With the seats available that don't have a big bar between your legs, I can't imagine buying one of these instead of them. You can still get the RSeat GTR V2 for the G27 for $399 + shipping and it's a fine rig. Or the Obutto cockpit for the same price.

yeah that's the argument against the playseat, I've had minds for about 2 years now & the center bar doesn't bother me at all anymore... I'll be upgrading later this year, Rseat in my scope...

I never touch the center bar. I'm 6 foot and drive with both feet. The pedal plate is adjustable to do anything you want comfortably.

Right on.
The center bar will always be a no go for me. Regardless if your knees/legs hit it or not, I like it debris free between my legs:sly:

Even removing the center bar from the equation, the playseat just can't even come close to the likes of an Obutto. I had my playseat for over 3 years. When I upgraded to an Obutto it was night and day. Comparing the comfort of the two is like comparing an air cooled VW to a Lexus.

I have Obutto with triple screen and it's pretty solid. Since I also surf the web and play other games besides racing having no center bar & keyboard plate is a huge plus. The advantage Playseat has over Obutto is it take up less room and is easier to move around.

I have been eying one of these for years, heard too many mixed impressions so I never purchased one. It is also the main reason I haven't purchased a wheel yet, no where to mount it. :grumpy:

Enjoyed the review/video :)

Evolution was my first ever cockpit.....

It looked really cool in white but the creaking in the seat was a bit annoying and comfort was more like 3/5. Still though it served the purpose rather well.

Long gone but think I have a shifter bracket still in a box somewhere.

If a Playseat has creaky springs, then all you need to do is treat them with some 3 in 1 oil, problem solved.

As for the comfort side, the seat is very comfy on the bum, but the back of the seat is like a torture device for me & many others! I bought a Type S lumbar support from Passion Automotive, looks great on the Playseat & turns it into a very comfortable place to sit. Did several 9 hour sessions in GT Academy 2010 with 0 problems.

By the way, if you still have your gear shifter add on, you should sell it as they're as rare as hens teeth on the second hand market. The price form new is also sky high, you could probably get your money back or make a profit, all the while helping some poor fellow sim racer out.

I have been thinking of upgrading my shifter mount to this one. http://www.playseatstore.com/gearshiftholder-pro.html

I love my Playseat Evolution:bowdown::bowdown:

And it is surprisingly comfortable to sit in, for long periods. Even after years of wear.

But I have a suggestion for an improvement, if they make Playseat Evolution V2.0

Then it should be constructed so that all of the cables are going through framework.
I'm always afraid that someone will trip on the cables and snap them of. Or damage anything else on my multi monitor setup .

Out of sight, out of mind:p
