With what Chelsea spends, you'd think that, but in reality that team was rather poor (for a CL winning side). Looking back, it's really hard to believe how they came away with the trophy, a miracle on the pitch reminiscent of Greece 2004. Barely making it through the group stages, being down big against Napoli, riding their luck against Benfica, the well-documented miracle against Barcelona, being thoroughly outplayed in the final. I'd say they were the better side over a match only once in the knockout stages (second leg against Napoli), but they won.

Chelsea would have been killed playing attacking football against Barcelona. Defending with ten men and Drogba playingw8eh2d out of his mind to set up counter-attacks was the only chance they had.
Double post. Phone was acting up.

Even so, If both games ended at 90 minutes Celtic would have got a draw at the Camp Nou and a 2-0 victory at Parkhead. Sure it could still be flukey but it shows how much grit was in the performance. Theres also other things such as Celtic had more shots combined over the 2 legs than Chelsea had and gave away only 3 fouls over both games whereas Chelsea had more than double that in one game.

Chelsea done great to win but theres no denying that they also had luck...both in getting a team prone to bottling and resulting to kicking Barcelona off the park in the late stages of both matches.

...Just found out my ticket to the home tie is going to be £49.

That's actually pretty decent for a Champions League last 16 tie. I dread to think what United's prices will be.

Really? Wow, I thought that was really expensive.

Shows how often I get to this stage.

OK, I've just checked the MUFC website and tickets for an average seat in the Sir Alex Ferguson stand for adults are £52 so about the same as Celtic tickets.

Oh dear. :dunce:

So, it's looking like I don't have a ticket for the Juventus game. Hope everyone who got a ticket enjoys the match, I'm sure it will be amazing.

But it is utter crap that people who have forked over a total of roughly £180 in Qualifiers and matches for the Champions League up to this point got no priority whatsoever. It's fair enough that ST holders get priority , they should, but the fact that each ST holder gets not one but TWO extra tickets is ridiculous. What's even worse is that these 2 'guest' tickets were able to be bought before people who went to all the previous games and as a result, all those 3-match-package buyers get absolutely nothing in terms of getting a ticket for the Last 16 match. Who thought this was a good idea? How many of these additional tickets have ever been to a game in their life? How many actually support Celtic and just want to see a Champions League match? How do people who didn't go to the games but know a season ticket holder suddenly get entitled to seats previously owned by fans who spurred Celtic on to where they are now? All these are questions that I wish I could ask the Celtic board who are clearly incapable of correctly running how things should be done regarding tickets.

I hear some ST holders saying that 3-Match package buyers aren't entitled to anything because they don't go to all the weekend games? well, some fans have jobs on a Saturday, every Saturday, which is when the majority of home games are. Buying a season ticket wouldn't make sense because of this. I go to all the SPL games I can mid-week. I watch the games I can't go to on TV when I can. I do what I can where Uni and Work allow it, but aye, these ST holders who shout at us for not being 'real' fans are telling the truth, and their 2 spare tickets which will probably end up going to people who don't go to games week in week out too. But, of course, they are more entitled.

A massive middle finger to Peter Lawell and his money-minded ways.

There was a similar situation at Man U a couple of seasons ago when I had a season ticket, we had to buy all fa cup home game tickets to auto qualify for champions league tickets (well it was something along those lines anyway) all I no is that it was utter ********

Yup.

The perils of supporting a team who don't do well.

Turns out I do have tickets, my mate's brother somehow got through at 9:30AM this morning. He could have told me that.

Its actually 8 days for Real-United..my mistake!:guilty:

^^^ Looking forward to that game, should be a cracker, all of the games should be really good to be fair.

Tickets go on sale for the Final tomorrow, I will be trying to get some. Anyone know if they sell out within minutes?

I don't think they completely sell out on release. 👍

The tickets are very well priced this year for the final, about £60 for the worst seats and about £300 for the best. I am actually thinking of giving my mum some money to buy tickets with.

EDIT: It's a balot meaning that everyone has up until the 15th March to apply and then tickets are picked randomly.

I'm half way through applying for them now, but it wants my national ID number, I have no idea where that is!

The UEFA website is retarded, it will only let me pay with a credit card, and I don't have one. And sometimes when I click on the link it takes me to some other part of the website that has no relevance whatsoever.

Tickets starting at £60 sounds very reasonable to me indeed, they will be crappy seats but even so.

Im excited for tomorrow and i dont even support the teams involved!

..im just looking forward to the best club competition in the world continuing after its winter break! :)
