The 2017 GT-R is beyond OP. I already knew that the GT-Rs (save for the T-Spec), LFA and NC1 NSXs were the main late-game cars, but I wasn't prepared at all to run a car that could effortlessly get to 260 MPH, on its own power, without NOS.Unrelated: Addtional Rules -> Apparently my GT-R can still do 339 km/h in limp mode, ROFLMAO.![]()
Unfortunately, that car made the final stage of the main story a total cake-walk, to the point where I felt the need to un-equip Center of Attention. The GT-R accelerates so fast that it's honestly unnecessary, even against bosses.
It was a bit of a bother when I first started the game, especially since I just finished a playthrough of TXR Zero. In that game, there were multiple pieces of music for all situations, save for Speed King, White Charisma, and ???, which helped keep things going. I know it's a minor thing, but it helps keeps things fresh, espescially since the soundtrack is already full of honestly solid remixes of classic TXR songs.I'm honestly not bothered by it. At least it ain't TXR3 and literally the same song over and over again for both races and cruising (per locale).
Speaking of music, the remix of Chrome Fist in this game is phenomenal, and much like TXR3, is a perfect match to the high-speed races from Stage 3 onwards, espescially on the Wangan.
However, my personal favorites are the Boss Intro and Battle themes for Swift Emperor. While I appreciate the heavy and hectic electro style of Snake Eyes' theme, the pure Heavy Metal sound from Swift Emperor is just pure, unfiltered power, and I love it. Eternal Polaris' final theme is a very close second, with it sounding like a mix of styles from both Snake Eyes and Swift Emperor, but the pianos really help keep it unique. It almost sounds like something out of an Armored Core game.
I doubt it'll happen, but I'd be over the moon if this games soundtrack got a physical release.
