TT 35: Laguna Seca (SUSPENDED) & Chamonix West. [Post 1 for tunes!]

We are using the same car, and I can see from the figures he was aiming for an oversteering balance (same as me). I spent some time trying to get it just right, so offered some friendly tips.
Could that not be too oversteery then?

Anyway, thank you Pekka for the tune.

Joao, you can't get rid of the aero. Do you have 2 of the same cars or something?

Jonas (Yanaran) is already lurking :scared: let´s see if he thinks is still driving the 787B from week 63 :dopey:

Haha, when I tried driving like that I just went flying off into the sand. :D I don't quite get along with these high/low setups but I gave it a try and managed a 36 flat. Might be able to squeeze into the top10 with some luck, provided noone else posts faster times of course! :p

Yes you can, just go to gt auto again

Dazmeister22 -

Thanks for being the first to post a set up. I gained 4 seconds on what I had put up with a LanEvoV.

4 seconds off the ultimate pace, but I didn't even cross a white line (Much like Petr Cech saving Chelsea today)

Car looks funny with the "Cylon" chin up and the tail down, but a very helpful set up, You should be very proud. (Also turning this thread from dirty driving expose and into one about empowered drivers.)

Up the Chelsea!

It is possible yes. I said what I would do,
He said he doesnt know how to tune.
If he decides to try it, it may help.

I sincerely apologise if I rustled your jimmies.

You can get rid of aero. Go to GT Auto --> Aero Parts

So... I wanted to try this combo and so I took Joao's car and then it took me 20 minutes just to do one bloody lap.
No way I'm driving that understeery crap on this awful track.
Off after 1 lap, everyone bellow 37 is a wizzard.

Looks like I'm losing my GT5 touch. :(

Thanks KB, Which car did you try?
I have both on share, but the GSR is easier to achieve a nice lap.
Hoolidaz said a 1:35.2 or .3 is possible. (I did 35.7)

I just didnt get time to tune the Evo VIII. It may be slightly faster??
but mine needs a better tune(to beat the GSR).

I tried both. They are both good, but I actually like the GSR better since that was the first car I started with and am most used too.

Currently in 3rd at Laguna with a 1:35.867. Here's what I did:

Buy a brand new Evo X from Premium dealership. DO NOT DO AN OIL CHANGE.

Performance upgrades are everything except engine stage 1,2 or 3 and no turbo upgrade. So, it has all the best exhaust parts, air filter parts, suspension drivetrain etc. Oh and all the weight reduction parts too.

Here's the setup:

393bhp - Powerlimiter 100%
Ballast 170kg @ +50

Suspension:
RH 40/-15
SR 11.7/8.9
EXT 5/6
Com 6/5
ARB 4/4
Camber 1.0/0.7
Toe -0.15/0.05

LSD 10/20/12 Front
10/26/14 Rear

Torque Distribution 40/60

Gearbox

Reset to default, then set Final gear all the way to the right, then set max speed all the way down (to the left), then set individual gears to these settings:

1st-2.732
2nd-2.097
3rd-1.674
4th-1.385
5th-1.187
6th-1.044

Then set Final gear back to 4.213, this should give a max speed at the top of 140mph (approx 220km/h)

I'm no pro at tuning but this setup works for me, although I'll probably continue to make a few tweeks.

Thanks for the setup bro !
Really working for me.

Unfortunally I still some loooong way to go. Only manage to do 1:39:xx after 15 laps.

At chamonix I noticed the Elise RM is extremely quick and at one point i was 3 tenths quicker than Amo! Already down to 21st in my second full lap. This car can beat the Evo Rally Car!

Edit: 3 more laps in and I'm in 5th

Added Madmax's Evo III GSR tune to original post. If we receive a favorable Chamonix tune, it'll be displayed as soon as possible.

Tried this setup and ran a 1:37.511 on my FIRST flying lap. Good enough for 153rd on the board.

Excellent setup.

I can certainly find more time in my driving with a bit more practice.

Cheers

Rob

I got gold with the Evo X tune from this topic but before that I ran a 1:40 with my Lancer Evolution 1. Not tail happy enough but faster in terms of speed than the Evo X.

I've seen a few 111Rs on the leaderboard so I've been trying to get mine to work. Its a lot of fun but I have no idea how to set it up for snow. Can you share your tune?

Cheers

Stan

Struggling to get gold on the Laguna Seca one. Did it in the Evo X but see that the top times are form the Evo *Roman Numeral* '03'. Gonna try later.

Wow, Amo switched to the Elise and dropped almost 3 seconds from his lap!

Wow, I just watched a few of the top guys replays at Chamonix and they are totally cutting that one corner big time. Totally off the track and up on the snow bank. Clearly a blatent shot at taking advantage of a programming flaw. Not saying I'm perfect, but I would have never thought of doing that while attempting that tt. This is clearly a case of monkee see, monkee do. One person finds a flaw and exploits it, then everyone else follows suit. Noticed there was a bit of fence bumping also. I was going to take a shot at this tt, but I'm not now knowing that you have to cut that corner just to be competitive. Not my style and its not how I roll. Congrats to the exploiters and their followers. Well done. (Yes, that was sarcasm)

C'mon now you never seen real rally? I mean you can cut corners bit there.....

You can't be serious. If you think what they are doing is alright, then you are just as bad as they are. If thats your way of thinking, why have a track at all. Just make it one big free-for-all romping through the snow banks with a finish line somewhere. Pretty sure there is a track there for a reason. People just like to find flaws in these tt's and exploit them for whatever reason. Anyway, just thought I'd add my thoughts on the matter. I'm not going to sit here and argue with you about it.

Nah not arguing 👍
That is just what I think.
Havn't even tryed new TT's or watched replays so I might be wrong :)
So I don't realy know how big shortcut is there.

Some people will always push the limits, that's why the human race is so advanced. Otherwise we would still be hanging around in trees and the motor car would never have been invented and therefore GT5 would not even be idea.

For achievers whose only aim is to be the best, they will do anything - including finding the best tune, best driving line, understand as many variables as is possible and cut corners. To that end, TTs are about finding the quickest route around the track without getting a red time and not necessarily the cleanest (if it were then I'm sure the top guys would be finding that too).

Cutting the corner will not guarantee you the fastest lap so you need to work on every aspect and the short cut is a tiny portion. Remember - white lap time = Good, red lap time = Bad. Simple.

First time here that I've seen the bit about NOT changing the oil, wasn't aware of that. Between a couple different accounts I am using I have seen it make about a 1.50 - 2.00 sec difference usng the Evo X. Then used the Evo VIII untuned, just mods added to take it to 500pp and did a 1.40. Going to have a serious go at improving my times in this one using the posted tunes, usually it's just a hard go at it to play for the gold time and take the money and run.

Jesus, people don't have ethics anymore.

Every day, I see more clear this 2012 year will be the end of the world.

This is not a question of ethics, I agree that the corner should not be cut (should have mentioned this in my last post) ethically it's wrong. The game permits you to cut the corner (and by the way that's just what it is - a game), so if you want the fastest time you have no choice.

If there was a comment box next to your time, perhaps you can say I did this the fastest I could without cutting - but you probably wouldn't be on the leaderboard which is really the point of the TT for some people. If you aren't bothered then you drive the track normally. I managed a sub 2:10 time without cutting.

With all due respect, I don't think the world is going to end this year. But I do agree there is a change in social mood which is being reflected in politics and the economy, but don't get me started on that subject.

I agree with you here, I was only kidding.

So, if the game allows you to go by Nordschleife in a straight line, would you do it? where's the fun on it? where are the skills?

lmao!! 👍 can't stop laughing at this image

Its crap there is a cut, but someone was going to do it.
I guess amo didnt wish to be beaten by someone cutting,
Maybe he did a lap, and was beaten by someone cutting??
"If you cant beat em join em" kind of thing.

It is absolutely a question of ethics, in fact, it's a classical dilemma...

Do I race this track as it was intended, or do I cut this corner for a top score...

The choice is clear to me...

If you're not cheating, you're not trying.

That's such a silly statement :dopey: Some people do try to stay clean and restarts loads of times until they perfect their lap! If that's not trying then I don't know what is? :dunce:

Some of the people who post in this thread and condone the cheats don't really deserve replies! but I answered this one simply for the absolute stupidity of the comment 👎 most of you are a waste of time tbh... take your no skill whatsoever racing etiquette elsewhere please as it's getting really old listening to this garbage :)

Now I see why many of you don't take part in the WRS :sly:
