I can't make it tonight chaps, which is a shame, as I would have liked to try that car finally.

Anyway, I should be back tomorrow.

Happy racing 👍

Curious to know about the Monaro racing & how that went... I like that car. Kind of challenging of course. I would've come to participate, but I couldn't commit.

In other news, just wanted to give the 👍 thumbs up 👍 for that HELLHOLE RACEWAY.
We raced stock unmodified Celica 70 & Gallant 70 on it today in VCRC lounge, and that was excellent!!! The track was a hit. 👍 Thanks!
May the VCRC club consider it in future for racing? We would give credit, of course! :)

How did it go, well even better than I thought it would, I have a new Laptopamabob (Uk guys will see funny side of this) which I’m getting used to.

Here is one pic for now I’ll post more once I’ve sorted the upload size, and add event report.

Enjoy the view from this picture looking down into the Dipper and the track twisting round towards the final bend top right of pic.

Can you overtake on the Mountain; umm yes you can.

Gary, Dave and Me him passing him passing him on the first part of the Plato, and Noss off into the distance in his normal place.

Gary with tight lines fantastic driving as ever.

The Holden really suited the track at 490bhp – 1660Kg there was still so much more to the track from the word go, go,go off the start line. Most of the corners were fast flowing but still if you hit the gas to soon the back end would break away.

Once all on track got into the flow it was then a case of when to pit on the 15 lap race, as we all drive different the wear on the front tyres was different for each car watching the replays, how Gary held it together in the one race I don’t know, his front tyres by lap 9 were all but gone, that’s driving for you.

Spy got the pitting down to a tee, I had a 4 or 5 second lead end of lap 8 Spy went into pit for fresh rubber, I went for one more lap, wrong move, coming out the pit end of lap 9 Spy had me in his homing beacon, with his tyres warmed up and the power of the Jag, he was soon on my bumper on lap 10. I was very surprized just how many passing places there were, I was worried when testing that it maybe just F1 style line a stern, having not used a mountain track like this before.

Spy got diving down the inside into turn one, down to an art form. But I can only give 9/10 for that one. :)

All in all the combo was good, I would have liked to use the Ford Falcon with a full grid, that would have been the cream on the cake, maybe another day.

Big thanks to everyone who tried this combo for a Wednesday break, it was a little different and I hope you enjoyed. 👍

Phillip.

Hi Chloe, I'm pretty sure that my brother would be honoured you using his track. It's a pitty we have crossed events otherwise I would've joined.

How did it go, well even better than I thought it would,

A big thanks to you Phil, it was a good combo 👍 It would have been nice to see more people, but we still had a good time.

I must say, the front tyre wear was incredible. No wonder when we were using Holden's, it was a mammoth task Holden on! :nervous:

Cheers!

Nice photos Phil, it's a shame I wasn't there.
You can really see how steep that track is, last sector was my favourite because of that long right hander.

Anyway, back to the main event this evening.
Here are the details to refresh your memory.

REMEMBER ME?

After a couple of weeks of any car, I think it's about time we had a one car race. Incredibly, this car is rarely seen on the TCR tracks, but I remember having plenty of races in this beast during the good ole prologue days.

See you guys on track!

CURRENT COMBO : REMEMBER ME?

RACE NO: 19 OPEN

START DATE: Thursday 1st March
CAR: Amuse S2000
BHP: 500
WEIGHT: 1120KG
TYRES: Racing Hard
TUNING: Prohibited
ROOM NUMBER: SEE LAST POSTS
TRACK : Available from GTP_Cpt_D and GTP_Eriba - Phantasey Ring
ROOM NAME: TCR - AMUSE S2000 ONLY

Yes it was great yesterday evening. Car and track fit very well to my driving style. I'm of course still slower than the others, but this time only 2 seconds / lap instead of the usual 4 seconds.

By the way, the first time I joined the TCR league, there was a 480ppp limit, free car choice. And I was all the time convinced I took the wrong cars, because the other cars were 4-5 seconds faster. It took me an hour before I understood the problem was not the car :banghead::banghead:

About yesterday again: Unfortunately, we were only 4 for that 1 race I could participate in. As we say in French: Les absents ont tort / The absentees are wrong. When the others arrived, it was too late for me, because I had to work early this morning.

But anyway, thanks Phillip for this great combination. And yes I think that one day, we should do something here with a big heavy weight race-car like that Ford Falcon. If the availability of that car is a problem, there could be alternatives, like the Camaro RM or the Dodge TC, although they are not australian.

Sorry leaving guys had to attend a metting yesterday, which I had to walk 130 meters (maybe not that far but felt like it) and back again, and they expected me to walk upstairs, like thats going to happen.

Now I'm just in way to much pain, feet and legs just not going to work for a day or two.

Phillip.

Sorry guys I won't make it this weekend. Have fun with the amuse S2000, I know It's a blast!

TCR – Wednesday 14th Midweek Break

Triumph Spitfire Tuned 230bhp – 718Kg – 500pp

But we’re having a break this week you can race Cote d’ Azur or Circuito de Madrid

As you know one is more technical, the other has more pacing opportunities.

I’ve run this classic for some time on a TC circuit and it’s just as much fun, but this week I thought no learning track and have an enjoyable night off in a requested car.

Let me know what you think and which track you would like for Wednesday 14th.

I think most should have this car now, I did ask some weeks ago to try and get it ready, if you are still finding it hard to find, I do have a couple spare.

Phillip.

Won't be racing this week. Heading to Florida for march break. Cya all' soon.

Live: it's a bad recording but just to mark what a fun night and pleasure it is to race with you gentlemen

Great vid John. Learned a few things just watching how insanely fast you guys can go with this combo. And that's just one of the great things here. You actually become a better racer/driver, no matter how good you already are when you first get here.

Not to steal your sunshine ;), but as an supplement ...

Great video and picture.

I've not been around much the last couple of days, but it looks like its been pretty quiet all round.

It's a great combo, but as ever, we have to move on next week, so let's try and get the room filled to the brim this weekend.

👍

Cobani the pictures you produce are second to none. Brilliant.

That video is not bad considering that it’s done through a projector onto a cream coloured wall and plus all the shaking going on:dopey:, the quality is not bad. I will get it better.:sly:

A question: which tyres?
A remark : Madrid and Côte d'Azur are ok (I prefer Madrid), but why not do this race on one of the previous good tracks? Like, f. e. GT Paddock.

I think my friends of the Vintage Car Race Club will like the idea of a Spitfire race.

Paddock is a great venue I’ve not tried the car there but I do know there’s ample passing opportunities at that track. I really don’t mind where it’s run, if the members would like to revisit that track for a Wednesday break in the Spitfire that’s fine with me.

If you would like to put it over to your friend, they are more than welcome to join any Wednesday or TCR events.

I’m sure TCR members will post here if they would like to pull the paddock out of moth balls for the night, let us know if some of your friends (number) would also come along.

Phillip.

Tyre are SS I think.

The standard of racing was awesome tonight. Really have enjoyed this two week combo.

Spitfires sound fun. My dad used to race a red one so know them pretty well. I think that a revised version of Boxton would be good for this combo :)

Nice idea Rob, but I'm looking for a week whereby no one has to learn a track, I do have a track made ready for the Spitfire, which is narrow to make for very close racing, but thought it's time for a week off for the Wednesday break was in order.

Being 230bhp - 718Kg and a very small two seater sport car it could soon get lost on a large track, on top of that I'm working on other things too.

Lets just keep it to the three, if members would be good enough to say which they prefer that would be great.

Phillip

I love the idea of bringing one of the past tracks back as TCR has grown and there have been some awesome tracks in the past that have offered close racing. I just wish we could use one thread to advertise the events that are going on so people just look at one thread to know who's online and who's racing what because at the end of the day we all race together but some at different times. Call it your one stop shop to find out were the racing is. There's so much variety now that we're all splitting up, if we could have all the combo's updated on the first page of the thread people will know what's happening. If it's a fun room even I want to join. There could be two combo's running in two different rooms and on the same day then choice is available. TCR will still run our weekly combo and if it's good you'll run it but there could be a more fun event then run it because if it's fun everybody will be in one place racing.

I think that's a great idea as I'm home early and to be able to post something different on the thread during the day would be great.
Can we do anything etc bring an original, make your own and put it on the thread so earlier people can see and join.
So let's say I have a new track and want to test it today from 4 to 5 can I open a room on the thread to invite who ever sees the thread and wants to play?
So let me get this right, TCR will run Joylord and Alexis combo for a week and during the day we can do what ever and open a room on the thread?
If that is what you are saying I love it.
So again, What time will the weekly combo start?

Peace be to you all.
