The Supra '97 isn't available in Brand Central. It's in Legends Cars.

Which old Gr.1 cars do you recommend for the 3 Neo Classic Races? I don't even have one on my current account.

I m on intermediate setting
Thanks for the info
It’s getting hold of those cars I find a problem
Yeah the group C cars may not appear till next month.

Porsche 962 C '88 - 1/14/2023
Jaguar XJR-9 '88 - 1/18/2023
Nissan R92CP '92 - 1/20/2023
Mazda 787B '91 1/22/2023

But you can always just lower the difficulty and try something like the F1 GTR 95. (If you have one)

For me the 962C seemed to handle the curves of Willow Springs the best, but any of the old Gr.1 cars are easy wins for these events, even on Hard which is what I usually play.

McLaren MP4/4 can also be used in the Neoclassical Challenge and should be a good alternative to all the Group C cars. It's still currently available in Legend Cars for 8 million credits.

They are all fine and great value for money.

At Willow the Mazda did it for me as it can go without stopping easily and is easy on the tires too.
The Nissan can be faster all around but you will need to work on the setup. As always, @praiano63 tunes on the Car Tuning section is a safe bet.

The Sauber and specially the Porsche are on the understeery side, and usually you will need to go up on the rear wing to lower the PP, becoming even more understeery, so better options for those 950pp races than the 800pp Neoclassical.

I'm stuck here because of the lack of capable cars winning. I won at Willows with the Sauber C9 using Priano's tune. But this car isn't good enough at Fuji or RBR!

Yes, I used it for all of the Neo Classic races and won every one.
I tried as well but I had to add ballast & lower the power to make it eligible but could only manage 4th at Fuji & RBR./

Any tips on making this a success?

Place the ballast so the car is either 50/50 weight distribution or 51 to the rear. Can't remember the exact numbers for the downforce, but turn them both up to about 3/4 of what's available. Left everything else as it was. This makes it very neutral handling and stable and wears the tires pretty evenly.

After that you just need to nail your pit strategy. Watch the long range radar and as soon as you see it start to rain for a decent duration (or know it will be raining before you complete your next full lap) pit for full wets. Stay on wets until there is a 100% dry line then switch back to the slicks. Never run inters.
Run whatever tires that will last as long as your fuel, and run whatever fuel map that will absolutely minimize your stops as that's where you beat them. There will be races where you think you're not going to win and the AI cars will pit with 1 or 2 laps to go.

The issue is the PP of the car. It's close to the ceiling which is why I can either race with RH or RM.

If I select RH, I have some legroom to make car setting changes such as racing transmission or power limiter.

If I select RM, I can barely make any change.

Is your MP4/4 close to 800pp?

I tried the MP4/4 at the Neoclassicals and at the Gr.1, 950PP Menu. Both a bad decision for me. Got 5th at best. Even in the Supra i could get a 3rd place at RBR, as far as i remember from former accounts i was playing on. Guess i have to wait for the Gr.C cars to try again.

While the MP4/4 is great fun to drive, I struggled as I had to add 200kg balast & drop power to 70% in order to make the car eligible for running at RBR or Fuji.

Did it with 130 kg ballast as i mingled with downforce, but yeah, didn't feel competitive. A shame as i wouldn't have bought it without events to use.

Oh well, I would think the MP4/4 should be able to win these races with the right setup/tune. Not sure what difficulty you’re playing on, but if you’re going through Menu Book 43 and just need to get it over with, you could try it on normal or even easy difficulty.

I’m currently going through Menu Book 43 myself with the C9, which is probably the worst Group C car for these races, but I’ve won Big Willow and Fuji with it on hard difficulty. I’m still working on the RBR race, but based on what I’ve tested so far, I can say that it’s possible to win that race with the C9 as well (even in the dry). I just need to decide on which setup and strategy to use.

Hard difficulty. And no, i would never turn that down. ;-)

I already did it on other accounts, i just wasn't prepared that i cannot perform in the McLaren.
