i found it ironic that i had more problems getting the bike than winning the tz250rm championship. i would say it was easier because i qualifed on soft tyres then raced on mediums. but, i crashed out of first place at the 130r on lap 3 yet was back in first before t1 lap 4.

So I've been putting this one off with what I've been reading here about the difficulty. Tried for the first time last night. First attempt I passed the first guy just before the chicane and had my front wheel right at the final guys leg just as we crossed the finish line. Then every subsequent attempt after that found me being slower and slower:( I gave up after about 8 attempts. Last try I couldn't even get the first guy down before the first lap.

Perhaps I was too tired. I'll have a go again tonight.

I just wonder why when you knock them down you fail, and if they knock you down you still fail. Heads I lose, tails they win? Oh well, I still beat it being as dirty as I possibly could. Seems like you can run them off the track and still get off clean, just make sure not to hit them hard enough for them to fall.

After getting gold I went back to T-bone the first ******** and told the other fella I was going to burn his house down.

Reminds me a bit of the special conditions races in GT4, where the car behind you could spin you around and then run into you head-on, and you'd still be the one getting the five second penalty. AI can do what it wants, you can't...

Oh man...I finally gave it a shot....I was going to kick my kitten...so frustrating. Ive also found that the buell RM race at laguna seca is pretty hard too.

I did it this weekend after about 8 attempts. I passed the lead bike just before the last hairpin (I actually bumped him a bit) that heads into the long straight (not sure what the turn is called) and won by being in the lead for 10 seconds. Time came up as 1:47.xxx but I assume that's the time I actually took the lead because I'm pretty sure the actual total time was 1:57 when the clock hit zero.

Someone asked for a replay ... this challenge was driving me nuts too, until I eventually just got it. Probably not the most graceful ride ever, but it's not like I'm ever gonna do *that* one again.

Im still trying to get the tz250. Closest I have been is within a bike length at the finish.

Attempted it right after I silvered all the licenses (and got my Rossi gear).

The Buell RM was a bit of a pain. honestly the race at laguna seca was tougher than the challenge. The buell is not easy to get through the corkscrew upright, I would enter the corkscrew at about 45mph with NO trail braking and let it roll down the hill then hit the gas at right hander and try not to lowside, if I tried to trail brake the left hand part it would come out the right hander too hot and lowside.

whats freaky is I turned a low 1'44" at velencia on the buell RM. thats faster than most of the challenge times for the superbikes.

The Buell races were easy for me. I took first on Laguna the first time I tried it, Which makes no sense, cause, the 250 challenges are driving me friggen nuts!!

Ahh, the TZ250 - well worth the pain. This is definitely the hardest challenge and I spent a while getting my first TZ250 but not long getting the other colours.

I found the trick was to go deep into the corners, almost stop then hammer the throttle out of the corner. Got me by the second place bike by the Dunlop bridge on lap one and about 2 seconds back from the leader by the end of the first lap. I'd be right behind the leader by the tight right hander before the back straight and take them on the exit.

Also found that getting the line right through the chicane just after the Dunlop bridge was key to a good time - I'd brake fairly early for the right hander before the bridge, blip the throttle then brake briefly again for the entry to the chicane, coast into the left hander than nail it a little later than I thought I should and hit the outside curb as I exited the corner. Accelerating when I initially wanted to left me in the grass on the right of the curve so I delayed a little and started getting through there cleanly.

Good luck to anyone stuck on the challenge.

I got gold on the first one can only muster a silver on the last two....maybe tonight.

I now have all four of the TZ250s, one in each color. Each win was a little bit different, each one was exciting in it's own way.

hi guys my first post here as i just found this forum just wanted to say been fighting with this challenge for a week but as of today ran a 2'01 for a win then a 1'54 now a 1'42.722 this is one tough challenge here but finally getting it just to add this one i just finished did it in 1'39.722 and yes i do take the short cut lol

I passed this one after a few tries (without cutting the chicane), and I think the key is good braking technique. If you select Pro mode at the outset, hopefully you're going to get a feel for independent braking, and this challenge is one of those places you'll need it.

You've got a left-right chicane followed immediately by a left-hand hairpin:

1) Enter the intial left-hander balls out,
2) apply the front brake only as you turn through the right-hander, then
3) stomp on the back brake as you stand the bike up to approach the left-hand hairpin.

Holding off on using the back brake until you clear the right-hander means you can get through the chicane quickly without sliding the back end.

AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGG

As many of the tz250's as I'm tearing up, you'd think they would give me a used one just so I'd go away.

I'm not getting the chicane as well I'd like either... I tried it tight, loose and cheating. I can usually get the 2nd place rider at or about the chicane. Damn this is a tough one. I can catch the 1st place rider at the bottom of the long straight on the last lap and then it's over. I cant get the right sweeper right with this bike. Tomorrow I may just use the 2nd place bike as a pacer for a while until I learn the right speed and line through there.

The TZ125 was a bear, but it was fun, as was the R6 RM... but this is just irratating. It's my last Yamaha to challenge too. Figures it has to be the hardest.

Good luck

I spent the better part of a gaming session on trying to beat it....I had to turn it off.
The next day it only took 4 trys to get it.

I did finally manage to get the TZ250, without cutting the chicaine or the last turn. I beat the last AI bike by drafting him up the back straight, I came out of the hairpin in perfect position and was able to draft him.

trick with the TZ250 is you have to be fast and agressive as hell when turning, but treat the throttle like its a literbike.

The TZ250 loves to be thrown into a turn hot with a late brake manuver, faster on this bike than the typical slow in - fast out technique

Only way I was able to beat the challenge was to take every turn hot and late brake.

that last straight will make or break you... considering your even close to the lead bike... BRAKE LESS use the engine compression to slow down TRUST ME!!

FRIGGEN FINALLY

2.00.899 I won the gray one. Dang... you have to crush teh brake last minute, slam it down, tuck up and power out early. Not much room for variation. And yes, the back stretch with position is the key to the win.

yay i got it i drafter the 2nd bike down the back straight and got inside him on the last turn and i had 4 seconds to go on the 10 sec clock ill post a video for ne one who wants to see
