The thing I find about as 4WD is that you really want every tunable device you can get: LSD, adjustable susp., torque splitter, and AYC if you have it, in order to get the whole car to behave exactly how you want it. Rear-drives don't need as fine attention to detail, I find.

FIRST PRE-SEASON RUNNING COMING SOON!

I'm going to hold some practice sessions after the SFRS rounds this evening and tomorrow. I also want at least a couple of people to join me for some promotional photo shoots, so get an eligible car (with aero bits) that looks sweet, and we'll go out for some formation driving and position-posing on various circuits. This thread is lacking the visual material necessary to be really attractive...

Nice, I'll stay after for that. Can give my Evo VI TM a nice run and try and get it going sideways for you. I'll have a look for some aero parts that look fairly tasteful as well, I really don't like the stock wings on the older evos.

Any ideas for the tracks to do the shoot on?

REGULATIONS UPDATE.

After doing some testing, I've made up my mind to change the regulations from 525PP/SS, to 500bhp, 1400kg, sports medium tyres, free aero.

Well, not that I expect anyone to pander to me. ;) But I think a bhp/weight restriction, medium tire, & aero options will make MY car choice & tuning decisions a bit easier. Not saying I'll do any better (or hopefully not worse) in actual driving. But it gives me a lot less to have to think about with power/weight ratios in regards to wheel spin. It gives me a chance to concentrate more on the actual driving aspect... which is what I need.

I know of at least one person who would agree with you. He presses me to use the torque splitter & adjust it always in 4wd cars. I never understand why it helps or how, but it does. I highly recommend it. That said, I'm rarely better in 4wd cars, that some people say SHOULD be so-called "easier to drive". I've been told my "driving style" somehow works against the best things about 4wd cars. LOL If I could just figure out what that means, maybe I'd be aces. haha.

I think Toscana in the evening would be good, posing near some trees, with the sunset in view. Also at the Valkyriering, at the beginning of the back straight, looking down to the two kinks. Maybe Stage 5 as well, amongst the lighted trees before the final bend. Deep Forest, looking from above, down into the ravine.

See if you can bring two or three cars to shoot. Different colours preferably. I'll make a new lounge as well and enable microphones to make it easier to direct.

Something in the rain could look quite good, not sure what would be best for it though. I'll try and get some cars sorted for it after work. Just a mix really, probably won't all be tuned to race specs as I don't have the credits to do that at the moment.

No need to do them up to the nines, they just have to look right. We'll be running round at cruising speed.

I'll see what I've got and what I can afford that I either want or looks like it could be good.

Turned out I forgot to do an oil change when I first got the Evo, went from 480 to 503!

That + front aero = 1:09.691 on High Speed ring

Even beat my 135i after it's little diet!

Beengo!

leMAN24, sorry, no sports cars or grand tourers. Take a look at the list in the first post for another idea.

I've got the following for tonight:

  • Dodge Challenger R/T '70
  • Subaru Impreza WRX STI '05
  • Mazda RX-8 Type S '07 (four seats!)
  • M3 CSL
  • Audi Quattro '82
  • 135i
  • Evo VI T.M (my little beauty)

It was good getting those photos, especially on Tokyo. Will you be doing any pre-season stuff for this tomorrow?

I won't be doing anything tonight, but definitely this weekend.

Oh, and like a true fool, I only forgot to save the Tokyo drift replay - we'll do it again another time, and properly. :)

I may have saved that one, I'll check tonight. I will turn up to the race tonight with a right banger though, see if I can beat the bluebird and primera.

Ok, I will run the Mitsubishi Evo Tommi Makinen edition in Red (the stock colour, the only colour it should be :p)

Interesting that we now have two Evo Tommis. Remember, if you want, you can form two-driver teams in this series.

I'm starting a team of my own...more details to follow.

Not sure if I want to run in the same car as someone else, I picked the Evo hoping no-one else would! Tried to be unique and failed miserably.

^Same as me. I might change. Between now and July I won't be on GT5 very much so it will be a late change.

Anyways, what days will this championship be on? Every night apart from the weekend would be ideal but I could race those nights if needed.

I might have a shot at this in a black Skyline 370GT.

Yeah, I figured most people would be busy at the weekends but might be free weeknights, so it's likely the Tuesday-and-Friday schedule may stay.

Definatley good for Tuesday's and will make most Fridays.👍

Actually, I've changed my mind about the car. Couldn't get the 370 to make 493hp so I'll switch to the Skyline GT-R V.Spec II (R32). It's the same colour.

I can do:

Mon, tues, weds, thurs and sundays. Every other friday and Saturday too, I'll let you know what dates these are.

Interesting concept! And I like the choice of cars and the Sports Medium restriction. Ill have a closer look!

This Sunday evening at 7pm (BST), I'll be holding a lounge for some short practice sessions/races, of about 15 minutes each. Track vote.

I'll be there on Sunday, any ideas for the tracks?

Nice, I absolutely love the valkyrie ring. By far the best track I've seen made with the creator.

I'm gonna try and get a couple of cars together to test and see which I like the most. Strangely the XFR handled like a dream on my practice laps of the nurb but when it was in the race it all turned into jelly and wouldn't hold a line at all.

Oh yeah, me and Phayzor might be teaming up for this championship but we'll let you know colour/car when we've got it worked out. On that matter would we have to run in the same car or just the same body/wheel?

Yeah, I'm keen to team up Xku considering we extremely closely matched. I've also been wondering wether it's just the same colour or the whole car altogether.

Anyways I'll be sure to pop in tonight.
