My issue with the game is that it provides less content than the previous game, and for me to invest also includes buying the console, so this game is a huge investment for me. PD have succeeded in probably making the best looking driving game with the graphics, but i doubt the physics would be superior to something like Iracing, and the ammount of tracks available lower than in GT4, which already missed a lot of tracks key to the racing world. Tracks that other games bring.

Is this game worth £300? no its not, is it worth it for someone who already owned a PS3, probably yes.

I'd have to buy a ps3 too. I'm waiting till it's released to make a decision. Obviously the expectations are huge and many new features are already taken for granted. So the focus is on the (rumored) faults now.
I'll wait to see how the online gameplay is.

IF there will be DLC-packs for more circuits. Fine by me, but how does they get used in the game. can we play them only in arcade or online. does it get used in GT-Life?

and do they fit in a patch. Tracks tacks are big. we seen how indianapolis was very bold at GT academy demo. i am afraid all tracks will be single to download an it will cost 3 or 5€ for just 1 track.

Back on topic, There are a few videos of Special Stage r7 one of a mugen civic and the other of a citroen gt in the rain. The track in the rain is IMMENSE, yet the dry track is much shorter?

The official track list mentions 2 versions of the track, i'm hoping that there is a dry version of that HUGE track with the citroen GT on youtube! I swear it's straight out of Tokyo Xtreme racer.

The dry track video wasn't raced to the end.

I don't think it's going to get boring! I've had so much fun in Gran Turismo 5 Prologue considering how limited it is. There always was and still is an interesting car+track combination that I want to try out. Example, today I've spent about two hours perfecting my lap time on Fuji GT with a Nissan Fairlady Z. So much enjoyment from that can only make GT5 feel really huge (for me at least).

I would have liked at least four more tracks (Midfield, Apricot Hill, Motegi and Infineon) but I know I will have plenty of work ahead just to keep up with what GT5 has to offer.

I'm also quite certain that PD have kept at least a couple of suprise tracks for us to unlock. However, I'm done hoping we'll be able to compare the track count to GT4.

Thats a premiun car.

What, no Apricot Hill, Seattle Circuit, Infineon, Citta di Aria,Costa di Amalfi, or Côte d'Azur,

Côte d'Azur is in, no grindelwald, motoland, test course, george v paris, opera paris, new york, hong kong, seoul, elcapitan, grand canyon,

EPIC FALE !!!! EPIC FALE !!!! EPIC FALE !!!!

Considering there are only just over 200 premium cars, the other 800 cars you can only change the color and ad some stupid looking back wing 👎

EPIC FALE..!!!

Get your facts right. The only mod you can't do for sure with standards are wheel changes. We are not sure if you can or can't do body/racing mods. On top of that back in GT2 when we could do this, not all cars could be modified anyways.

KNOCK IT OFF THA BOTH OF YAZZ!!! lol

IMO PC is better for some games while console is better for others.

PC will always dominate the FPS, RTS, emulator and RPG markets while consoles are better for sports, side scrolling, fighting, racing and other action games where you roam on a map (like MGS).

Consoles are also more fun at parties and group gatherings because you can sit back on the couch and 1 PS3 can allow 7 people to play (depending on the game). Consoles are also more reliable since you just pop in the game and away it goes.

Back to the topic at hand...... THIS TRACK LIST IS DISAPPOINT!!!

I think you totally missed the conversation of the topic here. I was saying how i was disapointed with the track list and that i didnt think the game with the available track content was worth the price of buying the game + console, putting the game at about £300 in price, especially when so many of the main rival games on the pc had all the big name tracks (spa, silverstone etc) available.

Then we went into the discussion about the PS3 being worth more than just for Gran turismo, and i stated that i did not have any interest in the other games personally as i generally play on the PC, due to the titles available based on my tastes.

Also to say consoles are better for racing games is completely off, as the PC has most of the good console titles available, aswell as a bunch of games that are exclusive to the pc. consoles own their markets, and thats fine but it doesnt generally appeal to me these days.

On the consoles outside of GT5/Forza theres not much on choice for a simulation racing fan, where as the pc has a bigger variety of high quality simulation based games, aswell as the popular bunch (codemasters, NFS etc) of more casual based games you would find on a console.

The only real racing game advantage of the PS3 is GT5, which i have no doubt will be fantastic, but is it fantastic enough to spent £300 on. £300 in Iracing can buy you a lot of content, more tracks and a physics model that is constantly being improved, a better competitive online experience with the ratings system keeping racing clean.

Gran turismo will be great, single player will be second to none, but with 20 tracks, less than the last game, its hard to justify the price of buying a PS3 just to play it, which is the situation i and my others find ourselves in. Many of us would never consider buying the console if it wasnt for GT5, so other games being available for it is not something that matters. GT5 needs to be good enough for me to say "ok i am going to spend £300 so i can play it".

So its easy to see why i am disapointed with the tracklist, i assumed we would get all of the old tracks + the new ones, i took that for granted and i have been left wanting.

Initially I thought the track list was ok but comparing it to GT4 it does seem a little bit disappointing. When you start doing events it makes it much more exciting when there are new tracks to learn otherwise it just feels like you are doing the same events over and over in different cars.

I really thought there would be more ovals for a proper NASCAR season.

I thought there would be more proper rally stages rather than randomly generated courses, especially with the WRC licence.

I was hoping for more real life circuits. To have realistic looking cars with realistic physics going round a made up track is ok but to make the whole experience more 'real' some world circuits would finish it off.

I'm still confused why all circuits can't have weather. I thought the track would look different with reflections etc and you see some rain falling and the physics are adjusted accordingly? Am I right in thinking that any randomly generated course can have weather? If so then surely what I said above is just applied to the course and I can't work out why this can't be done for any track in the game.

Where are the proper kart tracks? Surely we can't race karts around laguna seca and high speed ring? The only tracks that look ok for karting are autumn ring mini, Suzuka East and maybe London. The rest are just so wide and so high speed for a kart that you could probably take a lot of corners flat out. The fact the kart track with the flag issue isn't listed is very strange, I have no idea whether this list is complete or not.

In GT4 potentially any track could be used in an event but now if an event is a weather challenge then the number of tracks is limited likewise if it is a night event then the track choices are limited.

That's a great question. I'm under the same impression that a user created track can have weather.

If that's the case, I have no reasonable explanation as to why some tracks won't have weather.

I was under the impression that we would see a lot more Nascar tracks. Not that I'm a diehard nascar fan or anything, it just seems strange to have all of the cars included but hardly any of the official tracks.

There are definately a few tracks which I was hoping would make the cut but didn't (Mount Panorama, sigh) so hopefully we will see some DLC content in the future.

i'm mostly disappointed at the lack of Us tracks

No ...

SebringInternational Raceway
road america
road atlanta
infineon race track
That road track in Utah ..
Mid-ohio

and so many more .. yep i THINK its official PD is bias against american tracks.. sorry someone had to say it:eek:

I agree with you. 300 is quite a bit to invest for one game. Especially if your preference is pc. My advice to you is to wait til you get some legitimate answers to your doubts. Either being reviews or coming back here after a few weeks to get updates on the findings of unlockables. Compared to GT4 track-wise I agree it lacks but I can't see this its its entirety. PD held pack on the official list.

Everyone doesn't want weather all the time is the only explanation. I am fine with dynamic weather on the 24hrs here and there. I am afraid the game will overdo it and will always call up rain. I hope there is a timing system in place for how long weather will take place. There should be an option to select on,off or random. Now on races when the default is to have weather I am 100% fine with that. I am a casual gt-fan. I am not a hard-core gt fan that requires the most realistic situations.

I don't want weather all the time, I do however, want the possibility of racing on Daytona & Indy's road courses in the rain (or any other track for that matter). If it's possible on tracks that we can generate, why is it not possible on all tracks that PD made?

Why did they place that limit?

Anybody complaining about not enough tracks, you should state what should have been removed from the game to allow the development time. You can't just list your favourite tracks moaning about why they're not in the game.

If they did a few extra tracks, then there would have been consequences; perhaps no weather, or no night racing, or some other big features.

Almost none of my favourite circuits are in the game. But you've just got to get on with it; it's an enormous development project, and you can't please everyone.

LMAO, with a 6 year dev cycle, you would think they would be able to get all those things done and then some. Plus, the budget provided was no joke either.

it needs sebring.

sebring is the grandaddy of american road courses, the season opener for lemans. cars are brought to sebring to see if they are built strong enough to survive the 12hr race. if a car can survive the 12hrs of sebring it car survive lemans itself.

yet one of the most famous tracks in the racing world was left out...

In that case, scratch Photo Mode, reverse lights, and about half of the standards. :D

I've gotten pretty tired of racing the GT5P tracks to death, but you know, I think you're right. I just watched the track editor video, and randomly re-watched the old 458 Italia video - the short track list isn't going to be an issue, and GT5 is going to be endlessly mind-blowing:cheers:

Don't forget B-Spec mode 👍

I'm not too worried though, as soon as we start playing everyone will forget about all the little things that should or shouldn't have been included. At the end of the day, everyone has their own opinion but all that matters is that its going to be the best games ever made. Period

I'm disappointed that there are so many great tracks missing, One of my favorites was the NEW YORK track. hope there will be a DLC to bring back thoes tracks that are missing.

To Track List Feedback, i'm really happy about it, all the great tracks! Maybe missing the 1/4 but in overall its OK!

Is that a joke? There are three American tracks in GT5. Same as Japan.
