmas, as people are getting quite irrate as of late and patience is running thin.

Why? because there's 'has begun' written ?
Tell you that just means the update which was announced before, 'has begun' ..... Nothing else.
Also I said it months ago, maybe... just maybe.. we would have friend invites already, if people actually asked for that!
Theres a huge difference between password protected rooms and simple friend invites technically, which nobody seems to care about...
Maybe they actually work on that keep struggling, who knows ?!

IMHO there won't be another update anytime soon.

Great job anyway at least 3 cars and improved gameplay in many aspects. 👍
