What is you're first upgrade when you get a car?

Hiya if you have any good turbo charged cars that you want to show, show them here. Please also give the specs. :sly: :sly:

I only do the exhaust first because its the easiest one to get to and then i do the rest in order i think that that is rather logical. Usually i have enough money to do the lot so it doesnt really matter
 
Well, it depends on which car I'm driving. Either I don't upgrade the car at all, or if its a car that has less than 350 hp, I put a stage 1 or 2 turbo (or NA tuneup if there is no option for a turbo) on it, then maybe a weight reduction. If the car is already powerful, I might consider weight reduction for those cars that are heavy.

i know that why i asked! No-one wants to use brakes? i have this guide thingo and it says brakes are important. do u use out in out driving through corners or slow in fast out? or wall ride?
 
I don't need brakes that bad. I just initiate a slide to scrub speed.

EDIT: Saw your second post. Please, on the lower right hand corner of your post, there is an edit button. Use it please. So noone gets on your ass about whoring. :)

And the reason for the order of my things, is I don't like to fully upgrade a car unless I am using B-Spec.

that nissan fairlady rules i like all your cars except for the mitsubishi. i especially like your subaru and your m5!

No offence but mitsubishi's suck. i was verseing one in the rallies a 3,4,5,6,7,8 and all of them had no chance of beating my '04 subaru rally car. so what they did is the got on the inside of the corner and turned out into the front of my car giving me a 5 sec penalty! it was a 1 a-spec race. then i raced against a toyota rally car it was 4 points and atleast he was fair!
 
Haha, unfortunately, I don't rate how much I like cars ALL because of performance (not that I had problems with any that I posted), but I admit that I am biased on beauty as well. I can't help it!

Edit: I would rate the R89C's handling 8 (that F1 is totally freaking good) and speed, 9 or 10, closer to 9 though.
 
Do You Mean RL car or In game car? I got rl Turbo Car with 260Hp (it weights only 620 kg) so the power to weight ratio is just amazing, what do you think?

I dunno how to put an image, darnit, I could show my engine from Corolla... :)

Youre talking bout your real car? Here we are talking about in game cars

to add pictures you transfere from ps2 to computer and then at the bottom of the write message page go upload images to image shack, then it will give you a url and then just copy and paste it into write message page. viola
 
First thing I change in most cars I buy (as of now I'm doing manufacture races, so i'm just looking for a little edge) I change the flywheel & clutch right away. It'll make a slow reving car feel like it's got 2x more power than it really has. Tires help a great deal no matter what the circumstance, but sometime illegal for race and sometimes a bit inefficiant on the wallet. ECU comes soon after that because it'll alow your car to rev a bit more agressivly. Weight is usually in there somewhere, but it depends on car. And I rarelly do the last weight upgrade unless my B-Spec Bob needs more speed. After that point I'm just going for pure power/dollor ratio.

Gotta love the levin. And yes, i pulled off this drift. I only had about 2 feet max room from my corner panel and the wall.

I might buy on of these in a couple of years, once they've been out a while and any immediate problems have been sorted out. (sorry for the poor photochop job, only spent like 2 minutes with it)

I just passed 42% rock on. By the way this originally was about turbo cars but now is about upgrades!

Dude, it's your thread and you're the one steering it all over the place, but at least you're steering it back on topic now.

I throw a new set of tires on, 'cos they can often improve a lap time much more than a horsepower upgrade. It's all good being fast on the straight, but you have to carry that speed through the corners.

The chip is the next thing, it gives the best bang-for-your-buck, then move onto exhaust etc. Buy the items that give the most horsepower per dollar. Something like porting is the worst. You can spend $15000 to get 5 horsepower, what a rip!! :)
 
My first upgrade has to be the clutch and/or flywheel (especially on less powerful cars). It makes the gear changes so much faster, which in a slow paced race is crucial and can be the difference between first and last.
