Best
Formula GT (challenge)
Caterham (great handling)
RM Corvette (just awesome)

Worst
X2010 (see previous posts)
Tank Car (utterly pointless)
Lambourghini Murchialago (a real brick in the corners)

Best:
Any Ford GT - Racing or Street
Any NSX - same as above
Audi R8 4.2 FSI R tronic '07

Worst (most cars can AT LEAST be made decent with tuning, but I felt these were the hardest to get right):
Hommell Berlinette R/S Coupe '99
Honda Odessey (obviously)
Formula GT (after experiencing driving the F2007)

Best:
Ford GT any year
Tommy Kaira ZZ II(Crazy Car for 50K UCD)
ZR1 RM(Pretty Beast at Everything)

Worst:
Veyron(It turns with the dignity of a cow)
Tank Car(850hp but also 3500Kg)
Prius(IDK what else to put)

Best
Mazda 787B- My favorite Race car Ever
Nissan GT-R SpecV- Yeah, it understeers, Okay, it understeers a LOT. But It's crazy fast.
Mazda Eunos Roadster (Miata)- LOL sooooo much fun for a tiny, japanese car.

Worst
Mustang GT Premium- I was testing the arcade cars and I constantly yelled "Turn you piece of crap! Why didn't PD put the much better 2011 version of the 'stang in the game?"
Bugatti Veyron- I hate this thing. But so does everybody right?
Ruf yellowbird/ Ferrari F40- These are some of my favorite cars in real life. But The F40 is a tricky car to master, and I can't turn the Yellow bird without it spinning on me.

Best:
Define "best".

Worst:
Red Bull X2010
Red Bull X2010 Prototype
Red Bull X2010 S.Vettel

  1. Ferrari Italia 458
  2. Suzuki Escudo
  3. Tuned Veyron SS (Yea tuned its a good drive!)

  1. Untuned Veyron (Understeer Monster)
  2. NSX Type R
  3. Leno's Tank Car

These are my opinions based one 5 laps of Trial Mountain no aids, and tire/fuel consumption turned on.

Best 3: Nissan Skyline Sport Coupe 1962
Suzuki Cappuccino RM 1992
Chevrolet Camaro SS 2010

Worst 3: Hommell Berlinette
Red Bull X2010
Subaru Impreza Sedan 2010

The best 3 are all amazing fun cars, handle great and all that, a real joy to drive. The worst three are the worst cars EVER. The crappy French thing has hideous handling and is French; the Subaru has the worst possible understeer and stupidest exhaust noise when fully tuned, and the X2010 is the piece of complete 🤬 that ruins the game for me both offline and online
I could go on to add the Veyron (super noob car) and some others to the worst list too

I see so many ppl. That like the 787 mazda. Its ok, but is the worst handling of the group c cars in the game.
I can't name a top 3 because there so many I like to drive. None of which are street cars. Street cars are YAWN for me.

Best three:

Ruf ctr yellowbird (insane for drifting fully tuned!!)
Audi R8 LMS race car
Toyota 7 race car

Worst three:

X1
Lamborghini murcielago super veloce
Tesla roadster

Most fun I've ever had with the GT5: Schwimmwagen tuned to ride on 2 wheels, do stoppies and wheelies.
Most rewarding, because I feel like I can accomplish a low time on any track with it: Corvette ZR1 RM 09'
Greatest Challenge to experience improving with: Redbull X2010

Tried and only want to remember that I don't ever want to drive them again: Veyron
Citroen FF Rally car, pick any one
Can't think of a third :)

Best
- Ferrari 458 Italia
- Arta Garaiya
- BMW Z4 M Coupe

Worst
- Toyota Prius
- Veyron
- VW Bus

My top 3.
Best: Toyota Sprinter (S.Shigeno)
Saleen S7 (good jump car)
Escudo DTC
Worst: Cobra 427
Tommykaira ZZ-II (understeer)
Gallardo LP560-4 (very twitchy)

Best
1. Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ2 (a wonderful thing to drive)
2. Lotus Elise 111R (great for tuning)
3. Lexus LFA (wonderful car)

Worst
1. Amuse S2000 GT1 Turbo (wrong in absolutely every way)
2. Subaru Impreza (OK...I'm an Evo fan, but still...)
3. Formula GT (simply because it is impossible for me to do its event)

I'm neutral with the X2010 BTW. It's a unique experience but every noob spams it.

Dunno if I can get just 3 favorites, not in any real order.
Audi RS6 Avant: Drift Wagon, flattest torque curve in the game = acceleration and sideways fun.
Cappucino RM: Little road going rocket on small courses.
Viper SRT10 ACR: No real reason, I just drive the crap out of it when I'm bored.
Skyline 370GT: I'm not sure why this is such a great car, but it is.
300SL: The looks and the sound, also the performance is great.
Beetle/Fiat 500/Kei cars/any of the old low powered stuff: You figure out how to keep these cars going full bore on a track and you'll always have fun with them.

Worst: Don't really have cars I hate, but I sure hate some of the people who drive em. Get tired of some dingus in a supercar shoving me around the damn track because I'm in a small car.

I get it, you don't think the little Fiat Panda I'm in is a good car, now leave me the **** alone.

I don't know about best, but as far as favorites go...

👍
Lotus Esprit 350 Sport (since it first appeared in the GT series)
TVR V8S
NOMAD Diablo (to name a few)

👎
Prius
pt cruiser (is that even in GT5?)
most concept cars and most hondas

P.S. why does everyone hate on the Veyron? I never really considered it a track car to begin with. Just a bullet on wheels.

OK, I think I am going to keep my answer simple with this one. It isnt soo much a top three of each but more a simple answer for my car loves and hates.

Loves........ Any car that makes me want to watch a replay just to watch my lap
Hates........ Any car that seems to have no feeling when driving hard regardless of power.

You ask me this each week and I'd probably give you a different answer but today's 3 and 3 are.

The good.
1.Ferrari 458 Italia
2.Chevrolet Camaro SS '10
3.Mercedes SLS AMG '10
And the bad.
1.Ferrari Enzo
2.Subaru Impreza STI Sedan '10
3.Maserati Gran Turismo S '08

1. Honda NSX-R [amazing all round car]
2. Mercedes SLS [very quick car amd looks and handles really nice]
3. Ferrari 458 italia [Looks stunning and very quick]

Worst...

1. Toyota prius [Enough said]
2. Redbull x2010 [ruins every other cars feel]
3. Bugatti veyron [Boat on wheels]

Top 3
69 Camaro RM
Ford GT
02 Nsx R
Worst
All of the insignificant cars taking up space.
Not having any RM Mustangs in the game?
And all of the cars with lousy exhaust sounds that ruin the game including the premium RM vette. What a shame this was an oversight.

Best Premium;
1. Lotus Elise 111R '04 - race modified or not this is one very quick car around a tighter circuit, perhaps one of the best in the right hands and I love it, my #1 favourite car in GT5. Not as good on open tracks, although still reasonably competitive. I'd list the '96 Elise as second, as it is slower, but then I'm wasting a slot :P.
2. Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren '09 - looks stunning, a very quick motor in a straight line, and pretty decent handelling to get it going quick in the corners. Nice to get sideways too, and it's possibly my favourite sounding car with the stock exhaust.
3. Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 - Beautifully quick, great round corners and a bargain motor. Whether you race modify it or not, it's a great car. It was a toss up between this and the Viper ACR and the Camaro (latest model), but I think the Corvette has the edge.

Best Standard;
1. Bentley Speed 9 Race Car '08 - I wasn't going to include race cars here, but then Bentley is an amazing car, it's very fast and looks really nice, and it's a Bentley. I suppose this is going to be the quickest car here in my favourites/best cars.
2. Mercedes SL 65 AMG (R230) '04 - An astonishingly quick car, 1000bhp is a nice figure to have in a Merc. Great round the corners, whether composed or sideways.
3. Suzuki GSX-R/4 Concept '01 - a right little rocket, it's very quick and can keep up with things with 3x the power and is really good around the corners, when tuned. The best time I had with this was in a 100bhp room, this thing slaughtered the competition.

Worst Premium;
1. Red Bull X2010 S.Vettel (and varients) - Sorry, but a car that doesn't exist shouldn't be in the game. And before people say it does, the mock-up that was made had no internals.
2. Ferrari Enzo Ferrari '02 - Did someone ask specifically for a car that lacks turning ability with this car? I've spent countless hours trying to get this to turn, with some success, but come on, yeah it's fast, but it can be really outmanouvered in the corners. It's not a terrible car, but to me, it's one to steer clear from.
3. Not really got a third, generally Premiums are good, although it's a bit annoying to see tons of similar cars, like MX-5's.

Worst Standards;
1. Bugatti Veyron 16.4 '09 - It's such an annoyance, and it's not because it's a bad car, it's because of bad drivers. You see so many people driving them in races, who just ram you off because they can't drive it, or set it up, which unfortunately kills this car for me.
2. Jay Leno Tank Car '03 - The same as the Veyron, only it's a bad car as well.
3. Haven't really got a third again, ah well :P.

I know my favourites may not be the fastest, but they're my favourites. There are so many more that could have made it, especially in standards, like the Shelby Series One Supercharged and the Speed 12, but I'd best adhere to the rules :P.

It's always a challenge to try and extract the maximum out of stubborn, seemingly undriveable cars.

Some tough cars to drive, the Enzo. Not because its hard to handle or it has a lot of power. Main reason is the aggressive stock suspension, on the ring its much more twitchy than most cars, on sport hards you get quite a lot of wheel spin in any gear. The Zonda R, completely crazy car, stupid fast but incredibly exhilarating to get a handle of. Some of the most fun I've had keeping this car on track and really putting it through its paces.

Agree. This is where GT5 gets interesting. Im currently downgrading my tyres on most of my racecars and supercars just to make handling more "fun". It's like Im getting a whole new garage :-) Take all the nannies off and focus on throttle control and fine-tuning. Brilliant!

The "best" car accolade will depend on your level of driving skill and tyres and tuning. For beginners a 4wd R8 or Lambo or Nissan GTR will be the most amazing thing ever and McLaren F1 or Zonda, nigh on impossible. For an advanced driver, anythink less than a Zonda will seem dull and lifeless.

Im constantly changing my sights on which is "best car" depending on what I am driving or have driven recently.

Often I can get loads of joy out of using my 2nd account and restarting GT5 again and again, and slowly tuning up lowly cars which surprise me more often than not with their ability.

As for worst cars; it's all relative, but Citroen 2CV, and similar old, low power oddities have to fight for last position. But even then in a 1 make race they can be more fun than one might think :-) - They should throw in a golf cart or lawn mower to really spice things up!

Best.....TOO MANY I JUST NAME SUM.1.alfa Romeo tz2 bla bla..2.Jaguar xj13...3.tommy kaira zz2 ultimate car:).....and the list goes on!....worst:3.x1 2.tank car 1....carol deluxe super slow!!!!feels is a pile

Best three. This changes daily :)
Elise 111R (RM) or not. This car teaches control and is constantly a love / hate relationship.
Corvette ZR1 (RM)
'66 Jag Race Car or Toyota GT One. I hated this car in previous GT games and dropped it in favour of the R390. I seem to recall it sounding completely different too. :) Love it now though. So quick.

Most rewarding drive would be the Elise 111R expert race. Took me ages to beat that and in the process sparked a real interest in tuning, comparing different tuners work etc. Praiano, RKM and RVR being the most fun. Without their work and effort I'd have put the game down ages ago. 👍

Worst three.
HPA Audi. No sense of anything going on here. Pure boredom. 👎
Lambo Gallardo
Chromeline Murcielago. Cannot get this to handle. However it takes a great picture.

Plus a fair few more. Mostly 4wd.

Best

1) Nissan GT-R V-spec
2) Lotus Elise 111r RM
3) Re Amemiya Asparadrink RX-7

Worst

1) TVR Speed-12
2) Bugatti Veyron 16/4
3) Lotus Motorsport Elise

-300 BHP CARS [+ = best / - = worst]
+ Daihatsu MOVE SR-XX 4WD ~ just because its a Kei car do not be fooled by what it can achieve, when fully tuned it becomes a fantastic all-round car with great potential.
+ Isuzu 4200R Concept (Stock) ~ beautiful car, really unique an stands out amongst any other car ive ever known. another great all-rounder, no thaks to its MR Drivetrain.
+ Toyota Sprinter Trueno BZ-R (yeah, i went there and didnt mention the AE86) ~ Fantastic FF Car, really cheap to buy and handles remarkably well, stock or tuned!
+ I have too many to mention, so ill briefly post a few: Nissan EXA Canopy, Nissan Silvia CSP311, Mazda 110S, Isuzu 117Coupe, Toyota 2000GT

- Mitsubushi FTO GPX ~ its handling really felt awkward to use as stock, might try a fully tuned one some day, at least the GP Version R makes a slight improvement.
- Toyota Yaris/Vitz (the premium one) ~ nothing appealing about that car, accept for being good fodder for being rammed
- Honda Civic RM ~ I just dont feel whats good about this car, handling is horribly oversteery, the acceleration is jumpy and its looks arent exactly nice (although i do like the Premium '08 Civic Type R)

[will do another post later for other car types]

Yeah but the Carol "Power slides" and people say "WHAT IS THAT??" when they see the little car. I like it for it's size and other people can't believe it.
It's slow as hell, yes, BUT it's fun to drive time to time
