I was there, and it was only misty, not really raining. Nonetheless the track was wet. I'll upload a video of mine in a few minutes. Stewart stalls the F1 car and needs a bit of help.

Reminds me of the time Hammond tried to drive the Renault, although I think it took Hammond a few more attempts.

They make it look so easy on TV. I missed the first airing(was watching a movie) so will watch the 10pm rerun.

Funny you mention that as that's EXACTLY what it reminded me of.

That was awesome. I was just amazed at how quick Hamilton got used to the Stock car. Just like Montoya did a few years back, he loves the fact that you can drift and get it sideways.

I still am in stitches from that episode. That manager's laughter is priceless

I'm a little disappointed that Lewis sandbagged so hard in his MP4-23 (or, as the one commentator called it, the "MP24-3"). He set the bar really low, and a buddy who also watched it says the tachometer didn't depict Lewis pushing the car much at all.

The track was a lot wetter when Lewis first went out. Plus, it was the first time he had ever run on that track.

Dude, the track was brand new to him, damp and above everything else a publicity event.

There was seriously no reason at all for either driver to push either car to the limit.

Lucky! Where are you from? I would have loved to go, but being 17 it would have taken some to convince my parents to let me drive there. To make it worse I forgot to DVR it, as I was at my Tues. bowling league.

SPEED is re-airing it in about 1 1/2 hours(11est according to the guide).

Which is why I convinced my grandfather!:dopey: By way of the crow, I only live 12 miles south from the track between a place famous for making glass, and a place famous for harboring people like Mark Twain and Ernie Davis.

Anyway, here are a few pictures I took from the stands:

Where were you? I'm gonna try looking for you on TV during the re-air.

You won't find me, however, you will find my grandfather's head. (Not that you really care)

The very last scene of the fans walking down the bleachers shows a girl in a pink sweater. On the very bottom edge of the screen is my grandfather's head. (I think it comes into the shot at the end of the scene)

To be honest I kinda like to stay anonymous.

Ah, thats who's head it was.

WARING TO ALL THOSE USING A DVR

The monitor/scroll bar says it's a half hour show...it's not. It's an hour long. So set your DVRs to record for one hour!

They also tend to avoid going flat out at these events. When Jenson Button drove around Mount Panorama, he said he could have shaved a couple of seconds off his time without trying too hard. And when Nick Heidfeld did the Nurburgring in a BMW Sauber, he also went quite slowly.

The only reference to the car I heard was from Steve Matchett and he said MP4-23.

its funny they ran their cars on a wet track, then each others in dry so we have no real baseline. But both guys looked very fast on the last laps.

Add another one to the list of people who don't know how to embed YouTube videos.
This is part 1 of 6 for the entire program. The rest are on the same channel. This is not my channel, btw. :)

Enjoy!

When they zoom in on a few of the spectators at the :39 second mark, the guy in the black jacket with the red hat and hood up is me. No joke. I don't know what I was looking at at that moment but you can see me turning my head. It was pretty cool not only to be there, but then to see myself on TV later.
