I have to agree with Phayzor on that, I'll pm you my tune to see what you think. AYC increases oversteer so you want it fairly high but not too high and it ends up never over or understeering.

Speed wise the Evo x isn't up to the 135 however its brilliant in the corners and mine accelerates like a demon. Figured that's the best setup for my style.

Yeah, you see I realized this quickly... where I knew I was going wrong somewhere.
Plus the one Evo I tried... NO ADJUSTABLE LSD. So that really put me in a problem!

So both Evos I tried seemed to have ridiculous amounts of understeer at really really horrid moments. I felt I'd be better off in an FF car any day.
But clearly there's something with tuning 4wd more than with other cars (FF) with understeer.
Can you really cure the understeer with AYC with no LSD adjustments, for example?

Not that I'd be considering switching at this late date, FYI.
If only because I've kind of grown attached to the 135i now. haha.
All the same I'd like to know what do to with the evo anyway, and I'd really appreciate you sending me your set-up on PSN or PM or whatever. Thanks! :D

I'm thinking this is the eifel custom track, that we test drove that day after the pre-season race at... Fuji I think.

But I'm not sure you were there disinfected.

I'm wondering if that's the Toscana track we did last series?

I know I have one & didn't get the other yet.
Unless the Toscana track is NOT the one I'm thinking of, in which case I have neither I think.

Sorry to hear that, Miura, but no worries, it's a long season...

On tuning 4WD, I don't believe AYC will necessarily "cure" understeer. My understanding is that it improves cornering stability. I usually have it set to minimum, and dial out any understeer simply with suspension and diff. In fact, I'm not even sure you really need a torque splitter, as I was once convinced you did...
 
I've got mine set to around 80 on the AYC (can't use the LSD with it it's either or) and my torque distribution is 20-80. For some reason I prefer cars that kick out a little at the back but this still takes some effort to do it with. Its a nimble and fast cornering car but it won't win any prizes for top speed. Highest I've ever got it was around 170mph whilst slimstreaming. Suspension I have set quite radically and I'm sure if I fine tuned it more it would be a little better but I'm one for getting a good all round setup and not changing it every track. I'll send you the settings I have when I get in from work later. However even with everything set to go for oversteer it still eats front tires.

I don't mind tuning up my secondary Evo and sending it to you if you promise to send it back. I try to keep two of the cars I use for racing series in case I mess up the tune close to a race! I get a tune I like an then buy the car again, tune it to the same and paint it a lairy colour so I know which is which.

So far I've tried the Evo 5,6,9 & 10 and or I've only got on with the 6 and 10. The Evo 9 I gave up on due to the understeer that was barely curable (I didn't give it a chance) and the Evo 6 is my favourite but it just doesn't seem to corner as reliably as the 10. I went from the 9 to the 10 and was absolutely amazed at how well it handled in the corners and the natural lack of understeer.

Yeah, High Speed Ring isn't really my favourite circuit tbh. My car was definitely worst on the straights.
 
Still would've been nice to have a 100% turnout in the opener...still...early days...
 
I for one think Madrid will be a MUCH more interesting race, since it has a lot more technical corners.

I've also shortened the calendar...15 rounds over two months is...too long, and requires too much commitment...
 
Surely doesn't effect me... I feel like I'm finally getting the hang of the 135i. (Well, at least in my dream fantasies I'm getting better. :lol:)
I was actually feeling almost optimistic about Madrid on Thursday in the Sofa Drivers practice session the other day... only to find that the race is postponed to Tuesday... when I can't attend. *sigh* That's how my luck goes. So now the next race is my dreaded Tokyo. That super license test on Tokyo actually gave me a belly ache. LOL
So I will just look forward to grand valley & indy... where I actually might not get multi-lapped. haha.
 
Yeah, sorry to hear that. At least you'll get most of the season in. And don't worry about Tokyo, we're not going there.

Truth is I'm already thinking about a new series for after this one. That's not the reason for the shortened calendar, mind you - it's just that two months is just long for a GT5 championship...
 
Ahhhhh the relief of no Tokyo.
(Though I'm bummin about the loss of Indy Super Speedway since draft battles are actually a stronger suit of mine. lol)

Anyway, short or long... I'm not picky. But I could imagine anything being quite long could be heavy on the math for the host. haha.
Having felt like I've spent much time working on math when organizing races. Lots & lots of math involved... from time math, to scheduling, to lap amount decisions, to points tallies. Lots & lots of math.
 
I think the previous series had a great time span imo. Either way, just like melon, I'm not picky. I'll go with anything tbh.
 
10 rounds is a nice round number of events to have, I think.

Im sorry that i couldent participate in the previous races. This week im working afternoon that means i cant do 3 , 4 eighther.. it sux and im sorry again.. but my calendear shows that i can do race 5 - 9. If i Occypy an "un-nessesary" slot i totally understand, but im in (Race 5,6,7,8 and9) if im still welcome :)

Im starting a daytime work in August 15 so any upcomming events wont be any problem!!
