Then they'd have been accused of covering up a crime - itself a criminal offence...I think they should have waited the 3 weeks before suspending and sacking him, saving themselves millions of dollars in the process.
They may mean that the BBC loses a billion pounds of revenue due to cancelled licences - but I doubt that, as that would require 1 in every 4 households to go On Demand only...Didn't one of those sites say BBC is losing a billion pounds because of cancellation fees or something?
Ah, the law requires immediate suspension during investigation? Then they'd have been accused of covering up a crime - itself a criminal offence...
The BBC does not have a good reputation at the moment when it comes to covering things up...They may mean that the BBC loses a billion pounds of revenue due to cancelled licences - but I doubt that, as that would require 1 in every 4 households to go On Demand only...
May is still employing #SU (Still Unemployed)...Way too early to jump to that. There's still the matter of what happens to May and Hammond; whether or not Clarkson gets replaced, if so by who; whether the show will or will not continue without him at all...
Nope.Ah, the law requires immediate suspension during investigation?
No it's not. Nor is your command for what direction the thread should take at this point.YEP THE END OF AN ERA! SH-
NOW, LETS TALK ABOUT THE FATE OF THIS THREAD. CLOSED OR NOT.
Also yeah, caps lock is neccesary.
To be fair, they have the youtube channel. I saw the Lambo Senso Elemento failed lap uploaded there, why not that trio.Honestly? Absolutely no idea.
The offer might be still on the table, but it won't be Top Gear as we know it doing it.
A more realistic view is it won't happen this year if at all, I'll file it under "Ulitimate What Ifs" right next to HypnoDisc v Razer from Robot Wars.![]()
Just really emotional because its what i grew up with and one of the main reason of my love in automobiles.Nope.
No it's not. Nor is your command for what direction the thread should take at this point.
Why America?Imagine they come to America and start a show called "We used to be Top Gear Presenters..."
It's our turn for hovercrafts if I may say so myself...Why America?
It could be in Ireland!![]()
I was reading up about Clarkson's fate from Car and Driver, and I noticed that what C&D essentially said was that the BBC wasn't going to renew his contract when it expires in December. So not necessarily getting sacked, but for all intents and purposes is being sacked at the same time because he is still being suspended while the clock runs out on his contract (and Hammond and May's at the same time).

Sentence one if you please...
This too... their cinematography was getting to be reeeeaaaallly good at the end I thought in comparison to only a few years ago. While I like TG alot, the filming is/was awesome
I'm amazed the BBC went through with it.
Couldn't they suspend him for a year?Well it was sack him and take a huge financial hit or cover it up and have its reputation smeared even more as well as commiting a criminal offence for covering it up.
Basically it was the BBC's plums in a vice and they had to decide what's the least painful way of getting out of it.
They didn't want to sack him, but I'll give them credit for going ahead and doing it.
Couldn't they suspend him for a year?
Couldn't they suspend him for a year?
How does one negotiate a contract with someone serving a suspension - and how can one suspend someone who does not have a contract?Couldn't they suspend him for a year?
Soo he's not fired from appearing on his other shows? How does one negotiate a contract with someone serving a suspension - and how can one suspend someone who does not have a contract?
Quick reminder here: Clarkson has not been sacked. The BBC have opted not to renew his contract, which is due to expire shortly. He will no doubt remain suspended until that point.
What other shows?Spoof he's not fired from appearing on his other shows?
Umm he has some other things on there, but he can still show up on BBC as something elseWhat other shows?
And no, he's not fired. He's not having his contract renewed...
