Trophies for Gran Turismo 5?

Platinium trophy for 5 years of waiting.
 
I too had never been to fussed about trophies either, just picking one up if i happened to do something trophy worthy. But then i got NFS:Shift, won a couple of trophies and then thought i might check the list out too see what needs to be done to get them, but thats about as far as i went with them there.

Then i got Red Dead Redemption the other day and one of the first things i did was check out what kind of trophies i can get.

So i think the more games that implement these trophies (apartently all games since a certain date?) the more i get into them.

I think its just another thing to 'achieve' in the game, and i caught myself wondering the other night (while looking at RDR trophies) what trophies will be in GT5 and was quiet excited with the thought.

I dont have my trophies setup to display on my Facebook page etc, and i have about 10 people on my PSN friends list, so i dont do them to show off or brag, i just use them as another feature in the game that tells me how well im going and kind of as a bit of motivation.

So i say bring on the GT5 trophies!

P.S. Love some of the trophies people are coming up with here! :)

Your Trophies are visible to other players you've met online, you can compare them.
Although I'm not really interested in Trophies I do compare Trophies sometimes just to see which other games my opponents are playing to base my completely unfounded judgement on.;)

Oh thanks i didn't even realize that as i never look for anybody else's. Haha fair enough just using to be to nosey at what other games people are playing!
 
Multiple Platinum trophies huh? First game to do it. (I would have thought Fallout 3 would have had it, but it doesn't...at least not out of the box...unless you get the GOY version.) But I'm thinking that platinums will come with completing Halls or series.

i doubt it, now maybe the series races might have golds and after a complete set of maybe 6-12 races will give you a bronze, and silvers will most likely be attained from long endurance races.

But not multiple platinum's that's like the equivalent to getting 5000 Gs off one game on X360 not gonna happen.
 
If it was confirmed, it wouldn't be a rumor.

GT5 will have one platinum just like all the other retail games have.

Meh. My limited understanding of Platinums is that it's usually one per game, and it's usually for grabbing every single other one available in the game, no?

Why would GT get more? And at the very least, I would assume it wouldn't be one for each league, because that's hardly exclusive, and would cheapen something that's apparently as rare as PSN Platinums. Finishing Beginner League? Pfft, if someone can't manage that they shouldn't even be playing the game :P.

I've been trophy hunting on Fat Princess and some of those are hard as hell to grab, and they're almost all bronzes. I realize PSN Trophies serve little purpose past bragging rights, but I really hope GT doesn't make it so that just anybody can get what's out of reach in basically every other game, just for finishing the lowest tier of GT Mode.
 
It was a Sony insider who mentioned it. I wouldn't be surprised if it was true. We'll find out soon enough.
 
First trophy: Survive the nearly 6 year wait.

you're right. IF there ARE multiples, I would assume they'd be more like for getting all hold liceneses or all cars and 100% of the game. But...if 1 trophy takes 2 weeks to get....I don't know.

That's much better of a list, i see you put some effort into making that.
 
This game is going to need allot of trophies, but i think they should split the trophies up into Online and Offline (career). just to get one of the platinums would be an awesome achievement.

(Secret trophies)

  • The Green Hell

    Beat 7:26.70 Nurburgring lap time with a Nissan GTR

  • And Cross the line!

    Complete a full clean lap around Top Gear Test Track without damaging your car

  • All we know is he's called the Stig!

    Beat the Stig around Top Gear Test Track

  • He's not the Stig but he's the Stig African's Cousin!

    Complete a lap in any rally track

  • Too much detail

    Take a photo in Rome Circuit
 
Gold

A Total of 1,000,000 miles across all game modes.
 
I hope to God it has an assload of trophies.

Replay value ftw.
 
For me is gonna be impossible to get platinum cause i'm sure that there'll be trophies for 24h races. However i don't care too much about them

It would be nice to have a 'GT Identity' or whatever they want to call it, which could be like a virtual 3D space, with a trophy cabinet and your 10 favourite (which you can select like in GTPSP) cars. This space could be themed on a garage and also have certificates for licences.

Other players could select a trophy and find out excatly what it is, and have a good look at the 10 'favorite cars' (inside and out!)

It could also contain a 'GT Passport' showing time ingame, current credits, credits earned, golds won etc.

Some of My own trophy Ideas:

"No more training Wheels"-Win a race with manual Transmision.
"The Fan"-Watch ten offline or online races in spectator mode.
"Bad Dreams"-Watch ten diffirent race replays of you wrecking your car to terminal damage.
"The MOBLIEone" Drive 1 car at every track configuration.
"Piggie Bank"-Earn a total of 1 million carrier credits straight...without buying a car or a car upgrade.
"The Big Picture"-Win any ten race championship without winning any of its races.
"No Need To..."-Win a race by skipping Qualifing and Practice.
"My Favorite Shoes"-Win an +100mile race on one set of tires.
"turned UP just fine"-Win a race that your car fliped in.
"Cheese Graded"-You hit the catch fence.
"Love Rainbows"-Your car collection has of every color in the rainbow.
"Team work" win a race with B-Spec mode or with another player...with one being the driver and the b-spec guy.

I know...but i think that there will probably be one with the damage mode. So that everyone tries it out. And if there are such trophys, i hope that they arent for online...

Personally I prefer games with trophies which reward skill rather than progression. There is little skill involved in winning 10 single-player races, everyone will get that trophy, winning 100 online races however, is something which demands a higher level of skill, and is not necessarily part of the natural game progression. To obtain the GT5 platinum, I would say one must be able to show their skill by making their presence known online.

Besides, online won't be that hard, not EVERYBODY who will play GT5 is as good as the players here on GTPlanet.
