Nah, Clarkson is just a caricature of himself and I could do without him but he's important to the brand. May is a better presenter and journalist and cares for more than just power.

You can see where this is going, they are going to take what actually makes up Top Gear, producer and all and dump it onto another channel which will pay the mega bucks and probably give them more freedom.... leaving the BBC with an IP which could be potentially useless depending on who they get in to head up the show.

I suspect they all knew they would leave the minute this blew up. This doesn't mean none of them can't present stuff on the BBC, they can be a free agent appearing on any channels.

And now the wait for BBC to find 3 presenters for new new Top Gear
 
I could kind of see it working without Clarkson, but with 3 completely new presenters? The BBC would be absolute fools to re-use the Top Gear name.

Lets see if BBC is actually a decent damage controller, or a senseless cashgrab with this whole drama.

There already is Top Gear Australia, US, Korea, Russia and France, and none of them has the three presenters. All they really need to do, is an easy to watch show about cars, and they've already done enough to keep the Top Gear going, albeit likely with considerably lower viewership, especially outside UK.

In Britain, the reorganisation of Top Gear isn't really that big a deal. We all knew they'd have to leave eventually, and Top Gear has been reorganised before. It's how the programme works. Meanwhile, the rest of the world (or at least the bit that watches Top Gear) seems to be reacting with all the subtlety and maturity of a three year old child.

Just saw the Perfect Road Trip 2 on Netflix and it is, exactly the same as the original. No different whatsoever. The cars are slightly newer but that is about it. I think they even reused scenes from the first one.

I disagree entirely - it's much, much worse.

The Bolognese/Ragu 'joke' is basically the crux of all the scenes that aren't driving and is such an appalling assumption of audience stupidity it makes me wonder about the intelligence of whichever putz signed off on it.

The only TG I ever liked was the UK, because of the presenters. Show's over for me. :/
As is any viewing of BBC in general for me. (TG was all I watched)
 
All reports at the moment seem to keep suggesting Phillip Glenister, Guy Martin and Jodie Kidd as the front runners for the 3 jobs or are in talks about it.
