They should come here and do some DRIFTING:sly: See if it's realistic:p

No really this is awsome:D:D

From the official site:

When you crash in the game, you make yourself a cup of tea and start again. If you crash at the real track, you will be drinking your tea through a straw. So, the perfect challenge for a middle-aged man with a dicky back, then.

 they are funny blokes indeed...

That's a funny one. I used to be able to tell exactly where the F1 drivers were on particular circuits by watching them on TV, because I had become familiar with the circuits in the Grand Prix 2 PC game. I could even spot changes in layout, like new chicanes, and the changes they made to San Marino, since the GP2 version still had Tamburello rendered in its original form. Jacques Villeneuve used one of the Grand Prix PC games to learn the tracks before he entered the F1 championship in 1997, and they were accurate enough to allow him to know his way around the tracks from the very start. I also learnt Laguna Seca on an earlier game (Indycars 2) and still find it rather familiar on new games such as GT4.

I also get almost identical lap times in identical cars around Tsukuba in GT4 and Enthusia, even though the cars feel quite different, which is impressive.

The Nurburgring is the odd one out, though. It feels like a completely different track to the 1960s rendition in Grand Prix Legends. I can actually complete a lap of it in GT4 without crashing, something I never managed in GPL. However, I would expect that if you went to the circuit today you'd be able to find your way around it comfortably if you were familiar with the GT4 version. These sims have been accurately modelling race tracks for many years now.

I agree.. then, I would love to see who claims that drifting RR's is easy.. drifting Miata 1800RS is easy in stock form, but try to do that in tuned form ,it'll become unstable bastard tha tgoes where it wants.. and all I did was increase the power to 200 bhp!

:grumpy: WTF... I don't see it on dis schedule and I don't get BBC 2... I think. What time though?!? I'm in the Pacific time zone.

Well, no GT4 in tonight's episode (first of the series), but there was some clips of an NSX around Laguna Seca in the series preview that kicked the show off.

Very funny all through, and for those that will have to wait for it I hope it's not long for you guys. I laughed pretty much all the way through. :)

*JUMPING UP AND DOWN, BIG GRIN* ME TOO:D:D:D:D

The GP of Suzuka Circuit was just scary realistic man, and also in the ending movie of GT4 with the awwwssoommmmee Nissan Z I could see all the corners, I lost track sometimes but got back after some key points like the banked turns so typical in the Nurenburgring. But Suzuka Circuit was real scary and almost exactly the same:eek::scared:

Only thing I wonder whether the different angles of light could influence ur judgement of the nurenburgring. In GT4 every shadow is on the same spot over and over and over again.

Don't want to disappoint you, but it's not "no speed limits" anywhere. There's plenty of 30, 40, 50 mph bits :). The section of road they were using was "the mountain", which gets made one-way only at certain times e.g. Mad Sunday during TT week. That section is GLF when the road is shut/one-way, or at least I hope it is! :dopey:

The surfaces (especially the mountain section) are generally good for riding on (haven't driven there), but get away from the main roads and you can find some very bumpy stuff. Not that anyone should drive/ride irresponsibly on the road. :)

Not quite right.

The Isle of Man does have speed limits in all the towns and villages on the island and on some of the roads. However, the majority of the islands road network does not have speed limits, at any time.

So while you will not get a ticket for speeding on these roads, the local police do take dangerous driving very seriously.

Last year the IOM parliment tried to get speed limits put on all the island roads, but the local population voted it down by quite a large majority.

Thanks Scaff - I'll remember that next year. :)

I wasn't 100% sure what was and wasn't, so I thought it best to err on the side of caution as there were quite a few sneaky speed traps around the course. As NSL (for all intents) = No Speed Limit as opposed to national speed limit I suppose that "dangerous driving" (or "furious riding" - cracking offence title) will catch anyone playing the fool.

No problem at all, and you are right that when on the Isle of Man you do need to watch for your speed in the areas with limit as the police have no problem at all being very strict on your speed in these areas.

The IOM police are very reasonably chaps too. Spent a while talking to a IOM policeman while watching one of the races and he explained that they knew everyone wanted to have fun, and they saw it as a balance between keeping the unruly in check without being opressive.

Excellent attitude, left me with an impression of friendship rather than the "them and us" mentality that is bred with cameras, etc.

i just saw the latest top gear episode :) . why do u even care if they show the uber edited version we get in america? :P

Cocks drive Porsches

JC to May and Hammond - "So you both have Porsches now then".

pain killer
its better than nothing
Not when they cut parts that criticize cars, such as the Evo FQ400's drag-race loss against the Fiat rental car, and remove anything that makes fun of americans, because viewers were "offended."

Watching the bulls*** edited version only increases their ratings and makes them think you appreciate what they've done.
