I'd Say, instead of mix'n'match. Get a city track... New York. Then copy an are about 2km in diameter. And you get that area to edit the existing track, and make your own. PD can create Grandstands and pits etc. And just add them to it.

This'll obviously take too long, since GT5's almost coming out. So Track 'Editor' will almost definitely be in GT6.

I wonder why you decided to raise a thread few months old...
Anyway, I do think that a "real" track editor is a great addition to GT's (and any other game) since this give the community an endless options to enlarge the game size.
Even if the usage will be slow and complicated there will always be hardcores players/designers who will invest the time to create new tracks. Very similar to what's going on with GPL and rFactor.
I just hope that some kind of track editor is indeed included in GT5 - this could partially explain the 3 disks game package we've seen long time ago (1 disk for the editor - maybe even as a PC tool....)

I wonder why you find that to be a problem....

Its better than starting a new thread.

--------

If it were to be implemented, I'd say it'd be like THUG 2 where one chooses a setting, and then places objects (in GT's case, corners, undulations) within a set space.

Does track editor mean editing a track that's already been included in GT5, or designing one from scratch?

I was just wondering, no big deal. I'm sorry if I hurt anyone.... I didn't mean to, you can see this since I also responded the thread and didn't "wondered" only.

It can mean both. For example, I have always found the Seoul Central circuit to be a bit too short. Adding a kilometre or two onto it would make the track more interesting.

Maybe the whole track editor consists of nothing more than one large concrete/asphalt square on which to place traffic cones in a pattern of your choosing, still would be fun though ( although a bit of an anti-climax ).
