No such thing. :D

People who buy stock Hondas and drive them like they think they're race cars should be stripped of their licenses.

Remove the word "Honda" and replace it with "car" and you make sense. Or do you think it's allowed to buy a stock Buick and drive it like it's a race car?

When I started this thread, I wanted some information, some advice. I stated my problem, and waited for a response. I listed the cars I have used and explained I had been experiencing trouble with them. What I wanted was some sound assistance, and what I got was someone taking personal offence to my comment about not liking the Integra, or "teg" as you so call it. Not what I wanted at all, and this is not a rate-the-car arena that I opened in the first place. But since someone felt it was necessary to take such a comment to heart and begin to defend the Integra, I decided to defend my own opinion, something which, the last time I checked, I was allowed to have. I am allowed to "whine" and "complain" about anything I want, if everyone else is allowed to. Once again, thank-you to all the users who actually listened to my problem and helped out instead of choosing not to see past the name of a car they really think is cool; as a result I have passed the FF Professional challenge, which I feel is the most difficult series in the entire game. Now before someone tries to attack me for thinking this, and offer their own opinion on how this is an "easy" challenge, remember that your opinion doesn't count for anything more than mine does, and if you want to boast about how you are so good at driving FF cars, either in GT3 or in real life, open your own thread and I'll be sure to check it out. Maybe I'll answer your queries with an answer that totally does not apply.

You took the lead in the allegedly off-topic discussion:

"I love how all those guys on the roads with their Integra Type Rs and lawn-mower exhaust tips actually drive some of the worst handling cars in all of GT3."

First mention of the real-life car. Made by... you.

"The car is a nightmare to turn, and if you're unlucky enough to draw the Spoon Civic itself as one of your competitors, you have absolutely no chance, and should just go buy some more window decals for that Integra instead of trying to win a race with it."

Second "Ricer" allusion. Made by... you.

"I hate the persona that goes with that car, as well as the manner in which nearly 100% of the people who own them (100% MALES, incidentally) drive them. If I have to deal with one more lame-o tailgating me on the highway and then weaving in and out of lanes without using his turn signal (obviously not having read the disclaimer at the beginning of GT3), all the while letting me have the pleasure of listening to his garbage music thumping away with the bass turned way up so it rattles my windshield and rearview mirror, and mixing this audial melody with an overpowering hint of cheap muffler tip exhaust note, I might snap right there in my car and go crazy on him, a la Michael Douglas in Falling Down . People who buy stock Hondas and drive them like they think they're race cars should be stripped of their licenses. A brand new set of rims on a canary yellow Integra does not a race car make. Cut. Print. That's a wrap."

It looks to me as if you've got a little bit of an axe to grind with Hondas. Which is made all the more amusing by your people who cannot "see past the name of a car" comment, seeing as you've chosen not to see past even the first part of the name.

Those who "defended" the car did nothing of the sort. They merely said "it's not THAT bad" in GT3, which it isn't.

You are, of course, perfectly entitled to your opinion. However, don't complain about off-topic discussions when you actually instigated it yourself. If you didn't want to discuss real cars, why did you bring them up at all? However, you can rest assured that all the people who apparently behave badly on the roads around you will behave badly no matter what car they're in - and the car they ARE in is most likely NOT a Honda Integra Type-R (although it may be a normal Integra).

If you like "hard" series, try the Formula GT or Italian Avante Garde. Many people who hate driving FF cars also have a hard time with the Vitz/Yaris Trophy, especially on SSR11. If you need help on that, do a search with my name included. That'll give you some nice settings.

I don't get it, I tuned the Acura ITR a little, and won the FF Pro races easily. It's probably one of the best FF cars out there.

Actually, the Spoon Civic is what baffles me. I can't get it to turn, and the engine note is quite annoying. (Not to mention, I can't win a yellow one, despite four separate attempts.)

Dont go all out power with fwd. It'll just eat up the tires. You gotta find a good balance to win that race. Once you do, its easy.

It depends how anal you are about your definition of drifting. In my aforementioned and beloved Celica i slide around like a mofo. What about the Citroen Xzara? Rally driving is the same as drifting in my books. Different tires and surface but same challenges and techniques. Can you "not rally in a FF" as well?

That's just sliding around sideways. If you want to raise hell in this age-old argument, then continue. If you want nothing to happen just leave it alone :D

(there are threads that have gotten quite argumentative on this subject)

I have passed the FF Professional challenge, which I feel is the most difficult series in the entire game.

have you even tried formula gt?

you must be tired spoon s2000 is FR!

I was merely comparing power (speed 12) and balance (spoon S2000) at the same level of racing experience, i know its a fr car. lol

My first drifting car is Integrea type R (98) and I think it rules because you don't need to do braking and stuff you just press the e-brake and slide. It works really well and it looks cool too!

EDIT: So don't you ever trash my integra :) :) :)

Congrats. Take 1 racing serie at a time.

Dude, don't just floor it at the apex, wait until you see the straight until you gas it. You also might need to get totally off the gas throught the whole corner, depending on how slow it is.
Sometimes the best speed through the corner is with no gas at all.

yeah, maybe thats why he thinks they have bad handling. it is an annoying trait. atleast with 4wd you can set it to the rear so its basically a fr. thats what i do with all my 4wd cars.

Exactly! How much fun is it to have to let your car coast through a turn because otherwise if you touch the gas it will plow into the wall? Much more fun to strap into a Trueno or a Skyline or an NSX and play around with the acceleration and drifting and actually have some fun. I don't know, maybe it's just me but I think of the FF challenge as more of a chore than a joy.

I wont argue with you Victor. We just have different definitions of what drifting is. Im not going to limit my self to 1 style.

While on the subject of FF driving has anyone managed an FF doughnut?

...or maybe its a bagel because Victor will surely tell me FF's can't do doughnuts. :sly:

that may be true anderton but doing ff races teaches you throttle control which is an important technique for any drivetrain. plus i think its fun to try to control different drivetrains, and yes i would agree that ff is the hardest to master.

I sawer it on Speed once, somebody won one of those SCCA races in an Integra and he threw it in reverse and did doughnuts :p

Racing is not about keeping the gas pedal on the floor and holding on. As in real racing (that was the point of the game after all), you have to use the brakes, Mario Andretti is quoted as saying "many professional racers don't understand the importance of properly using the brakes as a means of going faster". And since this is a racing game, the "name of the game" is going faster. As the button for the gas is pressure sensitive you can also use less throttle.
If you can figure out how to drift a Skyline, you can figure out how to properly drive an FF car. It just isn't that hard. Slippin' and Slidin' is fun, and it takes a great deal of skill, but the bottom line is lower lap times. Learn to brake properly/in plenty of time, and your lap times will decrease.
Seek out Famine's settings for the Vitz. Use them, and take the Vitz out for a Spin in "Free Run" and I guarantee you will be pleased with the handling after you learn how the car is going to respond to certain imputs.

What? I think it looks much better in white. I kept getting the yellow one, took me about 4-5 tries until I finally got the white one.

Just for the fun , yesterday night I raced the FF pro leage race again.
I used the Mitsu FTO GPR with T2 tires. All the other cars had to stop for a tire change while I didn't have to.
So I won by a 20 seconds margin.
The VW Beetle was not racing. It is imho the toughest oponent in that serie
I don't know if it's a coincidence, but everytime I raced that serie with the Celica TRD, the VW Beetle was racing too.
So it looks like the FTo should be the car to go with. I dislike the revamped beetle, and drove one only in the Beetle cup then sold it asap.

I'm not trashing your integra, but to me a FF drifting car is an oxymoron, like draft beer in a bottle, or an agile mucle car.

FF is the worst drivetrain for handling and accelleration. You can use technique and technology to improve it somewhat but you can not overcome physics. Even in the game the 400m times for FF cars are slower than equal wieght /hp ratio cars in FR/RR/4wd. The handling speaks for itself, if you conquer severe understeer you can get a descent time through the corner , but you will lose out in the straight due to poor accelleration compared to another drivetrain type. The cars exist in the real world and its something else to drive . also I need to drive them to get 100% and I like some of them. These are the only reasons I can see to use the things. Never " I'm driving my FF because it will kick butt " Yea right...

FF is the worst drivetrain for handling .

Go tell that to Makinen, Aaltonen and Hopkirk who won the Monte Carlo rally in 1966 on a FF Mini Cooper ,sweeping the Porsche competition.I'm sure they will laughtheir assesoff.

It seems your a biasaed turkey. All things being equal FF is the worst drivetrain choice.
