That's a nice Mk6 Supra you've got there.
More evidence IMO that this will be the basis for the Mk6 Supra...a street version of the Lexus has been spotted, rumored to be called the LFR.

Of note here is the exceptionally long hood to allow the front engine to be as mid-mounted as possible, the extremely low and flat hood which implies a dry-sump oil system since the only other engines that could fit under that would be OHV like a Viper or Corvette, the tremendous brakes which appear to be carbon fiber mounted behind 5-lug wheels, the rear wing which appears to have three different adjustment slots mounted at its maximum AOA, rear-mounted radiators a la the LFA, what appears to be a rear transaxle, and the oddly GTE-style flat and seemingly under-developed rear diffuser plate. I have to assume that plate is merely for mockup purposes and they're in the process of finalizing a rear diffuser design. If all that is the case, what we basically have here is a Viper-style layout which is excellent for weight balance and handling. I bet Dodge really wishes they had the balls right about now.

To avoid outrageous pricing, Lexus would probably share this platform with Toyota and that would mean the next Supra could move very upmarket and be an absolute monster. That does make sense considering Toyota is out of engines to plop in the GR86 (besides the 3-cyl turbo) and is planning to introduce an "SFR" to effectively replace the current GR86.

My marketing concept would be this: SFR to supplant the current 86 and/or perform more closely to the Miata, GR86 moves upmarket to supplant the current Supra 4-cyl and add a sedan version to compete with the Integra, move the Supra upmarket to premium performance/current GT-R territory but keep an I-6 for identity, and have this Lexus with a bruiser of an engine to compete at in an even higher and more luxurious market against AMG GTs and the like.

The CarScoops article mentions the road car may have a twin-turbo V8 but honestly the race car's engine doesn't sound turbocharged to me. It's only slightly more muffled than the Mustang's V8 from the same video.

Looks like the lovechild of a Veilside RX-7 (the Tokyo Drift one) and an SLS AMG

But you know about it on the GT3. This car will be competing directly against cars like that.
It just look a bit out of place somehow to me. Like if Mercedes put a Black Series wing on a regular AMG GT.

Maybe Nurb edition if it's even on their plan? Or maybe just a prototype wing?

No wing on this one and it looks cleaner.

But yeah whatever, what do I know.

Yeah, take my money. Their LFA Pastel palette would be dope for this car. Not a complaint, but looking at bit Kia K4 with how far down the rear lights go.
Wondering if the next 86 and Supra will look similar.

Overall I really like it. The shapes all flow quite nicely. It is quite long. My only issue with it are the taillights. They're too angular compared to the rest of the car. Also there's interesting vents at the top of the rear window. I'm not sure what they're for. One small detail that I haven't seen in pictures are the flying buttresses that go from the side windows to the back. I'll post some pictures I took with my actual camera at some point

Totally agree! Taillights need some work but otherwise I find it really pretty.

Hopefully this is more successful than the LF-A....

So do we think this Sport Concept is an EV? It looks VERY different from the Toyota cars that have been testing, including the GT3 car, which is certainly not based on this Sport Concept due to homologation rules, which means either Lexus has two cars on the way or the GT3 is switching over to Toyota.

Extremely pretty if the production version stays true to the design.

And by association I can see the full GT3 version being similarly spectacular.

Nope. They were running the prototypes at Goodwood Festival Of Speed and it had a glorious engine note. I think it was a V8. The GT3 version was loud AF.

Where is the GT3 version?

The two cars that have been running around in camo are completely different than this Lexus concept.

Given the divergence of the Lexus and Toyota designs, I'm of the opinion that the camo cars running around are not Lexus as so many people seem to think. I think they're all Toyotas, including the GT3, and I think that because the consenus is that the non-GT3 road car is a Toyota and the GT3 car must be homologated to the road car. Some people seem to be hung up on the idea that the GT3 car must be a Lexus because the RC-F GT3 is going away. Due to the homologation rules, either all of the camo cars have to be Lexus or none of them can be because they all look the same.

The media seems so damn confused about what car is what brand and amidst this they're completely skipping over the fact that the partnership with BMW is over and the Supra is going to have to evolve into something.

That something is these camo cars. This TT V8 road car and GT3 car are Supras. Every single concept Lexus has put out related to this body shape has looked completely different than the Toyota concept, which looks exactly like the camo cars and fits the idea of a Supra perfectly.

This one probably is. The ones running at Goodwood weren't.

I think the Toyota and Lexus are distinctly different cars, but possibly on the same platform. They all have very similar proportions and I imagine it would be quite expensive for Toyota to develop two different FR platforms.

Toyota has been very clear that these are two different cars from two different brands. The cars shown at Goodwood were clearly designated as Toyota GR cars whereas this concept and the previous EV concept were both Lexuses.

But given how poor demand has been for an EV sports car, I imagine Toyota may want to convert the Lexus EV sports car into an ICE which I think this is what this new concept is trying to do. There's a lot more cooling openings in the new concept compared to the previous one

I also think this concept is trying to converge the Lexus EV onto the Toyota GR sports car platform because it's much more upright / slab sided compared to the older concept. It's more similar to the Toyota GT3 concept they showed many years ago. The front opening has a similar shape too.

It looks pretty nice, although the flat grey the concept is painted in is a bit played out now IMO.

Trouble is, the LFA had an 'exotic' V10 and sounded amazing. That was its USP. I'm not sure a V8 hits the spot in quite the same way.

Especially not a turbo V8 although it can be done. The Jesko's TT flat-plane engine sounds pretty incredible. But we know from video that the GT3 has a traditional cross-plane engine. Not sure about other countries but in the US this engine will surely be modified in incredible ways and within weeks of sale not a single one will have a stock exhaust anymore.

Especially if they call it a Supra.
