Except it isnt Top Gear. Its a show with the same "weird car challenges" section premise. Just add some car reviews ,the traveling segment, and the news. Although the last one might not be the same without the original 2001 trio.

Top Gear UK Series is dead, at least by name. Ill be more impressed if BBC makes it as a spiritual successor of Top Gear.
It'll be a surprise if I see the trio on a show on Netflix

After all these years, I've finally found Top Gear at a local retailer. It was season 14 for 7.50, so I bought it.

Twitter is both a gift and a curse.

Mainly the latter - I don't really see the point of it most of the time, but it seems to hand trolls a perfect platform in which to directly insult and verbally abuse people without any moderation.

To be honest, I don't know where the "Sue Perkins to be TG presenter" came from anyway. It was always an odd story to go with. Same goes for Dermot O'Leary, or is every flavour of the month presenter in with a chance to make column inches?

Whenever X presenter gets flagged as a potential replacement for Clarkson, think in your head "Jeremy Clarkson to replace X as host of Y."

Google says Dermot O'Leary is the host of the X Factor. "Clarkson to host X Factor" is absurd. So is "Clarkson to host Great British Bake Off", although no where near as much.

On the other hand, "Clarkson to host Radio 2 Drive Time Show" sounds pretty fitting (although judging by Top Gear's escapades in Sussex, perhaps foolish), and one can see why that would cross back over into Chris Evan's initially being billed as the top spot.

I predict Clarkson will be replaced by Jesus Christ, with John Lennon filling in at Lent, judging by the out roar from certain members of the human population towards his contract not being renewed.

What in the actual **** did I just read

I cant even fathom death threats to someone who has been randomly linked to the job...

Some of the more irate fans would rather see Sue Perkins immolated than consider any possibility of her replacing Clarkson. The same fans who threatened the Beeb for taking the right course of action last month, if I had to guess.

Yup. As I was saying:
Some of the noisier Top Gear fans have shown to be some of the most unpleasant people ever. Their lack of respect for other car programs shows just this. Just look at their intolerance for Fifth Gear or Top Gear US.

Consequently, I'm not surprised that there are morons who blame Oisin Tymon for what has happened to Top Gear or the death threats that Tony Hall has received.

I wonder if these morons realize that they're only gonna hurt Clarkson even more with their stupidity.

Is this why TG has been on a slow decline? So they can cater to these idiots as opposed to people with even a dollop of intelligence?

On an unrelated note, it's nice to see that Top Gear acknowledged the existence of Best Motoring. Perhaps (and way unrealistically), they can resurrect Best Motoring as a replacement for Top Gear.

Any thoughts on who could replace Clarkson, May and Hamster ?.We can't just have one presenter on TG.Perhaps the guys from the old TG and the presenters of Fifth Gear could race on over, and with the addition of Guy Martin could present it ?.That would be fine by me, do not know about you guys.I suppose Suzi Perry could present it aswell.

I think it should be 3 brand new different type of idiots.

More important to me than anything is being entertained, I believe they need guys who just work well with each other and can entertain.

Eventually we'll just get used to them.

But they need good synergy and lots of character.

Clarkson reveals that two days before he punched the producer, his doctor told him that a lump on his tongue was probably cancerous, but it has since been diagnosed as not being a cancer:

I don't think Clarkson would stoop so low as to claim he had cancer to try and explain away his behaviour. On top of his mother's death and the breakdown if his marriage, a cancer scare would place him under a lot of stress.

Imagine they let him back in....

A new series of For The Love Of Cars starts tonight on Channel 4 at 8 if anyone's interested, Dave are still showing TG repeats at that time, they showed three back to back episodes last Sunday night...two of which I watched..

Entertainment Weekly: BBC has "no ban" on Clarkson. Shelved Top Gear footage will still air.

According to BBC Two Controller Kim Shillinglaw, the footage that was filmed before Clarkson was sacked for hitting a producer will air later on this year on BBC Two and BBC America, saying , "No way would I want the available material not to be seen by viewers." “It’s serious and unfortunate what happened,” Shillinglaw, who is currently searching for Clarkson’s replacement, continued, “but there is no ban on Jeremy being on the BBC.”

Jeremy Clarkson, in a recent interview with The Sunday Times, spoke out about the impact that Top Gear had on his life, saying, “For more than 12 years Top Gear has been my life, completely. It was an all-consuming entity, a many-tentacled global monster that was dysfunctional and awkward and mad but I loved it with a passion.”

Imagine the new Top Gear guys are filming and they're doing a car test and all of a sudden you see Jeremy on the side doing his business on the grass :lol::lol:

I believe the producer of Have I Got News For You still expects him to present an episode later in the year. That would do more to reinforce the "no ban" statement than an appearance though Top Gear material filmed prior to his suspension.

Glad they finally decided not to bin those last three episodes. In the form of one or two Best of Top Gear-style compilation episodes if a TV airing is planned.

I'm hearing it could be as early as this Summer.

Uh... Huh.

Best of Top Gear-style compilation episodes
They could call it, the Last of Top Gear.

But seriously, they probably won't, because they have new Top Gear with new presenters coming soon.
