I'm also someone who best enjoys racing road cars, but I like racing LMPs and GT500 cars as well. I've had fun racing with this group, though I haven't had a great many battles because I always seem to skyrocket off the front of the pack. :/
 
I have finally decided on my car - It is the BMW M5 '05... for better or wurst!!!

It will feature a particularly attractive shade of Raspberry red pearl.

FIRST PROPER PRE-SEASON RACE:

Deep Forest. 45 minute race, mandatory pitstop. This Sunday, 19th June. Lobby up 20.15, start 21.00 (UK/BST/GMT+1).

NOW IS THE TIME to think about nailing your final choice of car. If you want to team up, start talking about it now. I have a slot for a second driver in my team, Ecurie Londres. If you wish to join my team, you may choose any car, but the colours must be "British Racing Grün" for the body (if you don't have it, I'll send you the chip), any silver for the wheels.

In order to be on a team together... It's necessary.. or NOT necessary to have the same car model?

Is it just the colour that must be the same? Or must the car and colour be the same?

I'm signed up for a race on Sunday 11pm CET. Anyone know the 12hr time in BST for 11pm CET? (I just mainly know I'm EDT, & therefore 5 hours earlier than BST.)
I hate Sundays & would love to jam pack races into Sunday... but I don't want to risk overlapping. I had just been planning to be ready from 4pm on, to see when 11pm CET rolls around. LOL
 
It is perhaps preferable for team cars to be the same, but this is NOT necessary. The colours, meanwhile, MUST be the same for both cars.

According to my converter, 11pm CET is 10pm BST. Please correct me if I'm wrong, anybody.

Thanks... I think that sounds right, according to what's in the other thread too. (I just get sketchy when it comes to the +1 and summer daylight stuff.)

The reason I ask about teaming is because jackargent seems to have... somehow managed to pick the same colour for his BMW M5, that I have on my BMW 135i.
I actually searched the SFRS thread, to see if my odd car colour was ever mentioned, to see if jackargent was trying to mess with me! :sly: But it wasn't - he could not have known.
It's so bizarre, that it can only mean maybe either we should just be teamed up... Or alternatively, it may mean we both ought to be locked up for mental aberrations. LOL

I'm not going to make it to the race today.
But I hope there'll be another pre-season practice race soon. Perhaps on Tuesday or Thursday this week?
 
Sorry I had to dash off yesterday 19L had a few things I needed to do before work today.

19L Count me in! I am going to test some cars tonight but Im thinking the C63 or the IS-F.

I am good for Tuesdays no problem but I may miss some Thursdays.

I will let you know what the car is tommorow but it will be white with black wheels.

Just wondering if you could put me down as a reserve driver? I know I can't make all of the races but I reckon I can do 1 in 3 or there abouts. By all means you can replace me with a Permanent racer but while there are slots open I can see it doing any harm!

I'm going to be running on a team with 'learningcurves' he will be choosing the car!
 
Stupid question time: in GT5, what's the difference between brake horsepower (BHP) and hp as listed under a car's statistics?
 
They are the same I'm pretty sure, though the game may show a 1-2hp difference for some reason. Unless one is measured in PS... nah that can't be it.

Alright 19L, me and Phayzor are going to be in a team together. We'll be using bright red (Passion Red) and the name is Ralliart. Both with Evo's.

SOFA DRIVERS it is then. I'm "comfortable" with that.

The restrictions are 493hp, 1400kg with sports medium tires. The lobby will be hosted by 19L.

This is the Skyline Coupe, yes? Because the Fairlady is a sports car, and therefore ineligible for this...

It's as much about design and appearance as number of seats/doors. The Fairlady is in the same class as the RX-7, Toyota Supra, BMW Z4, Porsche 911, etc. BMW M series cars are fine.
 
Ugh, a power cut killed my GT5 save. I'll still be able to make it though, I've already made it past level 20 in a matter of hours thanks to the Civic seasonal and got myself a new R32 identical to the last one.

It's surprisingly bearable since my replays and photos survived, it's just a matter of battling my way through the events again. Which isn't massively difficult save one or two of them.
