chameleontop gear should invite kaz y and let him drive the reasonably priced car
his driving is okay but he isn't that great, there has been plenty of comparisons in the past it's obvious GT is not realisitic in the sense of experience, but it's physics are pretty accurate. Can't wait for gt5![]()
Maybe I misunderstand what you mean, but how well Kaz Y drives shouldn't matter much for how realistic the game is?? They can use real drivers to sort that out and give feedback. If I remeber correctly from the DVD that comes with GT4 Prologue, you can see Johnny Herbert and Dirk Schoysman in the background as part of the crew. I doubt they would use time and money on them if they aren't seriuos or atleast aiming for realism. Even though if he was a great driver doesn't mean he is good to get it down on paper since that is 2 completly different things.
When it comes to Clarkson I think it's typical him to do things over the top to prove a point. Even if the physics and the track are modelled accuratly it seems he's trying to prove that the fear factor is bigger than people think. And I agree with him. Off course this would depend on what kind of track you are driving too. The fear factor I assume is much greater at Laguna or the Ring compare to say Tsukuba. So for me Clarkson proves first of all that the fear factor is a big part of it. If they wanted to find out how accuratly the physics and track are, they should have used a professional driver were the fear factor is less of an issue.
For us normal people I think playing a game like GT4 would help us in real life, but it takes time and experience to build confidence to conquer the fear factor. I look on a sim as a helpfull tool, and know that it can never replace real life experince on some areas. There is a reason for why pilots use simulators to practice aswell, and even they say it can't replace real seat time. Who would argue that their simulators are not accurate?
