Nice, this is as far as i got in vectoring, until i gave up sicne people pissed me off because i traced, I did alot of this freehand. I had to do the front bumper, wheels, rear bumper, and the hill with the little curby things freehand.

omg thats sweet suzq, i want to see it when it is finished. thats a real cool picture you chose. also, could you post the original (and link to a specs page if such exists): i forsee using it as a nice background.

its not a car.. its an animation made by some 17 yr old on MAYA.. not a concept... for a competition.. pretty good 3d model eh?
 
om****ing god susan u have telent in vector compare to chopz thats ****ing awesome lol insanomaniac vectorz even it doesnt finish ..hmm cant wait to c the finalz ...;)
 
So GM cancells the Camaro, and gives us this rental-car looking GTO, why the **** dont they hire some of this talent and give us real cars instead of expensive ******* "driving excitement" advertising on ugly **** like the Aztek?

basically.. lol, but the camaro IS coming back in 07 (says car & driver), we'll just have to wait for the true form of it. lol (if it were like that... i'd definitely buy :D )
 
i suck @ coloring em, i'm still in school learning flash, so ur not gonna c color for a while dood.. @ least not from me.

suz, do you hand draw those in flash or is there some sort of tool that does it for you? I might get Flash MX at some point...
 
How do you color the vectored cars? I've tried coloring them in Freehand MX but didn't work. Are you guys and girls using Photoshop or Flash MX?
 
i use Flash MX to trace seems easier. and i use PS7 to color them in. Flash MX is very moldable than PS7 in ways.
 
Your lineart is great suzq. Coloring in Flash is very easy... I taught myself!

If you want to "cheat" (I did this in my drawings), you can take the colors directly from the real picture and use them. And if a color fades into another color, go to the Color swatches toolbar thing and look at the bottom. look to the left, and you'll see the white-to-black gradient. When you select that, a bar comes up in the toolbar above color swatches. There, you can change the color, or even set new gradient points... Basically, I learned more messing around with Flash than the teacher told me in 6 months. I hate my Flash MX class. We're on outdated software, and the teacher makes me help the other people if he can't help them...

Wow that went off topic quick. Anyway, just mess around. One of the problems I had was the paintbucket not working. I forget now how I got around that. I think I did all of the lineart, and then deleted the layer with the picture I was tracing. Then somehow it worked. You may not need to do this...

lsk8r.. nothing that i'm aware of does it FOR you.. except photoshop. lol, but i don't use photoshop anymore, now that i've learned the basics for FLASH.. i have a final in it tomorrow (gulp) .... but i think i did well. ANYwho, uhm.. some i trace, some i don't... i'll leave it to you to figure out which ones r which ;)
